DISCLAIMER

There is too much toxicity and negativity on the forum lately, so this is a place to come and be kind to each other. Any sniping or bullying will be reported.

Please don't talk about politics or any other divisive or inflammatory topics.

If you aren't sure if you should post something- don't. If you do feel the need to reply to someone's post please ask yourself three things first:

1) Is what I am about to say true?
2) Is what I am about to say helpful?
3) Is what I am about to say kind?

If the answer to any of those things is 'no' - goodbye, post your comment elsewhere.

So, friends, what has made you smile today? What are you doing to look after yourself today?

I have moved my bedroom round, I'm finding things I forgot I even had, and I'm spending some quality time with my housemate and my pup 😊❤️

  • I start classes tomorrow and am really looking forward to it. I'm studying to be an electrical engineer and really enjoy school.

  • 💕♥️🌌

I have 3 more days to go after today to enjoy some time off, really looking forward to it 😊 also ive been enjoying some research on munchkin cats 🐱 looking to get a kitten for my best friend 🐈‍⬛

  • Hi Buggle! I hope you're having a great day.

I have soo much work to do today, so I am procrastinating on CC! I'm going to log off and get right to it! I am looking forward to a nice cup of tea to get me going. I do so love tea. Chai tea in particular, but it's too much effort to make that right now.

That's so cool @Mike403 😊 I love learning new things, it makes you feel nice about yourself, I think. Best of luck tomorrow- keep us updated!

@introvme I'm not familiar with munchkin cats- are they literally just smaller cats? Are you going to go the adoption/rescue route for the kitten, do you think?

@sunnysideup I think your message came through and I hadn't refreshed the page - I didn't see it, sorry! Is chai tea the one that had cinnamon in it? It's quite spice-y?

Yes exactly, one of the smallest cat breeds out there ... we have been trying the adoption / rescue route for weeks now & the process is harder than we thought (due to pandemic & high demand surprisingly) ... the 1st cat was actually from a stray cat who would come around the store to get fed, she had 3 babies & brought them all , thankfully they all got adopted (including mom) we prefer to adopt / rescue 100% but we really want the one we have to have her company already so if we can’t adopt or its taking to long we’ll go the other route

Edit: This is the 1 we have now, we believe she’s a Russian blue mixed with another breed from what we’ve been told but it doesn’t matter she’s pure love ♥️

  • This is a short film called 'Cuddle Buddy'

Well, I'm not a very nice person, but I did have a very nice weekend.

Not only did I get tons of sleep, I started reading through the Stormlight Archive again because I've finally gotten my hands on book four and needed a refresher. I also drank lots of tea, ate hot dogs and hamburgers and fries, cuddled, successfully investigated a murder at the Excelsior Hotel, slept some more.... It was awesome.

I have to go back to work tonight, though. Oh well—all good things. At least I feel really well-rested. And there's always next weekend.

    I like my life.

@introvme that is a sweet cat! Such a pretty colour too 😻

@NYCLatnGuy thank you for sharing that film, it was informative as much as it was sweet. I haven't met anyone from here yet, or has any experience with platonic cuddling/professional cuddlers so it was interesting to see what that might look like.

@DarrenWalker I think you're selling yourself short- you're plenty nice! That game looks cool- I'd definitely check it out, I love that kind of thing. I really miss doing escape rooms because I love the drama/adventure immersivity of the narrative as well as the actual puzzle element.

A friend sent me a link to this the other day- might it be your kind of thing?

  • My friend and I decided to be a pod together so I made him dinner last night without masks. And my new place is near a playground so every morning I wake up to happy kid sounds.

Aw, lovely! My niece is having her first baby in the summer (she's gone for her second scan today) and I'm looking forward to hearing those gorgeous baby giggles 😍

What did you make for dinner?

  • @DarrenWalker 👍👍👍That is all that matters. Do you like your life. Does not matter one iota what strangers on the internet say or think as long as you like your life.

  • I just found this object inside a wall. Not knowing what it is makes it all that much more interesting.

  • I had a beautiful dinner and the most wonderful cup of green tea yesterday at what might be my new favorite sushi restaurant.

Was a beautiful respite after hours driving. Delicious flavors and excellent customer service. The waitress had such nice energy. Such vibrant. Very spirit. Wow ~ 🐶✨

Today I'm going to straighten up to prepare this house for a nice deep clean and replace the air filters. Better for the heating unit, better for my lungs. Looking forward to it ~ ^^

  • @BuggleBear Glad you liked it, here's a sappy song about cuddles for your enjoyment as well:

  • @MrPaul What's that?

@EarthlyAngel003 Sounds great! It's especially important to breathe clean air if one is indoors often, as the indoor air quality is generally worse than outdoor air.

My 5 month old puppy keeps me smiling

  • @sunnysideup
I thought it was a screwdriver handle, but I’ve never seen any screwdriver handle like it, and the opening seems too large. It could have been a handle from something else. It remains a mystery!

  • That puppy 😍😍😍

  • @MrPaul can it be a part of a screwdriver?

  • @BuggleBear miso soup - the simplest thing ever. Saute' a bunch of veggies, add a can of salmon (trader joe's!), put a heaping TBS of miso in each of two bowls, add some hot water and dissolve the miso, then add a bunch of veggies/salmon, then fill the rest with hot water, stir. It was a spontaneous thing after a hike when I was telling him about miso and I said, "Let's go make some!"

  • @MrPaul looks like a walking/hiking stick tip...

  • @kay750 ~ I'm in love with your floofer poof!!!
    So cute!!! 🥰🤗

  • @quixotic_life
It is some type of hard plastic, and it is at least 50 years old. I thought it could have been a bicycle handlebar grip, but it is small, maybe a child’s bike.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@BuggleBear: [snickering] Oh, yes. That is very much my kind of thing. Thanks!

  • edited January 2021

@BuggleBear No worries! They usually have cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and some other spices. While it contains many spices, it's spicy in the hot sense, just the flavorful sense. A bit of black pepper and ginger give it just a little zing. It is sweet and creamy. If done right, it's really really good. Some Indian restaurants serve it. Not all of them serve good chai.

  • edited January 2021

    Ooooh... @MrPaul ~ Interesting! 50 years/1970-ish...

It does seem an odd shape for a handle bar grip too, and I thought maybe it could be from a tricycle, but those all had holes for streamers back then...

Maybe it's the foot of a survey or telescope type tripod? Or the handle off a chisel or drywall trowel?

    Whatever it is ~ It's a fun mystery!! 🤔

Hello nice people in friendly thread. I am nice. You are nice. We are nice. Be nice. @MrPaul i believe it is part of an old headboard or something similar. At least that was my first guess. @DarrenWalker That is cool. I once solved a mysterious death at The Royale Hotel with help from a human, a klingon and an android.

  • @BuggleBear Thank you very nice person, for starting a very nice thread, about very nice people and the very nice things they do!

Today I cleaned my toilet. Now it is very nice and clean!

I did this because I had a dream that my toilet was overflowing... I flushed it three times to try and solve the problem (Don't ask why, logic doesn't apply in dreams). Then it overflowed and there was a few inches of water on the floor. I was trying to turn the water valve off. I kept turning and turning and turning and that's when I became lucid, realizing it was a dream and no amount of turning would shut off the water. At that point I was able to awaken myself.

I figured I better clean the toilet in case it does overflow, then the floor water would be very nice too!

    Dream interpretations anyone?

  • Thank you for starting a positive thread ❤️ @BuggleBear you’re wonderful.

  • @LovenLight I think I’ve also had that kind of toilet overflowing dream. I’m no expert in dream interpretation but I think it could symbolize something going out of control in your life situation. Does that make sense to you?
