@valkyrievixen It's so obnoxious!! It reminds me of so many other "totally innocent" messages I've gotten on dating sites. You know, where they're "just curious", or "just asking a question", or "just looking for an opinion", etc. Examples:
"What if you found me in your room and I was only one inch tall? WAT DO THEN?"
"Do you like to step on bugs with ur bare feet? DESCRIBE"
%*#&
Like... you know where this is going, I know where this is going, just go freakin' pay someone for the kind of chat you're looking for. LOL
@Sideon
Sounds like a typical insecure hetero male, beefing like a coward on your territory. He's just jealous of your rainbow threads and cane.
I felt sad for the little man and I wondered if he'd even been beaten by drag queens
@Sideon Brilliant!! Maybe you nailed it
@FunCartel Too funny! Now if were my singing, it'd be tragic!
@valkyrievixen You either have a heroic amount of patience, or you were toying with that individual for fun. Hopefully you blocked and reported that individual, that kind of content is not appropriate for CC.
@sunnysideup I’d say a magical mixture of both! 😁
When I message someone trying to make plans such as call at or near a certain time during that day and they message back the next day or quite late without acknowledging or apologizing for how late they are replying. And just go like "sure, call me anytime". PS. Not on this site, read the post yesterday and forgot that bit. So this comment can be dismissed.
I think it was the fellow who asked if he could shave my legs. Not only do I not shave my legs, even if I did, some strange dude I've never met getting that weird and intimate verbally just ensured I'd never meet up with him. Eeeek! Wut?
I can't say I've had any such moments. At least none that I remember. More just disappointment, in lack of cuddles and myself for my insecurity and not wanting to be a bother.
An addition:
People who use the forums for dealing with emotional/psychological issues instead of seeking proper help elsewhere, and those who indulge such people by acting as armchair therapists.
This sets an unfortunate precedent.
A woman I met through this site once decided she wanted a, um, different relationship than just plain cuddle buddies.
I explained that I don't do sex or romance. She asked what I do, then—do I have an analog to that kind of intense relationship? I sighed. Because (as those of you who've been on this site a while may remember) yes, I do. "But," I typed, "I really don't think you'd like it."
She wanted to know what it was, of course.
I explained that people typically respond very poorly to the simple knowledge that I enjoy the things I do (even though I never chose to enjoy them! it's just a part of who I am, like the autism or my taste for cilantro), and so I'd rather not tell her. All she needed to know was that I wasn't willing to have that kind of relationship with her. "We're cuddle buddies, and isn't that good enough?" No. It wasn't good enough.
She demanded to know. At this point I found myself wondering why I'd ever given her my Skype. Sure, we'd had a good cuddle. I'd wanted to be friends. But this? This was maybe a little much.
"How do you know I wouldn't like it if you won't tell me what it is?" she asked, and although I told her it was because the odds of anyone but me liking it were extremely low and so it wasn't likely she'd be an exception, I had to admit she had a point. What if she could understand me? What if she could accept me? What if I could do other things with this buddy of mine besides cuddling? Not sexual things, note well. Just, well... my kind of things.
She kept pushing. And finally I told her.
Whereupon she freaked out totally, accused me of all sorts of things (including secretly being @DarkLordChungus), then blocked me.
A couple days later I heard her screaming my name (and other, less coherent things) in what sounded like unrestrained fury up and down the street outside my apartment. I guess she couldn't find my place, despite having been there before, and wanted me to come out so she could... I don't even know what.
I elected to stay indoors.
And you know what? I still feel like it's my fault. Like, I said no. Why didn't I stick to it? Because she wouldn't take "no" for an answer? Geez louise! Why did I ever let her talk me around?
See? My fault. For saying no, for not sticking to my no—and, above all, for being so weird that people respond to me like that.
Cringe all 'round.
@DarrenWalker It’s not your fault at all, you even told her she wouldn’t be into it and pushed you for a response. Also might I suggest calling the police if your safety is threatened; this person sounds like she has a screw loose, so stay safe.
@sunnysideup: Thanks, man. Doesn't actually help me feel much better, but I appreciate it anyway—and I've moved states since so I reckon I'm probably fine. And with any luck her screw loose thing was only temporary, too. Hormonal imbalances can really mess with your brain, I hear, and she was dealing with that, so.... [shrug] Here's hoping.
Anyway, yup! You get weird stuff (both bad and good) wherever there's people, I guess. Being here about six years or so, I've seen plenty of it. My standards for bad weird are super high now!
@squeakytoy Your share took my breath away. Nailed it. @Sideon I'm sorry for the shit you take on behalf of keeping our spacer safe here. Thank you for your service.
A Valentines Days thread that devolves into petty bickering and gets shutdown before I get to post my crappy Valentines song. Prepare to cringe:
PS, why are people more willing to trust a groundhog than poor Cupid?
@BellaSera What groundhog? Cupid poached Phil during a nighttime hunt. Phil looked like St Sebastian there were so many arrows in him. But Cupid made him love it I am sure.
@FunCartel, Killer St. Sebastian reference, brah. Looks like 6 more weeks of winter...
Looks like 6 more weeks of winter...
I reckon you must be from Deep South if winter could even hypothetically end already in third week of March for you !
I don’t like people who try to be funny but then don’t like it when people find them funny. Creeps me out.
Lately the thing that makes me cringe is when a forum discussion is started and a certain regular comes in fairly early on the thread and posts very negatively about the topic and those who adhere to those philosophies that are not the same as his. For example, there might be a thread asking who likes fried chicken, and this person would respond with something like "Everyone who likes fried chicken is clearly stupid and should have no right to live therefore I don't associate with them." In essence, her is very demeaning and insulting to almost everyone on this site most of the time. It makes me cringe because it can be hard enough to get new people to stick around, much less share their opinion. It makes me cringe because I think this site was created specifically to be positive and encouraging.
Ooh, a cringe! I found one! The idea that this site was created to foster a specific mood, rather than to help people of all types find somebody to cuddle with—yes, that idea is a thing that makes me uncomfortable.
I like this thread. I think what we cringe at (and what we don't) really helps identify who we can and can't cuddle comfortably with.
This is good data.
The site does not dictate moods, but it does strive for community and standards. If folks cannot start with that basis, they have no business here, @DarrenWalker . [-Sid]
I think that positivity for the sake of positivity is cringe-worthy. I think the notion that every belief is immediately worthy of respect is cringe-worthy.
The inability to call someone out directly? Makes me cringe.
Stop with the baiting, @DarkLordChungus . @creedhands gave you specific, on-topic feedback. You don't get to play martyr after opening the very topic of discussion. [-Sid]
OH SNAP
@Sideon That’s horrible! I am so happy that you banned his account. Sadly I know too well still in America currently if you belong to a minority group it’s constant harassment. I admire you an many ways. So happy that I love women but cuddles with you too! Take that all of the homophobic haters lol 😂 My moment sharing time. I started a forum topic wishing people who celebrate a Merry Christmas. One guy decided use insulting sentences assuming that I did not know that many places in the World does not live with Western or Christian values. When I responded back due to my education level, I am aware of the many cultural practices around the world another person accused me of a personal attack and that not all post apply to him (we all have forum topics that do not apply to us). It was sad that on the forum someone could come at me and in insulting way, basically explained how I knew cultural facts, diversity of forum posts but accused of a personal attack. I was coming from a well meaning place in the heart for many people this site that the holidays bring joy too. Yes, not everyone celebrates but from our perspectives as celebraters it brings much joy. Since then I have seen several people post holiday, forum posts, pictures and discuss Christmas and other holidays, with no objection. I have also posted in reaction to many forum topics and everyone else since then has been accepting and drama free lol Also I want to say that I interact with people of many different world views in general. My goal is for commonalities to bring us all together and differences not too divide us. Thank you! @DarkLordChungus
No, @DarkLordChungus I do not think every belief is immediately with of respect. However, after reading your posts under this username and @hogboblin, very few are anything other than negative, derogatory, insulting, trolling or just plain rude and baiting. Do I agree with all the viewpoints expressed here? No. But I don't take every opportunity to deride those who think differently than I do.
Inability to call someone out? @Sideon has repeatedly warned about personally attacking individuals, so I did not name anyone. But I'm glad you (and many others who find you cringeworthy) recognized the target.
@creedhands , I agree with you 100%, and I know who you mean, but I won’t mention any names!!!
Lurked these forums long enough to remember when the hogboblin account was banned and that there was almost a unilateral sigh of relief that the negativity that that account spread was banned, and not just from the casuals on this forum, even the gatekeepers and lifers.
Removed personal attack. Please don't, @NeuroDiversity . [-Sid]
The phrase 'making love' makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. It makes me feel genuinely uncomfortable.
