I'm new to this cuddling... what etiquette to follow besides the obvious?

First off, obviously comfort is a must. Obviously no sexual activity of any kind (which I kind of wrote off in my personal life) But if I do book someone, because... like everyone else, sometimes just having someone there is therapy in itself to know that we're not alone in this world.. emotionally and physically.

So without sounding stupid, can you help a newbie out? What should I expect? :)

    Welcome @samgao!

First, read the FAQ thread at the top of this board. All the etiquette you need is in there, and can be summarised as 'don't be a creep'.

Second, understand that it takes a while to find an enthusiast cuddle buddy, so take your time and learn your way around. Third, expect an occasional bump in the road: cuddling is new, and unregulated, and attracts people who have difficulties in their lives. It shows, and you'll feel it; but don't let it worry you.

Fourthly, choose your professional carefully, focussing on what they write and the karma they have, not what they look like. Talk to your professional, tell them you are new, and get to know them a little. If they are any good at all they will look after you. If they are not looking after you, find somebody else.

Lastly, remember it's your session. Always be respectful, never be uncomfortable. Expect as much or as little touching and cuddling as makes you content. Expect warmth and understanding. Expect acceptance. Expect a happy experience.

Do not arrange anything important straight afterwards because you will be in a 'cuddle coma', which is a state of bliss: be very cautious and careful if you are driving home, and don't operate anything more dangerous than a car.

Finally, take your time but there is no upside to hesitating. Cuddling is a good thing. You've already done the hardest bit, now just get on with it.

    TL:DR - what @littermate said.

  • Oh, and if you fart silently, don't say anything. Put a smidgeon of doubt in their mind.

If it's audible, apologise briefly and point out that it means you are relaxed and is therefore a compliment to the professional, because digestion occurs when the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system is operating. Ergo the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) is not.

  • @cuddles_ndream kind of.like burping being a compliment to the cook

Be willing to accept or provide a photo of your driver's license, vaccine record card, and do a vetting appointment either by phone or video prior to having an in person session.

  • And PS - most pros are used to newbies and can hold your hand through it.

Understand what you are searching for and follow the consensual platonic cuddling guidelines. Treat your cuddling partner rather with a professional or enthusiast with the utmost respect, and try not to overthink it. Enjoy!
