If I’m looking at you, it’s because I find you fascinating.
@BellaSera finds me fascinating?!
...It's more likely I looked at her profile first, but I'll take it as a compliment anyway.
@Invisible_Touch ~ So true but those who are toxic may not know it...
Just to use as an example ~ I didn't know that I was coming off as toxic until the other day. They couldn't provide examples for their claims, so I'm unlikely to change anything, but just felt I'd speak on behalf of my own toxic self, because I had no idea those were the perceptions people had of my participation here... And maybe others don't either. 😒🙇♀️
@mtp, you’re darn right I find you fascinating, Mr. American Folkdance Enthusiast! In my day job, I’m a theatre historian and a performance ethnographer with a family history in Appalachia. I could watch you all day!
@quixotic_life i think we all are guilty of it at times. The fact that you recognized such a thing shows a level of self awareness many people do not have. I have edited some of my posts for the same reason. I do not really want to add to any negativity as @BuggleBear kindly pointed out some threads were doing.
@quixotic_life - I never saw where you were coming off as toxic. There was one person...I'm not gonna name any names...who told me you were being mean to her when I thought what you were saying was nice and giving a compliment. Some people here really makes my head itch.
Oh snap! @Mike403 ~ I wasn't even thinking of that one ~ oops! So... yeah... it's been pointed out by (at least) two people then...
Eeesh.
@quixotic_life - Yeah, but she turned against me as well(and blocked me right before getting banned) all because I wish her well on another dating site(since she wasn't finding it here).
Thank you. That was very well said!
I have blocked and have been blocked. It's all about the boundaries that are mine and the other persons boundaries. Understood and move on. Life is too short
I've only blocked a few people who made me feel uncomfortable.. besides that I don't block anyone. I usually have people who message me then just never respond.
Touche Benevalence
If I message someone and don’t get a response after 2-3 messages (and I usually give them a few weeks to respond as well), I’ll usually block them. It prevents me from feeling like a clown and trying to message them again and it’s a reminder that they are probably not interested in me.
I live in an area without many cuddlers, so I see the same 3-4 profiles all the time. It’s hard when you see the same profile showing up as active and you know that you made a kind and thoughtful attempt to start a conversation, but they never responded.
Eh who cares doesnt matter plenty of people dont block who cares about a fraction . Put away the ego and stop over thinking things
@quincyq03 your answer will be useful to many who are posting in or simply reading this thread. You are using blocking as an administrative tool: it's simply a way of organising the profiles that you see. It does not suggest any improper behaviour on the part of either party.
The one thing I don't understand is when you get blocked after contacting someone maybe once or twice. The first time asking for a cuddle, the second time as a follow up just in case they didn't answer the first time, make sure they received your first message.. If you are not interested all you have to do is write back that you are not interested and then the person will know.
@Lev136
Please note I'm in no way condoning ignoring messages.
After years of online dating women rejecting men has resulted in insults, abuse and bullying from those they reject. There's a reason sites like Tinder exist. It only allows communication via mutual interested parties.
While the polite and respectful response would be "I'm not interested" I suspect the ignore option will continue as long as there are people who have been on the side of hate filled and rude messages. Which will be forever.
Using the block feature to cull those who don't respond is best. No sense in wasting your thoughtful messages on those who don't reply repeatedly.
Women seem to rarely respond on Tinder too. Of course they have the right to, but I don’t think the response rate is any better there. Even among matches lol
I rarely notice that I'm blocked by women here however quite a few men have. Usually the ones who are mad and resentful , and constantly complain about women and are threatened by anybody who doesnt cater to their pity party. Or simply dont want men visiting their profile. Others I suppose.just simply dont like me for one reason or another. But yeah , it's usually men who end up blocking me .
Accurate...
