For me, it's a tossup between Hebrew Nationals or Sabrett. Both very tasty. If you're not from the US, these brands may sound alien.

@introvme aren't hot dogs made with pork? They are in the UK, for the most part (unless you go out of your way to find beef ones, which is super rare and I've never seen any)
@BuggleBear tbh I always thought that hotdogs 🌭 were made with everything under the sun lol all the leftovers from chicken / beef & pork .... but here many brands will say 100% beef, I’m not much of a hotdog person but if there’s a bbq going down I tend to get 100% beef (just incase) lol
I've never heard of any of those brands. I'm not a big fan of hot dogs anymore but when I last visited Cleveland this place had the best hot dogs I've ever tried. If you're vegetarian or vegan they also have the best vegan dogs ever! Plus they have live music and beer! Their tots were also amazing!

As I understand it, American hot dogs typically tend to be made with pork or beef, or a mix of both. Some are chicken or turkey. Hebrew Nationals are Kosher I think, so they are all beef. Sabretts are also beef!

I like Nathan's when I eat at one of their stands, but I'm not a big fan of the supermarket hot dogs sold in their name.

“ Tube steaks “. Many years ago we visited the Thumans meat processor . We took a tour through factory , saw how the meat was mixed with liquid smoke and stuffed into synthetic casings , hung on racks and rolled into the large ovens . The plant was pretty clean , so were their delivery trucks

When I used to eat them Hebrew or a local grocery store had some “hot links”, very tasty. But definitely get them all beef. If not they are mixed meats.

well when i was little we had a bbq and i think i might have ate to many and i got food poising and havnt ate a single one sence
@aurora_cuddler Oh I'm sorry. Hopefully you don't have a food allergy, though I don't know what's in a hot dog that could cause an allergic reaction, so ye probably had food poisoning. Barbecue hot dogs are really tasty, but there's tons of other tasty food in the world.

Hot dogs are gross. Hot weiners are where it's at. If y'all ever find yourselves in the littlest of the fifty states, you know, the one that's not even a blip on the map, YOU HAVE TO TRY A HOT WEINER. It's a different meat mixture in the link. It has a reddish color. The combination of meat they use is so disgusting they don't make 'em anywhere else, but it's SOOOOOOOO good. . . They only serve them at greasy dive diners. They're amazing at the end of a night of drinking. They're smothered with onions, mustard, celery salt, and a secret meat sauce that the chefs will absolutely never divulge the recipe for. And if the chef does it right, he piles up all the links on his sweaty hairy fat arm as he puts them in buns steamed to perfection for the customers. They're also lovingly called gaggers and belly busters. Don't forget them in your car overnight.
