Cringe/Repulsion

[Deleted User]DarkLordChungus (deleted user)

What's the most cringe-inducing/repulsive thing that you've ever encountered on this site? This includes posts on the forum, as well as personal messages.

Another recent post inspired me to create this thread. Instead of dwelling on that instance of repulsion, however, I'll share something else:

It's not unusual for me to receive messages from fans, or those who appreciate my humor. It's nice. However, every once in a while, someone decides to take things a bit too far. They send message after message, going on about how funny I am. This happened not long ago.

The person in question felt the need to offer in-depth commentary on everything I wrote in the forum. They constantly praised me for the most insignificant of things. They'd gush about how much they adored my outlook. They'd send memes—anyone who knows me even slightly knows that I despise most memes—and would wonder why I never offered much back in way of conversation. It was clear to me that this individual was a bit obsessed. It got to the point where I neglected my inbox for a while.

Thankfully, they eventually got banned. It was weird and unpleasant. It reminded me of my time spent on Vampire Freaks as a youth; being assailed by emotionally unstable goth and emo girls who were in dire need of positive attention from someone they saw as being "dark and mysterious".

    I can see how that is uncomfortable, sorry for that experience.

    For me, posts that either show general entitlement, excessive complaining about personal issues ( though I'm sure I've made posts that are tangential to this, and I've vented on here from time to time, I try not to. the excessive complaining bit is more repulsive to me if they aren't willing to make changes to their behavior, or atleast acknowledge that their post is a blatant rant/vent), or reinforcing a double-standard that is unhelpful to society (or considered unhelpful to society) in a nonchalant way.

  • [Deleted User]DarkLordChungus (deleted user)

    @sunnysideup

    Thank you.

    The excessive complaining is bizarre to me. Especially when people divulge deep personal issues. It's like...why are you doing this here? Online, amongst complete strangers? It's weird and gross.

  • @DarkLordChungus, on a cringy side note, I used to work for Vampire Freaks as a promo girl, and would go out to Techno Goth and EBM shows/club nights and pass out swag, sign people up for mailing lists, etc.

    My “favorite” memory of a promotion we did involved handing out these branded Vampire Freaks condoms at a GenCon after party. They must not have wanted to spring for the premium packaging, as the condoms’ plastic wrappers were housed in these sort of fold-over matchbook-type cardboard casings, and I would estimate about 75% of them were stapled right through the center.

    I always imagined there was a lot of this happening the following year:

    I like cuddling. However I get a bit put off whenever I see people rant about how it is some kind of life saving miracle water that they would crawl into a deep abyss if they didn't have it . I see it on both sides, where some folks will talk like they can cure illness through their hugs. Turns something I like into snake oil and tarnishes the whole thing a bit .

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

    This might draw some hate, but ah well!

    I cringe when I see guys on this site repeatedly make comments (in the forum or in their profiles) that will throw up semaphores of red flags for women, and then act like it's some great mystery that they aren't able to meet up with any enthusiast women.

    Bonus cringe if they ignore, deny, or get angry over any explanations coming straight from women. Extra bonus points if they not only ignore these explanations, but ignore them in favor of their own speculations, or in favor of other mens' speculations, based on "wElL iF i WaS a WoMaN i ThInK iT wOuLd Be ThIs ReAsOn", pat each other on the back, and proceed to continue the endless cycle of never meeting enthusiast women.

    It makes my teeth hurt.

  • @DarkLordChungus Check your inbox. I sent you 23 messages explaining why you are so spot on. I hope you like the memes because I think you will like mine despite your revulsion.

  • [Deleted User]DarkLordChungus (deleted user)

    @BellaSera

    How horrifying. Thanks for the story, though! It got a chuckle out of me.

    @pmvines

    THIS. It always baffles me, and makes me wonder if there are some extra super special secrets to cuddling that I'm not aware of. Maybe there's a cult or something with this eldritch knowledge. But probably not. It's likely just people who are really enthusiastic about cuddling. Eh.

    @squeakytoy

    Your teeth must be in a near-constant state of distress.

  • @pmvines I have hugged corpses that came back to life so I fail to see the connection with snake oil. However, I will sell you a vial full of “FunCartel’s Hug Aura Oil.” It is only $30 for a half ounce and you rub it on your wrist and your life will change. Order now and I will throw in a bottle of “FunCartel’s Spooning Mojo Oil.”

    Disclaimer: These claims have not been evaluated by the FDA, CDC or the NFL. Manufacturer does not endorse cuddling with people who are Covid-19 positive as they are not dead yet and they could make you sick. Dead as used in this advertisement is defined as one who feels dead inside but who is not physically dead. All endorsements are bought and paid for—thank you FunCartel for the endorsement—and do not reflect the thoughts and beliefs of FunCartel.

  • @DarkLordChungus right ? I mean love cuddling but keep it in perspective and based in reality.. I have actually seen more than one person make the claim that they can energy heal you from 10000 miles away , and that they can cure both psych and medical conditions through cuddling. Not manage symptoms but fully cure! And there are people both desperate and foolish enough to believe them because they honestly believe they will die if interweb strangers don't cuddle them immediately

  • @FunCartel I can see a market for corpse cuddling

  • I happen to have a couple of spare corpses if anybody wants one.

  • [Deleted User]DarkLordChungus (deleted user)

    @pmvines

    I can see it now...

    "UGH this is such bullcrap! There are no freshies in my area!"

    "Why don't you just pay an autopsy tech to let you into the morgue for a little bit?"

    "PAY? That goes against everything that platonic necrocuddling stands for! Everyone deserves to feel the cold embrace of a corpse, and having to pay for it is exploitative and wrong!"

    @squeakytoy Your post may draw hate, confusion or complete oblivion. It will also draw much love 💖

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

    @xelda Aaaaww, ty! :heart:

    @DarkLordChungus I appreciate this. Also:

    "Corpses can enjoy as much cuddles as they want, living people will even pay to cuddle them! But corpses never ask to cuddle me :( Being alive is hard."

  • I was immediately repulsed by a man who told me he had booked a session w me just to get my phone number 😣 he booked it at a time I told him I wasnt available so obviously I canceled it immediately. When I told him I didn’t appreciate how he was acting he told me ‘not to put that negative energy on’ him.

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

    @Tersay Oh, ffs. What did he think would happen, you'd be all "oh tee hee you're so clever here's my #, bb"? Dude can take a long walk off a short pier. :tired_face:

  • @DarkLordChungus Oh, I've missed you. I luv it when the red wat-uh comes out.

  • [Deleted User]Tazman5307 (deleted user)

    So interesting!

    Some folks can be overly expressive on how a cuddler made them feel. It's holding and making that person feel safe. Calm down! What's the big deal?

    I play classical guitar. One day, i was just playing notes. Simple ones. No big deal for me. My best friend whom lived with me then, was a stage 4 cancer patient. The pain and agony of his tumors made him cry in pain.

    When I did what I did with my guitar, he rushed from his room and layer on the carpet with tears of joy. My music was healing his pain. He said I need to keep playing and heal ppl with my art.

    I certainly didn't tell to calm to f#& down, nor say its just a guitar note. Relax. It meant the world to him.

    On his last day in this Earth and in deep agony. I played the same notes. A smile was drawn in his face. It made a huge difference.

    So...keep saving ppl in what do. Some REALLY REALLY need it. They are not wackos...:)

    @Catloaf

    Ah, I remember you. Haven't seen you in a while. I'm glad that you decided to comment on this thread of mine.

    @Tazman5307

    That's neat.

  • @Tazman5307 if you are referencing my post , I believe you are missing the point but.thank you for sharing

    That “one” time (jk, several) when the trusty ol’ tank top and shorts just aren’t good enough. 🤦‍♀️![]

    Screenshot removed. I'm okay with recapping conversations, but please do not post screenshots which may inadvertently or accidently have identifying information. Thanks. [-Sid]

  • @valkyrievixen Ah... pseudocuddlus adultservus... Always sneakily camouflaging his intents, but still differentiating himself with his distinct mating call. "Wouldyouwearthis?!" "Wouldyouwearthat?!" "Ijustlikethewayitlooks!" Reminds me of this twitter account from back in the day, that's totally not a cop.

    @DarkLordChungus Thank you for the welcome back. I have been spending my time in city sewers preaching reformed neo Buddhism to old soggy newspapers, rotting piles of garbage, and diseased rats, which surprisingly make for very effective cuddle buddies.

  • @Tazman5307 if someone has tears of pain and then you play the guitar how do you ascertain that those tears are now tears of joy? How do you know that you haven’t inflicted more pain from your playing? Just asking because it sounds like a Moira Rose move.

  • [Deleted User]DarkLordChungus (deleted user)

    @Catloaf

    Ha. I'm certain that those rats are at least a little more enlightened than they were previously, thanks to your preaching. They likely appreciated the cuddles as well.

    Given the current state of things in the world, I might emulate you.

    Some cringey moments:

    Person A doesn't understand why dick pics are bad and isn't this a dating site? Everyone, please keep reporting these profiles.

    Person B doesn't understand that her bio can't say she does private shows or shares nudes. Everyone, please keep reporting these profiles.

    Person C gets official warning for breaking site rules and calls me "fag pimp" and he doesn't even see my "Bye, Karen!" message before he deletes. The coward! Please keep reporting those who can't figure out the forum and site rules.

    Person D keeps messaging another user, gets blocked, creates another account, gets reported and blocked, and doesn't understand one of life's basic rules: no means no, and women don't owe them a reason.

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

    Oh geez, yeah, I think you must have us all beat @Sideon . I can only imagine the rest of the blatant idiocy you have to deal with every day on here. :tired_face:

    And seriously? "Fag pimp"? Good thing he deleted the account, this isn't a site for 12 year olds.

  • @Sideon - Maybe person A is just sharing a picture of their face, but we all know what some guys can be.

  • edited February 2021

    Correction, @squeakytoy . It was "faggot pimp." I remember briefly wondering (we're talking nanoseconds)... "am I a pimp and I somehow didn't know this?" Then ADHD kicked in and I felt sad for the little man and I wondered if he'd ever been beaten by drag queens. But two nanoseconds later, after banning his account, I'd already forgotten his screen name.
