Link to today's CDC recommendations on interactions between those vaccinated & those yet to be vaccinated.

Since these recommations have just come to light, how would u feel about the following situations?

  1. Two vaccinated members cuddling
  2. One member vaccinated, other not
  3. Pro & all clients vaccinated
  4. Pro vaccinated, some clients are,
    some not

Hopefully this will help us all make decisions, guide other members & pros alike as more & more are vaccinated.

    I think I overslept.

    Assuming it's just two people, I'm thinking it's pretty good even if just one person is vaccinated. Nothing in life is without risk, but with one person vaccinated I think that transmission is very unlikely. I'm not Fauci, so correct me if I'm wrong.

    @UCpaaHVg6u0: Apparently vaccinated people can still carry the virus in their nasal passages or whatever and pass it to others if they've, like, breathed in an infected person's germs—so it's a good idea to keep away from the unvaccinated anyhow.

    Don't have time to look up references for that atm, though: maybe I'll edit later.

    Edit: Here's an article from the BBC. Looks like yeah, it depends on the type of vaccine you got—and we still don't really know what's what.

    We don't yet know the detailed effect of each vaccine on transmission: the research is still in progress. You would expect vaccination to reduce transmission, and the early evidence is that it has a considerable effect. However, I don't think it's safe to characterise transmission as "very unlikely".

    This Friday I will have full protection, meaning I received my 2nd dose two weeks ago. Unless a cuddle client has also been fully vaccinated, I personally still plan on making masks mandatory for cuddle sessions.

    I'm not vaccinated and neither is the person I cuddle.

    I would expect the vaccine to reduce transmission, since coughing and sneezing are an accelerated way to spread the virus, and since those vaccinated show no symptoms of the virus, it should be harder to spread. But, it can also spread by breath (and touch), not sure how effective the vaccine is at curtailing thing part.

    @CuddleDuncan From what I'm gathering, the way virions would be transferred is by a vaccinated person carrying it from a third party, an infected individual, to the other unvaccinated party. Or even from the unvaccinated person to the vaccinated party, who then carries it to a fourth party, carrying enough virions around inside the nasal passages. For some reason that struck me as being very unlikely.

    As far as is known at this point:

    The vaccine doesn't completely prevent us from getting the virus, but it significantly lowers the probability.

    IF we get the virus, it is unlikely we will get it severely enough to require hospitalization and we are very unlikely to die from it.

    If we get exposed to the virus, we would probably carry a much lower viral load, which means we are much less likely to transmit it to someone who is not vaccinated.

    Given that information, which may change as we get more data, the CDC has issued guidelines that suggest two unvaccinated people (or a small group) could probably safely socialize unmasked. They are still asking people to follow the usual safety protocols (masks, social distancing, etc.) in public.

    Cuddling is very close contact. Under the current circumstances, once I'm fully vaccinated I'd probably agree to cuddle with someone else who is also fully vaccinated. For now, I would not cuddle with someone who is not vaccinated for two reasons: 1) If they are infected, it could still put me at risk and 2) I could be infected and put them at risk.
