    EDIT: I see the cuddle party topic/poll got moved to another thread, so never mind what I said here before - it's irrelevant to the new topic!

  • I did a Google search and found a few, joined 2, one I did not care for the layout so I left that one and been here ever since.

    I googled. "How can I find a cuddle buddy in London, I am feeling lonely" 🤷😜

    I did a Google search also. Several seemed to have cuddlers near me but when I joined them the cuddlers had not checked in for over a year. I joined Cuddle Comfort because even though at the time there were none close to me I occasionally make trips and could look in other areas. I noticed several new members close to me but I have not received any responses yet.

  • I can't remember. I think it was an advert for Nordic Cuddle, possibly on a dating app or Instagram or something. Anyway it was certainly them I found first.

    CC I discovered with a Google search, I was looking for cuddle websites.

    I learned about the website when I was signed up at the total trainwreck known as CuddleUp. I was googling alternatives since a lot of the people on there were flaky. It took me a year to sign up and back then I was pretty skeptical as to how a site like this was supposed to work, or enforce its rules. It took me getting groped and stalked on the other site time and time again with no help from the administrative team to realise that at least CC cares about the safety of its members. The site staff here takes more than enough action against people who are unsavory in my opinion.

    @Catloaf Seriously, the moderation team here is the bomb. They are freakin' awesome with this sort of stuff.

    I'm sure I found this site through Google, but I can't remember for the life of me what I searched for, or what gave me the idea! I'm glad I found it, though :)

    I read a news article about a 'weird new trend' for people to make money on the side; I think the article was about SnuggleBuddies. The article put professional cuddling in a negative light, but I didn't think it was weird. Snugglebuddies seemed like a poorly managed website, so I skipped over it. I would occasionally skim google for other cuddling communities, then decided to join CC sometime a year and a half ago. I was also excited to see that you could cuddle 'enthusiasts,' which the other sites didn't offer, and I was thrilled about meeting someone else that also just wanted to cuddle (didn't know how hard it would be to actually meet up with an enthusiast, though).

    I was referred to CC by my therapist.
    When she leaned over to me and said "You need touch therapy" I had no idea what she was talking about and thought she was coming on to me. lol

    @Mmart It's wonderful that touch starvation and touch therapy (as a solution) are being acknowledged and talked about in the mental health field. I love that. Hopefully we see more and more therapists who are aware of it and its impact!

    @Catloaf. I totally agree. But I was taken by surprise at first. Seems like there is progress being made in seeing touch therapy as an alternative to medication. which, BTW I am no longer on.

  • That is great to hear you were referred to CC by a therapist! Mental health is very complicated, and I have no credentials in the field, but I think sometimes what we're missing are things like touch, or the feeling of being accepted by your community.

    @sunnysideup
    A lot of people walking around with depression and or PTSD can get lots of relief through touch therapy/cuddling.
    I am talking from experience. No more meds for me. Its more about connecting with humans more frequently.
