Put off.

So lately I have been seeing an influx of one liner profiles. And they put me off simply due to the fact that these profiles do not have enough information about who the person is. And it makes me hesitant to message them to arrange sessions.
It also scares me because I am visually impaired, and I often think about the fact that they may not be the person who they say they are. That is why for me, I make sure that the person I am meeting with has a profile that is at least a few sentences long.

  • Agreed. How am I supposed to craft a unique message for them if what they have in their profile is "I love to cuddle." Isn't that why we're all here?

One liners? How about nothing on their profile? I try to give then the benefit of the doubt though. Maybe they're new and haven't had time to fill it out yet. Although I've gone back to look at a few and nothing has changed. I'm not exactly sure how to interpret that then.

It also advertises that they are not serious about cuddling, or at least will not put forth any effort in the conversation or the cuddle. Their loss, I say.

I've messaged dozens of one-liners, and yes they pretty much lived up to expectation. But a couple were very nice.

  • I have noticed that also. And the ones where they have nothing at all, it makes you wonder??? I did have one person ask me to send them a picture with me holding a coffee cup in my hand, I think to make sure I’m a real person. Also may have been to see a current pic. To see if i posted a picture that was many years old ?

  • It just causes me to wonder though. I’ve heard too many horror stories when it comes to things like meeting someone and then something going wrong.

  • Either don't message them ( their loss ) or require a video chat prior to meeting.

  • @Nv I actually added that to my profile a few days ago.

  • @envie, I recently made a change to my profile in which I state that before we meet I require a phone or video call.

  • Watnewv- Did you send them a photo with coffee? I think thats a fair request.
My job never requested video conferencing and I don't follow trends, so Facetime is as far as I'll commit to video chat.
    What happened to Facetime?! lol
Andy1996- don't reach out to those people, simple.
Note- Some are just really bad at promoting themselves, or could be ultra shy or socially awkward, That doesn't mean they don't need, or can offer connection.
Andy, let them come to you.

Some people don’t know what to say about them selves or how to describe what they need or are seeking maybe talk to them and suggest a way they could improve they profile so to attract more people. I know I have revamped mine a few times and will probably continue to do so. We should all refresh our profiles from time to time

  • Sic profiles are typically a turn off for me as well. I expect someone's profile to be an effective summary of their personality. I can then base my decision whether I want to cuddle them or not based on it.

Agreed! With everything said here. And I have some additional ideas!

And I’m in favor of any and all types of screening you want to do for potential cuddle buddies. While it may not be popular to require their photo ID, FaceTime, an address and phone number or whatever else they object to, remember how much most relationships require of us. If we wanna job we have to pass a background check, provide all of our identification along with physical address. If we want to see a doctor we have to give them our health insurance and our photo ID. If we want to enter a casino or a bar we have to present our photo IDs if we appear to be under age. If we want to purchase certain items we may need to provide a photo ID.

There is nothing wrong with requiring more information from the people that want to cuddle with you. They may object. It’s their loss. You have every right to keep yourself safe and to find the right people to fit your needs.

    Bless you, Andy!

And it makes me hesitant to message them to arrange sessions.

That's an interesting remark. I don't ever message enthusiasts to arrange sessions. Or even professionals, really. I message people to open a conversation. to be fair I'm pretty open and relaxed about meeting people so if I get a good response it will take me no time at all to get comfortable with the idea.

Obviously a session is the end goal when I send a message, but it's not the first goal. The first step is just to find out if their messaging personality is consistent with their profile personality.

Over the decades I've met hundreds of people off the internet and I've never had a bad experience. I have had lots and lots of really happy ones. Because I've had plenty of practice I'm not excessively cautious, but I am always alert and careful. If I'm not comfortable, I don't do it.

@davidgfla facetime is worthless because it only works for people in Apple's walled garden. If you want to talk to the world you need ... well, pretty much any other of the umpteen videocall apps out there. Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp and Signal to name but four.
