I have been wanting to get a pet for a while now, so I went down to a local pet store to see what they might have. I didn't want the usual usual dog, cat, bird, turtle or fish. Maybe something really cool.
The manager helped me look at some neat critters and I finally decided on a talking centipede. Yep, this was going to be awesome.
It came with a little wooden box that would serve as a house and I displayed it proudly on a table in my living room.
After a while I went over to the box and said.
" Would you like to go on a walk with me?"
I got no response at all. "I have been scammed", I thought.
I tried it again. " Do you want to go on a walk with me?.
Again, not a peep. Now I am angry.
This time I got up real close to the box and yelled, " DO YOU WANT TO GO ON A WALK WITH ME?"
A very soft little voice spoke. " I heard you the first time. I'm putting on my shoes."
I love my new pet.
