The Cuddle Requests forum is mildly interesting

The Cuddle Requests forum here is somewhat interesting to me.

It seems like such an obviously ineffective way to find a cuddle partner. Posts commonly get under 20 views. And yet there is a steady stream of men posting there. It's very common for posters to have no profile picture, no profile text, and for the post to be a single sentence, often grammatically incorrect and barely coherent.

Quite a few of them make me suspicious for one reason or another. For instance, there is a request by a 36 year old man, with no profile text, who lists his Preferred Age as 60-76. Now maybe this man really doesn't want to cuddle with anyone under 60. Or maybe he's just not a competent person and randomly selected options without paying attention to what he was doing. Or maybe he's some kind of bot (what the purpose of such a bot would be, I have no idea).

So that forum is basically a really long record of slightly insane people repeatedly failing to find cuddles, for years and years.

Anyway, no real point here, but I wondered if anyone else had looked at that forum and found it interesting or amusing?

    I have noticed the exact same thing, and pondered the same questions. My only conclusion is that the main purpose of that board is to act as a sort of dustbin for such such posts, so that they don't get in the way.

    One of the interesting parts is that these people have gone to the trouble of finding the right board: a few post in General, but the vast majority hit the right place first time. This demonstrates a level of thoughtfulness and care which is completely at odds with everything else.

    I think it's odd that there are multiple "stickied" threads for states/places (like SoCal) and then a mess of people posting the same states as all new threads (like AL) instead of commenting on each others.

    And then there are the ones that have nothing to indicate where they're located at all (not in the header or their post).

    It's a mess! If it is a "dustbin" then that makes perfect sense. But I'm also thinking maybe it's for pros to find clients to solicit....?

    @CuddleDuncan Good points. The dustbin idea makes a lot of sense. It really is funny that they usually manage to find the correct forum and yet seem to have no idea what's going on otherwise.

    It's not as easy to find, but there's actually a separate forum just for that purpose.

    IMO though it highlights the absurdity of the whole idea of a requests forum even more. If I want to find a pro cuddler in, say, Milwaukee... why in the world would I go to a big forum, look at one post title after another, page after page, trying to find someone that says they're in Milwaukee, clicking on posts when they don't put their location in the title... when I could just use the search function and easily find every pro cuddler in Milwaukee in about 10 seconds?

    I’ve always wondered about the usefulness of that forum myself and I’ve definitely found it amusing because of the reasons stated by the OP. Women sign up and are inundated with messages so why would any of them be looking at the request forum when all they need to do to get a cuddle is look in their inbox.
    And yes, the short, barely coherent posts that are there makes me wonder if the forum serves any purpose at all. I guess the people posting there are new members who just signed up and don’t know how this works and think that is as easy as posting a two line message and women will trip over each other to answer their post and cuddle them.

    Now the Pro Request forum is a different story because the posts there are actually useful with travel updates, availability and is a section of that forum I check regularly.

    Interesting. So how do you use that forum? Are there pros you already know and you just monitor their threads? Or you go looking for pros you don't know yet?

    @CuddleMeLater The answer for me would be both but of course that was before the pandemic, things are different now with travel not being what it used to be.
