Please be careful with clients who don't have karma

Hi guys. I really would like to suggest that as a pro you don't host anyone if they have no karma until you've met them in a public place first and get a good feel for how they are.
The problem is if you host and they turn out to be a psycho you don't want them knowing where you live.

Good point, @greenearth. I vet my potential clients for sticktuitiveness...if they don't put any time in messaging and us getting to know each other, it's a no go.

But also, I look at how long they've been a client and how full their profile is. I saw one whose profile was about as bare as Mother Hubbard's cupboard but had been on CC for a year--and had been online recently. Not touching that client with a 10 ft pole much less voing to his home! You should have some karma and friends within a month, I'd say, minimum.
  • That's good.  I hope others do the same.  I just wish we could get these clients off the site.
The problem with that is not knowing who they are.

  • @Starlight, interesting comments. But rules of thumb ("you should have karma and some friends within a month, I'd say, minimum.") are always problematic in my book.  Who is to say the guy didn't join the site six months ago and then not sign on again until two weeks ago?  How can you tell if he has ever reached out to another cuddler before? Or how often?  Perhaps he was initially determined to find a non-pro cuddle buddy, and failed. So after months of sending messages to amateurs and being ignored, he reaches out to a pro -- only to be dismissed for his prior lack of success. No karma and no "friends."  Just a thought.

  • So in that case what you could do is find a pro cuddler who will cuddle in the park or other public place with you.  Like a movie.  Go see a movie with those reclining seats for couples.  That way you won't be totally alone but can still cuddle and she will feel safe to cuddle with you even without karma.   That is one way i can see you building up karma.

But we should not expect pros to see someone without any karma just because it might not be his fault lol.   One bad experience can ruin a cuddler pros life and sense of safety and just isn't worth the risk.  But the cuddling I described above is reasonable in my opinion.

I wiped my friend list just because I'm my own person and I feel like id be judged by association. Friends list don't mean much cause I could just go Facebook style and send out loads of requests and some are bound to accept.
  • It's really sad that some of us are irrationally judged on of all places, a cuddling site.
  • I do feel that we should only be able to give karma to pros. The fact that anyone can receive karma leads to people not leaving karma for fear of retaliation. Pros end up not being properly rated.

There is no quarantee,a pro will even leave karma .
i am "owed" karma , or feedback , from a pro on this site . For two sessions .
if she does not want to ,or have time , fine by me. She is juggling a full time business , kids ex, fiancé, I'm not even going to mention it to her , and yes I left her some positive karma .

I was not planning to make any more comments on these threads but this is too important to ignore.  It is a matter of safety.  I am not going to engage in any back and forth discussion after this post.

I very firmly disagree about only professionals being given karma. I also think it is a problem with people not being very honest in the karma. I had a client who was very inappropriate and was banned immediately by @Mark  for his behavior.  That client had karma from another local professional and in the karma it mentioned "fluffy things 1 and 2" which could reasonably be assumed it was a cat or a dog, or some fluffy animal… Well it turned out "fluffy things" were breasts and the two of them gave each other karma talking about fluffy things in the karma! I even had an on site email exchange with that professional asking about this client ahead of time and she failed to tell me that he had his hands all over her breasts during the session, plus he groped and aggressively grinding and kept talking about taking off all of his clothes. He also called my breasts "fluffy things" during the hour. I left as quickly as I could.  I even contacted the professional afterward and she admitted that indeed "fluffy things" were his name for breasts,  she didn't seem to have a problem with all the "extras". The correspondence with the professional was documented and that client was removed from the site.  Sadly, she is still here.

I had another client who didn't have any karma until we gave each other, and then another professional had similar issues with him not taking a hint and his joking and laughing off several requests to keep his hands inappropriate places. She left the site.

And yet another client but he ended up being the BEST CUDDLER I could have ever imagined.  I saw him more than once and he has now become a friend who we've chosen to cuddle unpaid.  We gave each other accurate and honest karma, but again, he didn't have any left for him on his profile even though he has cuddled many times with other professionals.  He's a perfect gentleman and never once asked for a discount or extra time, he paid full price for each hour of cuddling and a tip!   This is a person who has the utmost respect for women, the women he has cuddled with, and understands this is a service that is worth our time and energy as professionals.

With the logic above I never would have made friends with or met the best Cuddler, my safety was literally compromised by the inaccurate five star karma with the humper/groper and I probably would have passed over the other client if I knew ahead of time what I know now.

     Accurate karma is important.

Karma vs no karma doesn't really mean much of anything

Make friends with other professionals and talk to them regularly, compare notes and be honest with each other. I have made seven really amazing girlfriends on this site and one truly amazing Cuddler.  I have also met five male platonic friends that I have not exchanged any money with, but we are in contact regularly.

Do your own homework, it isn't up to anybody else to decide for you if someone is safe, a good Cuddler, or a bad Cuddler.

And just because someone doesn't have karma doesn't mean they aren't amazing.

Just because somebody has five star karma  doesn't mean they are safe

     Thanks for listening.

@greeneart, It's sounding something  like a job search; can't get the job without experience, and can't get experience without a job. I am not talking about myself, by the way, as I am not without karma. But for every client there has to be a first time. If no cuddle pro is willing to be first ... that road leads nowhere.

The first pro I met here was @Angarca. She was not my first cuddle pro, just the first one I'd ever met from here. I'd met around a dozen from another site. Then I joined this place, and had never met anyone here. She agreed to cuddle with me, we both had a great time and left each other good karma. So I'm glad she was my first here. If no one was willing to be first (because I had as yet no karma), I'd still have none.  I'm all for meeting in a public place initially to talk and get a vibe from each other to see whether a cuddle is warranted. But I definitely would not pay someone $80/hour to attend a movie with me. Two and a half hours in a dark crowded room, where conversation is impossible and our attention is focused on a screen. No thanks. ;-)

I fully support the sentiment behind your original post. Cuddle pros (and everyone else) need to be safe. I just think there are too many inherent weaknesses in the karma system for it to be a real solution for cuddler (or client) safety. . IMHO.

  • Definitely think having several positive karma from several pros is better than no karma at all.
While it's true that a pros definition of a good client may not match someone else's definition the lack of any karma basically means you don't know anything about them except what they tell you themselves or you're able to glean from talking to them and trying to read between the lines.

  • @Fireandblue so your comment supports the statements I made on another thread regarding some pros offering other things giving clients the false impression that it's okay to break the rules. Thank you for adding this comment to further support my statement.
  • On amazon there is a review system for products that I find very useful.  While it's true that occasionally someone leaves a stupid review that turns out to be false that doesn't make the review system worthless.   Once enough positive reviews show up you can pretty much trust that the product is most likely fine.    The same can be said about karma on this site.   One or two karma could be totally worthless if the people leaving it have very different views than you in what is appropriate or not.   But having several ??   Seems unlikely that's all seven are clueless.

From the get-go I've never been a fan of the karma thing.

I fully understand it's usefulness and think it serves a purpose but it doesn't seem genuine to me.

I've only cuddled with one Pro and we agreed not to leave karma because neither of us were into it.

Hopefully I'm judged by my fun and semi-annoying posts on the forums more than my karma. ;)

    TOP ROPE!!!
  • Ok but I don't recommend pros just look at someone's public posts as a way of determining if that person is safe or not....nor should they solely rely on karma.   These seems like opposite extremes to me. Karma isn't always genuine enough to be used like that...but its not worthless either.  It does at least tell you that this person has seen that many pros in person for sessions and they all thought he was ok.  Now is it possible that all of those pros have totally wackie ideas of what ok is? Possibly??? but the more pros the less likely that is possible.

  • [Deleted User]chococuddles (deleted user)
I've known clients who gave good karma for sessions they didn't enjoy so I wouldn't be surprised if some pros did the same.

I wouldn't put too much stock on anything posted on the internet.  Karma, forums, whatever.

Pros need to be careful with every individual no matter how much karma they do or don't have.

You seem to be very intent on discrediting karma.   I don't think anyone has said that pros should rely solely on karma.  It's a helpful tool that is all.  It's not foolproof and it's not enough to trust someone without more evidence of them being trustworthy.   But it's certainly not meaningless.
I noticed you don't have any karma.  Is that why you don't want pros to care about it?

I think we shouldn't argue extremes.  Rather see something in the middle.   Karma is a useful tool because at the minimum it shows that this client has been seen by that many pros.  And they are still here.  Still a member of the site.   you said you know a client who gave good karma for a session they didn't enjoy ?  The point here isn't whether the session was good.  The point Is whether the person was badly behaved or did something against the cuddling rules.
A lame session that sucks isn't at all similar to someone who assaults you

Not "very intent on discrediting karma" but this whole thread is slightly discrediting those without karma.

As I stated before "I fully understand it's usefulness and think it serves a purpose but it doesn't seem genuine to me."

As FireandBlue stated before "Karma vs no karma doesn't really mean much of anything."

As Clerks stated "Just because they serve you doesn't mean they like you."

I don't have karma because I decided early on I don't want to do it because it doesn't feels genuine. Couple that with knowing people who gave fluffy, inaccurate reviews along with Fire's experiences and yeah. Just like the "Visitor Viewing" it's not for everyone.

    So I need karma
  • I really wanted to do that but I feel I have no choice but accept clients without karma and be willing to host or be a guest on the first meeting.. There are not many users who have karma and are willing to do that

Who, what, when , where ?? @kqlamityjane I think you missed the subject somewhere in your post.
  • I was so happy to get karma recently and then I noticed one of the wonderful professional cuddlers is gone !   That is so sad.  :(
I wish it still showed her name at least and not just deleted cuddler.

  • I was wondering something, let's say I met a pro on a different site, can we still leave each other karma on here?
  • Its a grey area but yes for now.
  • I am new to this but i hope i am not dismissed for not having Karma
  • @Keith118 everyone has to start somewhere which is why as a pro cuddler I personally can see both sides to this. I don't mind if someone doesn't have karma yet, but I would prefer a photo or a FaceTime beforehand and probably a public cuddle for the first time.

But it I won't turn someone away for not having karma.
  • [Deleted User]navyvet76 (deleted user)
Yeah QTPi public is good. Karma can be faked . I could easily create a fake account and give myself karma. Karma is kind of useless unless you know the person writing the karma
  • [Deleted User]chococuddles (deleted user)
    Totally agree navy.

I've known clients and pros who have fudged karma.  Some is real, some is fake.  So what's the point?

    Karma-free and lovin' it! ^_^
