ugh feeling lonely & depressed. I'm so tired of trying
@Paradigm_Shift I completely understand how you're feeling. I'm in the same boat. The only thing that's helping me a little bit right is I will have my first cuddle session this weekend. I really crave and need in person interaction with people. But it's so hard to get these days, and my depression has been getting worse with each day. You mentioned that you're tired of trying. What is it that you're trying to accomplish right now in your life if I may ask?
Reported and reviewed. If one cannot be kind or respectful or compassionate, perhaps silence is a better strategy. [-Sid]
Same
@paradigmshift I’m sorry hun 😓 I hope it gets better for you! 🌸
Sorry you feel that way. Have you considered a paradigm shift?
Same.
That sounds really hard! Sending some virtual hugs your way from Australia. I know it might not help much, but rest assured there's lots of people in the same boat as you.
I realize you feel really bad and are prob looking for any sort of interaction or attention to help the way you are feeling . I want to express the importance of.finding qualified professional help . Cuddling is a cool activity but it by no means takes the place of that, and plenty of folks here can offer you various opinions and viewpoints but this is not a mental health site with mental health therapists. Even the few here that are , do not provide those services on this platform . Take care and good luck
@Paradigm_Shift I agree with @pmvines
Have to get on board with seconding the recommendation of a psychotherapist if you have the means to pursue that option to help yourself. I've been seeing my therapist bi-weekly for years now. It's not a magic wand solution, she really helps me identify when I might be thinking about different things in ways that are unhealthy or unproductive, she listens without judgment and responds with honesty from a place of caring about my health, and helps me keep everything in my life in perspective.
That said, therapy and "being better" is work, like actual work, but it can truly make a difference if you're willing to put in the time and effort to better yourself with your therapist there to guide and assist you.
Hope things start to look up for you and remember you're not alone!
Have you considered a paradigm shift?
@biancalovecraft FFS girl You gone made me spit my tea.
Yeah this place does not seem like a very supportive community here from the comments. Not really anyone actually offering anything rather just terrible opinions. Most are offensive in nature. Thank you though @TouchSanctuary , @sean2589 , @crony , @Sheena123 for at least being somewhat understanding. Even biancalovecraft however, I am not a fan of Alan Watts.
The rest of you. I'd rather not associate with. 10 words and they making these types of assumptions about me. Very toxic.
Closing this thread. May you find what you're looking for. [-Sid]
Maybe try articulating what you are looking for here because you are making assumptions of people that are only trying to help. @pmvines gave you some solid advice that was not condescending or hurtful.
When I am tired of trying, I take a break. It might be just what you need and once you are ready, continue trying. I don't know your struggles or what will help you, though feel free to send me a message and chat sometime if it'll help. I'll respond to you whenever possible. I'd also advise seeing professional(s) if you find that you need more help to overcome whatever obstacles and conflicts you are dealing with. You don't have to tackle all of your personal struggles alone. Even doctors need doctors. @Paradigm_Shift
Hi @Paradigm_Shift, I'm sorry you're feeling this way, it's horrible and unfortunately it's rare that people can actually say something that helps, because we don't know your situation or what you have tried.
There are a couple of threads with similar themes to this one in 'general discussion', maybe one of those will have some advice in it that you haven't tried yet?
As for people being toxic and unsupportive- I've read all of the comments here and I'm not sure why you feel people are being that way towards you? Everything I have read has been from people trying to be supportive. I can only assume your are taking it negatively as you are in a dark place right now. The problem is that nobody here is qualified to help with mental health problems in any kind of professional way, all we can do is empathise and offer sympathy. Throwing it back in people's faces will not endear them to you or make them want to help you.
Also (and this is something I have been guilty of in the past when I have been feeling depressed and low) you can't demand emotional labour of people, then be upset when what they can offer doesn't meet your standards. If people are giving you a gift (in this case, their support and advice) then you accept that gift graciously and move on. If you don't like said gift of emotional support (much as if you were given garish socks, or wine you won't drink) then you accept that maybe that person did the best they could do, but that they simple are not qualified. That doesn't mean they don't empathise with your situation, but it's like asking a shoe salesman for advice on jet skis. It might work out, it might not, but you can't be angry when you get advice that doesn't help you, from someone who isn't qualified to give the advice in the first place.
People here are generally very kind and supportive (there are of course a minority that aren't, as with all online communities) and being negative and aggressive towards people that are trying to help you will not work in your favour, I can assure you.
I'm sorry I can't offer more, and I hope you feel a little better tomorrow. One day at a time.
Your solicited advice is unwanted at @FunCartel
Whatever
Lashing out at people wont make your problem go.away
@Paradigm_Shift Oh I heard and listened to you loud and clear; for many here and all over, are trying to cope with these emotions. I'm in the same boat.
It takes courage to say we are hurting. I commend you for that!
Hugs dude!
Removing personal attack. Don't do it. [-Sid]
It's all to do with the energy you send at me. If you come at me with offensive or hurtful than I will give that in return. I'm a pretty easy going, compassionate person. However, That said I don't take peoples abuse, attitude unsolicited advice. Anyone's shit for that matter. I've dealt with enough fake people to see right through their b.s. They make out their good people. Yet how they come at people isn't supportive its abusive and offensive.
You asked, and you received answers. Liking those answers wasn't what you asked for. Personal attack removed.[-Sid]
Removed entirely. [-Sid]
@Paradigm_Shift - Dude.. What's your problem?
@Mike403 I wouldn’t go down that road with him.
Sorry things aren't going your way. You seem mad about and are lashing out at others who are not saying what you want to hear . I hope you find professional help . Dont expect people to fix you , you have your own work to do
@pmvines if you are not here for support, i think you are definitely not welcome in this community. Negativity doesn't bring one out of depression. @Paradigm_Shift This is sadly a time where there is alot of depression going around, I myself am struggling with alot of different things. It seems like you can get pulled in different directions. I found a few things have worked for me: *Exercising/Going to the gym: the release of chemicals can even briefly lift you out of a mood, and even if it's only once a day, that is a place to start at least. *Focus on a hobby you enjoy, which i struggle with, when i seem to not even enjoy what i used to. *set short term goals for yourself that you can obtain
Not exactly sure what your situation is, but even though the "trolls" will always be on here, there does seem to be alot of support with what i've seen on here. Keep your head up man.
@Paradigm_Shift. I have been in physcho therapy for years. It is very helpful in giving you the tools to deal with matter. Not sure why you posted if your not willing to listen to the pluses and minuses. There are no therapists in these forums.
@jdk1185 not saying what someone wants to hear and attempting to give constructive advice does not make one unsupportive. I've been here since 2016 and have had mostly positive interactions. However I do not cater to pity parties when someone is being reactive and lashing out . I dont condone the feel sorry for me or else mentally. I foster empowerment not dependence, empathy not sympathy. Disagree if you feel a different approach is better, but dont talk like you know me or my intentions please
