My grandfather just passed away from the virus. He was 85, but had no preexisting conditions other than his age. It happened so fast. He tested positive for it after showing symptoms and in a few days, he was gone. Rest in peace.
Awww sorry to hear that @Mike403 !!! I can't imagine what you and your family may be going through but I hope you all are staying positive and remembering the good times with your grandfather. Rest in peace šš½
Sorry to hear that Mike. I know 53 people who have or have had Covid. Thirteen have died. It sucks.

I'm so sorry for your loss, @Mike403 ! My family's been safe, but someone I know through work caught it. He's a younger, healthy guy and Covid absolutely wrecked him. After the ordeal he told me it was like he got hit by a truck and he could hardly breathe. He almost ended up intubated, thank god it started improving before it got to that. But even a few weeks after his recovery, his breathing was still weird and he found he got winded easily. It's a rough one.

@Importance - He lived in town, in Lafayette, so on the other side of town. I don't know what the plans are yet for funeral, etc...

@squeakytoy - My dad tested positive and he only has symptoms similar to a minor cold. It's baffling how this virus affects people in very different ways.

Christmas Eve a few years ago. My uncle dressed up as Santa for the kids and that is my grandpa sitting on his lap.

@Mike403 So sorry. That's about the age of my dad and I'm really glad he's been so far keeping away from it, knock on wood. I know people who have had family members and close friends die, and I know people who've been knocked flat and recovered, and I know people for whom it was minor. My 93 year old aunt kicked its ass in the nursing home, go figure. Sad when you lose someone dear. Big hugs.
