(Non)-Participation in forum topics (Poll) **

edited January 2021 in General

Hello fellow members,
I finally decided to participate here after much deliberation. Here is a poll. It follows thread by @introvme which talks about people watching from the sidelines. Also I was the one who asked @Importance to post on my behalf because I wasn’t comfortable posting.

(Moderators please correct me if I’m assuming anything wrong on the technicalities of website data & privacy settings)

Basis for the poll:

  • CC Profiles (and associated details like pics) can be hidden from being found by public by changing privacy settings.
  • But forum topics are visible to the public and thereby the people who post on forums are now visible.
  • This makes their profile and pictures viewable to the public without the public having an account and/or logging in. Just click on the users profile.
  1. Comfy engaging in forums if everything that happens on CC after login was inaccessible to public??14 votes
    1. Privacy Please.
      57.14%
    2. I feel Indifferent.
      14.29%
    3. I don’t have profile pictures so I don’t care.
        7.14%
    4. Popcorn & Soda please.

  • I would offer another option. I think cuddling should be main stream. I think it should be more public. I think we should be more exposed. I think we should start a healthy conversation about mental health and proper platonic cuddling. I don’t think we should be ashamed. I don’t think we should hide in the shadows. I think this is one of the many tools we can use to help heal the broken hearts that we all have.

I sincerely appreciate the courage you found to post this @TheGMan thank you.

I agree. But evolution also is a slow process.

@Importance Thank you for your kind input. @introvme Sorry for asking you to post on my behalf.

You should take the poll 😉

  • I chose only popcorn 🍿 & soda 🥤 ... because I’m craving popcorn & soda 🙈 lol but honestly I think CC does a great job at private settings ... you can publicly have your pics available... have it to where only friends can view them, or have them on private ready to exchange whenever you like ... regardless if you post on the forum or not, if your pics are on private no one can view them, & if your pics are under friends, only your friends can view them (hope this helps)

  • @TheGMan i did, np (I found it odd as well @ you asking me to post it lol, as well as the persistency in asking but I can see you meant no harm : )

    Welcome
    To the thread

  • I am more concerned about trolls and disrespectful responses than I am with the public finding our threads in external searches.

I would be in favor of making the forum hidden to the public, though.

  • @ScrantonCuddler You bring up a very good point. I think a lot of us have experienced negative interactions on the forums. It is very stressful. I feel like I have been trolled and that I have also done the trolling. I admit that the Internet is a very difficult place.

One of the younger members here on Cuddle comfort pointed out that many of us are a bunch of 40-year-old and 50-year-old adults fighting like we are in seventh grade. He was absolutely right.

  • I would be in favor of making the forum hidden to the public, though. - @ScrantonCuddler

But isn’t the forum hidden from the public already? Because we have to log in inorder to access the forum .... I mean , I wouldn’t want my thread about “what would happen if an icecream truck falls into a volcano, will the icecream melt?” be public! 😯🙈

Here is result of a basic google search in incognito mode. I’m not logged in to my account.

    “Cuddle comfort forum”

    ..

  • I’m good with being public. I wish we all were.

  • ***Please retake poll ***

Editing the post made the poll disappear 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have my profile set to not be publicly displayed, and I definitely want to keep it that way. I've dealt with stalking in the past, and prefer to have some control over the audiences I share with. I don't mind so much if people recognize me on this site (this is the least crazy thing I do online) but I do like the idea that somebody needs to create a digital trail (account) to view my profile, at least.

I'd like it if the forums were locked to search results as well, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.

  • Your google searches were very specific (not basic) ... that’s a bit misleading lol , also, if a random person in this world were to google “cuddle comfort importance” as you did in that example , when they click on it they would be promoted to log in , but the real question is why would someone randomly in the world google “cuddle comfort importance” as you did lol

Since my profile name and the word importance Is a common word in the English language, this specific search does not really expose anything I have said in particular. However I am good with being public.

  • @introvme : I ran two separate searches. And I attached screenshot of search result for you in separate comment.

  • I think this brings us back around to an old thread. Why are people embarrassed to be on a cuddling website?

  • @TheGMan yes but again, why would someone who knows nothing about this website google this website with someone’s username?

I have another joke to tell.

    Joke warning ⛔️
    Joke incoming 🦘

I keep my OnlyFans, the porn I preform in, my nudes, and my various illegal activities on web encrypted services only. Very private!

    This is a joke 🐳🐳🐳🐳🐳🐳

But seriously click on my profile for my OnlyFans link.

  • @introvme here is what I meant/intended to show. There was nothing misleading.

    Basic
    - something as simple as a 3 word search yields result.

You can type in cuddle comfort discussion/cuddle comfort forum/cuddle comfort forum Denver, etc. and it’ll throw up a result.

Again. Specificity is an upgraded case scenario of basic which lends more reason for MY need for forum and other website interactions to be private and only accessible after logging in.

  • Unless people in your private life know you’re on cuddlecomfort ... & that you go by “TheGMan” in real life 😅 ... that’s such an irrelevant concern ... & even if they knew somehow you’re on Cuddle Comfort , & you actually do go By “TheGMan” at work / amongst your family / friends & they specifically google this -Cuddle Comfort TheGMan-.... they still have to create an account & log on... & even than you don’t have your actual pic up .... this will be wayyy too many coincidences to finally find you GMan : )

  • @Importance: evolution is a slow process. There is an association to everything (-ve or +ve). Nature and nurture play a part. Conditioning too. No matter how old age the discussion, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Dreamt of and envisioned - Yes.

@introvme : As squeakytoy pointed out. some people have more to lose. Some feel indifferent.

I’m going to leave it at it without going into any more specific downsides.

I mean, we should definitely keep practicing good internet hygiene here (never using the same image/username between social media sites, never sharing personally identifying information or contact information publicly). I don't see the forums being public as a huge risk for people who follow those rules, but I definitely do consider it at least a mild risk. Thanks for sharing this, @TheGMan , it's good to know.

@TheGMan you’re still asking or suggesting CC to fix a “problem” or “issue” that doesn’t exist honestly ... I logged out, did the same search as you (which no one outside of this community won’t be able to do, & when I clicked I had zero access ... I than did it with you since you’re very much worried about it & these following messages you have sent me did not come up .

  • (never using the same image/username between social media sites, never sharing personally identifying information or contact information publicly).

@squeakytoy amazing suggestions!! Ty for that

  • @introvme : since you felt so compelled to share my private messages.

    UNDERSTAND:
    - private messages are never public unless posted in public forums. Which you just did.

    1) girl with pretty eyes. She and I had chatted for months before I sent you that message. I just wanted to see if you were talking about the same person.

    2) I agreed to lurking until today.

    3) other user was @importance. I apologized to her in this thread publicly.

    4) I decided to post the poll after much deliberation.

Please understand timelines. And if raising and sharing a personal concern is such an issue on this “forum” and it gets such treatment, no wonder people choose to lurk.

  • edited January 2021

@introvme since when are suggestions a bad thing ? The website can choose to Take it or leave It or improvise a bit.

Why are you so fixated ??

  • @TheGMan

    1) “she and I”? I never told you who the girl with the pretty eyes was, I never responded to you in pm’s period

    2) where do you actually agree & sign up to lurking only? (Asking for a friend)

    3) that’s not my concern

    4) that’s pretty awesome that you did, welcome : )

Plz understand that if you try & get cute , especially after I show you respect & embrace you , I know exactly how to get cute back ; ) no wonder people lose respect.

  • Sure. Embracing and supporting was posting screenshots of private messages which everyone knows are private to prove that they’re not public ?

  • edited January 2021

Where is the rule that private messages are private? If someone perpetually spams your mailbox and you never respond to them. You never create a relationship with them. You never build trust with them. You just harass them. Why should this be private? There is no trust. There is no relationship. You were just harassing this person by spamming their inbox.

And once you send off a message to someone else’s inbox it becomes their possession. They can screenshot it. They can manipulate it. They can do whatever they want to it.

If I am wrong about the rules of this website please let me know. I am trying to become versed in all the policies here. I also try to protect peoples identity when I do reveal harassing messages.
