What if a pro smells like smoke and you hate smoking

I had that happen and wasn't sure if I should mention it.    I don't want to hurt her feelings.  But I don't like smoke very much.
I guess if you're a smoker it's hard to get rid of it ?  I've never smoked in my life so I don't know much about that.

If pro says she doesn't smoke, but smell see of it I would leave. I would ask before if she smokes
  • What kinda smoke?

    Cigarette, cigar, weed or BBQ?

That's a tough situation. If the profile says Non-Smoker then they arrive smeling of cigarettes, I would call them on that, gently. Maybe they live with smokers? The stench sticks to everything.

Ultimately, I would probably not book them again since you're not a smoker.

That's pretty inconsiderate and unprofessional for a "non-smoker" to place you in a smokey situation after claiming they're a non-smoker. But what's the protocol? Do you ask for a refund and leave?

I'm curious as to what the Pros think a client should do in this situation? Politely calling them out is a nice start but do you think the client should suck it up and stay for the session?
  • As a struggling-to-quit smoker, I can tell you, the smell lingers. I have a jacket that I used every time I went outside, it's probably not going to wash out any time soon.

I think it is totally appropriate to say something about it if it bothers you. Your Pro should be invested in your experience and if smoke smell is going to affect your experience, they should take the responsibility. If they don't immediately suggest an acceptable solution, the client should ask to reschedule.

I know I am careful before a session to not smoke (and it's helping me to kick the habit, yay!) and I always shower and put on clean clothes before meeting anyone.

I would hope all of my clients would feel comfortable enough to mention something about it. If it was brought to my attention I would see if washing my face and hands would help, change my clothes, and if it wasn't improved I would gladly reschedule.

Feedback like this is so important, thank you for sharing!
  • So one of the reason pro cuddlers leave me good karma is that I try to never make them feel bad during a session...so even though I didn't like the smoke..I didn't say anything...and I don't know if I ever will.  I mean it wasn't like super powerful where I couldn't breathe..it was just kinda noticeable and a little unpleasant. lol...
but seriously...I overlook stuff if I can....I just want to have a nice session and I love it when pros come away from it feeling glad that they had me as a client.
Its possible I won't book them in the future as often if it was really bad...but in this case it didn't seem to last that long so it must have been on their primary clothes which they changed out of anyway.  :)

You just have to be up front about your likes and dislikes. I always say way in advance with new cuddle buddies that I have a sensitive nose and can't deal with cigarettes or weed. It's also good to point out that your nose is going to most likely be in their hair and smoke clings to hair. My most recent cuddle buddy smoked weed, and thanked me for saying something beforehand. It was never a problem for the last few months.

I went to a Pro Cuddler who her entire apartment had incense and it smelled really bad. I only booked her for an hour session and the incense gave me a headache.

  • Smoke lingers... Maybe she went out the day before that happens. But I would mention it. I do not like smoke myself.

As a pro-Cuddler, if you do smoke, be considerate and take a shower before your session. I would hate to make a buddy feel uncomfortable because of any smell I carry with me. And it's ok to let them know you are not comfortable with that, they will understand and be more careful in the future

  • I think the key is to be honest in your profile. Don't try to hide the fact that you smoke. Then your cuddle partner or client can make the best decision for them. The assumption is that you will shower, but really sensitive people may choose to either not see you or book an outcall as a solution. I did a meet and greet with a Rover person once whose profile said non-smoker, but who it quickly became apparent she smoked. I had to wash EVERYTHING when I got home. Was just a waste of everyone's time. Better to just be honest.
