Why do people block you?

Are only some people allowed to work through what they experience here out in the open?

I'm an external processor ~ Am I really doing something wrong, by posting in a thread, about why someone would block another, about being blocked, and my feelings/opinions around that?

I didn't name you, or elude to you. I was done with my last comment (based on yours) that perhaps I had made someone (didn't specify who) uncomfortable/unsafe and how I felt about that.

I don't know why you're choosing to take what I'm working through personally. I don't believe I've done anything to warrant this reaction, but you're entitled to react the way you see fit.

I've stayed on topic, haven't done anything to hurt you (at least not intentionally as I stated earlier in an apology) and I also have feelings.

So...? Please don't lash out at me.

    edit: fixed a sentence

Added: And I had no idea we didn't like each other. I thought we we were good until this all started tonight. But maybe that part was to @CuddleMeLater and not to me?

Actually, before I go, FWIW, because you're obviously aware that I had already blocked you and I suspect that may be part of the reason you blocked me back: I actually blocked you quite a while ago. Days or weeks ago.

It was when you made the post about some messages you received from a man. You screenshotted the messages and said they made you feel uncomfortable.

I found your post pretty disturbing. The man's messages were completely innocuous. He seemed like a decent guy who was looking for cuddles. (Maybe he was actually a monster, I have no idea, but those messages certainly didn't suggest that.) The fact that you'd take a screenshot of the messages and post them on the forum and try to incite a bunch of people to criticize the man who sent them was worrying. I wanted to be sure I never forgot about that post and messaged you. So I blocked you to make sure that never happened.

It was already apparent to me that you may have been through some trauma. Which I empathize with. But either way, your creep-meter is miscalibrated. Nobody in this thread or on this forum is out to get you.

  • I have asked you both to stop talking about me publicly. Please stop. This website is all about consent. Please stop

Do you all bully much— all three of you? Are you proud of yourselves for ganging up on me?

I'll definitely never talk to you or mention you again after this, but just a couple points:

    1. You don't actually have the right to control whether people talk about you. You have the right to control who can touch you, who you socialize with, what you talk about, etc. But you don't get to decide what I talk about. That's not what consent is about.

    2. I didn't hate you or think you were a bad person, and I didn't think we were actively fighting on the forum. I enjoyed reading some of what you had to say, and I even enjoyed some of what we talked about when we disagreed. It's just, due to the reason I mentioned, I wanted to make sure I never messaged you. I'm sorry my characterization of my blocking reasons hurt your feelings.

  • I had no idea that you blocked me.

  • [Deleted User]CuddleMeLater (deleted user)

Then what is this about? I honestly don't know.

  • @Importance ~ Just to be clear... Who all are you addressing? Because if I'm one of the three, you are twisting everything being said and now grouping me with people (presumably CML & FC), one of whom (I assure you) wants no affiliation with me what so ever.

Maybe take a step back and just breathe for a minute.

  • And I definitely didn’t come to a blocking forum thread to complain about people blocking me. And I think that it is OK to ask someone not to talk negatively about you. My father spent my entire childhood yelling at me. I did not consent to being yelled at. I do not consent to being bullied. I will stand up for myself. Take this somewhere else.

  • Actually, I’m good. Good night. Talk about me all you want just know that you have attacked me enough for one night.

  • [Deleted User]CuddleMeLater (deleted user)

Actually, don't worry about answering. I'm seriously done here. My final word: I don't hate you, I don't think you're a bad person, but I have no idea what you're on about. Nobody is bullying you. As far as I -- and I think everyone else -- can tell you suddenly out of the blue started making a bunch of completely opaque posts about people talking about you and making you feel unsafe. Nobody has any idea what the hell you're talking about. We are not your father.

  • Don’t wanna butt in at all, but its amazing how much you both are alike @CuddleMeLater & @Importance in the sense that you both speak your minds regardless if it goes against the grain / or it isn’t politically correct ect you both are true to yourselves & honest .... there’s definitely been lots of miscommunication & its been from 1 side but let me tell you importance , cml is really a good guy here , & he’s never tried to hurt or disrespect you even if you thought he did, if 2 people on here would have been friends I would have thought you 2 for sure but I can definitely see him being apprehensive about it moving forward because he doesn’t want to be in a position where he’s misunderstood/ words taken out of context / or vilified but he’s genuinely one of the good guys here, I hope one of you reach out to the other even if just to put this miscommunication to rest & never talk again... hate to see this when I know there’s absolutely no I’ll intent , bless both your hearts!

  • @introvme 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • [Deleted User]CuddleMeLater (deleted user)

Thanks for your kind words @introvme .

  • When someone blocks me, I make up a story in my mind about why they blocked me. It is not the reason they blocked me, it is a manifestation of my mind’s interpretation of reality.

  • @MrPaul ~ Yay! Thank you!! That's such a great share/approach!! I'm going to start doing that too... 🤗

  • Wow... I'm trying to process what was being said in this thread. I'll need a few days.

  • They just can't handle all the awesomeness. 😂
Or they just are sick of seeing my face 😈😈😈

Unfortunately, many judge by cover, not the pages. Including a friendly, kind, licensed and college-educated professional like myself who is in the rare percentage of helping others first, than myself. I am who I am.

I don't mind much, because I didn't do anything personally wrong towards anyone, so I'm not here to take it too personally.

I will admit though....It irks me when fellow pros block for no reason, but that's just because I'm such an advocate on creating a healthy, cuddle community and it is baffling when a fellow professional DOES take something personal but isn't professional enough to discuss it. I gather Im not entitled to any explanation really, and I'm okay with that, but the ambiguity is a little lame. 🤣🤣🤣

  • @MissAdventurous - I've been blocked by people I thought I was cool with in the forum. I try not to take it personal anymore.

  • As the very wise elder Bobby McFerrin once said. "Dont worry, be happy now."

  • I’m with @Chrischong. I’m pretty sure I get blocked for creeping on people’s profiles too much. It’s a compulsion. If I’m looking at you, it’s because I find you fascinating. Like @MrPaul, I think I’m constantly writing narratives about other people in my mind. It’s actually an exercise we used to be assigned in one of my acting classes, and I enjoyed it so much, I’ve never been able to stop.

I think other pros assume you’re copying their profile or trying to poach clients from their karma. I’ll admit that I am interested in how other pros handle pricing, hosting, etc, and there are merits to knowing your market intimately—knowing what other pros offer and who they see is part of that research... but mostly I’m just curious. Endlessly curious.

Hi, everybody. I hope not to break any rules here, or even come close to that. In no way am I judging any of you, or taking sides, in the conflicts between some of you, and Importance. This is so hard, but please bear with me. As I read through the remarks being exchanged, I really sensed that nobody was trying to be hateful or vicious. True, there were very strong feelings behind each person's points. True, also, that those points were each based on differing perceptions about the topic at hand ( Blocking ). Nothing wrong with all that, on anybody's part. But somehow, it seemed that the emotions increasingly obscured the issue, then the banter became more and more personal, until it all spiraled downward. Then, it appeared that nobody felt heard, let alone validated, in either their respective opinions, or their feelings. We all have so much to learn about great communication. I just ask all of us ( yes, myself as well, for sure! ) to be just a little more sensitive, day by day, to each other's needs, because our words, and how we use them, are vastly more powerful than any of us realize. Like fire, they can warm, but also can burn. Like water, they can quench, but also can drown. We are all human, and we all need such reminders. Thanks for reading this, and my very best to everybody.

It is all subjective. I had an aggressive 'professional' block me. Presumably because I chose to decline due to my discomfort with the hard sell.

  • edited January 2021

@Invisible_Touch smart move. The aggressive pro’s tend to be the worst pros at cuddling. I actually like it when a pro initiates contact and says if you’re ever interested keep me in mind. Aggressive to me is repeatedly contacting me and telling me how their spots are filling fast, or you are missing out, or telling me how stupid i am if i went with someone else. That type of aggressiveness tells me i made the right move to not choose them.

  • If their spots are filling up fast, not sure why they need to aggressively market themselves to you. That's a sign that they are begging for clients.

I also generally have no problem when pros message me first, although it hasn't happened for a while.

I've never received the type of aggressive message @FunCartel describes, but I have gotten some that seem overly sales-y, which definitely puts me off. Makes me feel like a used car salesman is asking me to cuddle.

  • There are 2 pros on CC (that ive come across) that have mastered the game here & could most definitely make money teaching others how to go about it, they are soo transparent & so helpful that they wouldn’t even charge , but I’m sure they get plagiarized (but that only gets you so far)

  • @CuddleMeLater - I had one message me at 1 in the morning asking me to book a session that night/morning and will host. Even if I wasn't put off by the unsolicited sales pitch, it gave me a really creepy vibe asking to go to some strangers house at that time of night.

One of the reasons could be because some people on here are toxic. It is sad because some of those types ruin things for the majority who are just trying to have a nice escape. Some of them know what they are doing and continue to do it because they want to bring others down to their level of misery. Their are plenty of other more appropriate venues for them.
