Just got mine today. Fully vaccinated but still feel the same sense of caution, also slight guilt cus others are still waiting
Congrats @pmvines ! That is awesome.
(I haven't gotten vaccinated, but will as soon as it's available to me)
Every person vaccinated makes us all, including the antivaxers, just a little bit safer. 👍
Nothing to feel guilty about. Somebody had to be vaccinated person number 36,494,807. It's pure chance that it was you.
I have gotten my second Pfizer dose - about 3 weeks ago. I had one day of feeling pretty yucky, but since then I’m good.
@pmvines congrats on the vaccination! and your sense of caution is still very valid. while the vaccines are the best defence we have available, it's not some kind of indestructible armour that will magically make the virus disappear from the earth. and no need to feel guilty, in time it will be available to all who wish to be vaccinated. I haven't gotten it yet either, but am looking forward to when it becomes available to me too
@cuddleanurse I'm sure you get asked this a lot as a nurse, but what are the pros and cons to the Pfizer vs the Moderna? would you mind sharing some insight? thank you
Yes @dreamerj it Is a strange feeling cus you get it and you think things will be different but really nothing has changed. Still masking, sanitizing, and keeping away from folks. Time will tell.if it works. Only way to.truly know is if I expose myself in a manner that would surely make me catch it and then see if I get it or not . Which would be idiotic so wont be doing that ! Time will tell @CuddleDuncan you are right . I feel guilt because I am only getting it so quickly due to being in healthcare. Hell I didn't even have to make an effort I just went in when work called me and got stuck and that was that . No wait list or tedious qualifying assessment . I know there are so many more who if got covid it could truly be a matter of life or death. I wish they could get the vaccine as easily as I did @cuddleanurse I am really hoping I dont get side effects the first dose i got that tingly itchy feeling for a day and a headache but nothing major. Still.would rather usve mild side effects than covid though so it's a trade off . How long did your cruddy feeling last ?
@CuddleDuncan I completely agree. Every vaccinated person makes things a little bit safer for everybody else.
I got my second shot last week because I work in healthcare. Mine was Moderna. Zero reaction except sore in the arm with the first one. With the second, I had one day of headache plus nausea (similar to a migraine) and utter exhaustion. Second day still tired, milder headache. I didn't enjoy any of that but I took comfort in knowing that's my body reacting like it's supposed to and creating an immune response.
I received my second dose of Moderna Friday. Felt crummy for 36 hours and then was good to go.
Day 1 after dose . Sore arm. Sleepy but that's my norm for this time of day . Fingers crossed that I dont feel like garbage as I have 3 home visits one of which is a 2 hour drive
Yes
I'm getting mine in less than a week. Anyone around maryland want to meet up and cuddle afterwards?
Got my 2nd moderna dose today. My arm is a little sore but thankfully I’m not feeling sick like I did the first time around.
I now have temp, chills , severe headache and soreness. Fatigue. Took til today around 10 am to start now its prettybad should be better by tomorrow night
@pmvines please keep us posted, i hope you are feeling better.
@pmvines thats everything I felt after my first dose. Took me passing out in bed to wake up feeling better. Get well soon!
I had both of mine. Moderna. 1st one was a breeze. 2nd one was extremely fatigued, dizzy, and achy for about 24 hours the day after, but was 100% after that. Totally worth it!
Day 2 and feeling fine just tired . Woke up in pool of sweat having broken my fever . Took theraflu and melatonin last night and slept til.330 was still hot.and bad headache. Took tylenol drank water and woke up feeling much better
I get my first dose on Wednesday (17th). Then back surgery the following Wednesday. Then the follow up shot whenever after all that. I should be a total wreck for awhile but soon it will all be behind me. And for all you health care workers who may feel guilty for being first. DON'T!! You and all the front line workers need to stay as healthy as possible. The rest of us are counting on you! Thank you all so much for your service, God Bless You!!
