@squeakytoy & @lets_cuddlee what do you guys think about imposing tariffs on imports in order to motivate people to buy American & gain control once again of manufacturing ? I personally think this was a bad idea for the simple fact that we’ve hit a point of no return with China ... so even though it was well intentioned , I think it wasn’t a good idea at all.
@introvme I live in Canada, so I couldn't claim that I know what's best for America on that front - I don't know enough about what you can/can't manufacture there, etc.
That being said, I don't see anything inherently wrong with tariffs (as long as they're thoughtfully negotiated and not just slammed into place with short-term savings in mind), and I do think countries in general should try to be less dependent on China.

@introvme China honestly has us bent over, in more ways than one. They are milking us dry through trade deficits, not to mention their infiltration of media, politics, universities, etc. I think if we actually hit a point of no return with China, that would be a very bad thing for the world. They are worse than Nazi Germany at this point, but with way better technology.
Point being, it's necessary. Tariffs, historically, have done just that. It's not like it's a crazy, unprecedented idea. Tariffs to protect the workers of your home country. It's the presidents job to protect foreign workers.
Btw, I think squeaky said she's from Canada, so she probably doesn't really know about any of this

I was just wondering who, in your opinion, is supporting white supremacists or sexual assault of women? I don't think any candidates in america do either of those things. I'm also against coup attempts, but I wonder if you have equal disdain for Nancy Pelosi's attempt, and woule refuse to compromise with her, as well? Or if it's just a partisan thing lol
@lets_cuddlee the point of no return in my opinion is that we had manufactured during the 1800’s all the way up until the mid 1900’s ... after this big business got very greedy & wanted to squeeze as much margin as possible & send these manufacturing jobs overseas ... we’re in a point that if we bring all those manufacturing jobs back , the cost of production / plus minimum wage here(which to us here is ridiculous but overseas is even wayyy less) benefits / sick days / unionizing / the list goes on, companies will collapse because price point of things will be ridiculously expensive, but this was our own doing ... check this article out https://www.aei.org/carpe-diem/how-much-would-an-all-american-iphone-cost-two-reports-say-2000/ it explains what an iPhone would cost if it were made in the u.s. today ... & i think it will be wayy more expensive than that because of soo many factors that this article isn’t considering.
