Should initial deposits be asked for...?

As someone starting out as a pro cuddler, should a deposit be asked for before meeting?

Personally, I would just ask for the rate upon actually meeting and collecting the funds face to face. But I'm reading other posted discussions that seem to lean towards asking for half upon booking, then collecting the rest upon arrival.
What's everyone's thoughts on this matter?

    Deposits in any circumstances are a barrier to purchase for the customer. You don't yet have any customers: you should be thinking of ways to attract them in, not put them off.

    Deposits for professional cuddlers are for established professionals and when there are expenses involved.
