I created my profile here four weeks ago today. During that time, I have connected with so many warm and wonderful people, that it's just blowing my mind. I've always gone for quality rather than quantity in my relationships, but here I've found both. The outpouring of positivity that has come my way has been amazing and has really touched my heart.

I'd just like to say to those who are struggling to find a cuddle companion, take heart. It takes time, but in the meantime, you have a family here who will support you. Sure, there are squabbles and some bickering, but essentially we are all on the same page and from the same tribe. We are touch positive, warm, sensitive and loving people at heart. Every one of us.

Thank you, Mark, for providing us with a home.

    Yes, I see it indeed as an airport terminal before the take-off, before being able to fly with our own wings ( rather than simple "staying-in-touch" via the internet ) and before real touch is a given in our every day.
    I long for the adventure that come with the fun and discovery of the places I will go to, but this whole "airport" which I consider this platform to be for the opportunity and infrastructure it offers is already a place where I find loads of joy, purpose, meaning, beauty, people who want to do something similar and a place where dreams become a bit more "normal", a place filled with the joy of the journey to come.

    That is a great blog post, but I have a couple of questions. What would you do if the prospective cuddler didn't have the capability to video chat? Would talking to them on the phone be acceptable enough to proceed to the in person meeting?

    @I_am_Polylover Everyone has the capability to video chat. All it takes is the simple installation of a free app like WhatsApp or Skype on the phone or desktop if one doesn't have it to begin with. Refusal to do a video chat is often the sign of a scammer, and I generally view anyone who refuses to vid chat with suspicion.

    Phone calls are better than nothing, as far as being able to tell whether conversation will flow easily and whether they have a Nigerian accent when they have told you they're from Brooklyn, but it doesn't allow you to see that their real face matches the photo that they may have sent you or the one on their profile.

    Especially if it's a woman, keep in mind that she is trying to increase her comfort level with you, a total stranger. If you really want to meet a woman in person and this is what she asks of you, it's best to do as she requests.

    @spuds! It's great that you are mining the old threads. But please use them to stimulate your brain, don't just blindly resurrect them.

    I want to see new, thoughtful threads started by you. Not thoughtless remarks directed at people who haven't logged on for months.

    Ancient threads should only be revived if there is a really good reason for it.

    Through Covid I have not had a single cuddle. But I have established some of the most meaningful associations with the tactile people on this site. It has been a lifesaver. Last weekend my massage parlor re-opened. It was the first massage I've had in about a year. I have never been so unconsciously touch-deprived. But after the massage, I felt injuries heal and my spirit renew.

    So as a post Valentine I would like to say "I love you" to everybody on this site. Thanks for being here through this difficult time. And special thanks to @spuds for recognizing the universal appeal to this post. I welcome heartfelt appreciation, any place at any time for any reason. With me, you never need a reason <3

    As a side note, I took a look at the forum rules, and this is what they say on the topic of reviving old threads:

    Feel free to revive an old thread if you have something to add to it.

    It lines up with what @CuddleDuncan said, and I think that's a fair rule. But @spuds, I don't think your quote adds anything to this thread, considering how long the OP has been on CuddleComfort.

    I have seen no rule against resurrecting old threads. If there is then okay i agree do not do it. However it seems to bringing some new life and different people into the forum which i think is a positive.

    That guy is pretty much just trolling and getting off on people talking about him resurrecting old threads.
    People should start reporting him because he is not adding anything new or interesting to the threads with a yeah or in this case welcome to the community to a member who is not even active.
    If he wanted to actively participate in the forums there are plenty of current and active threads to do so, instead he is acting like a bored kid with a magnifying glass.
