Hmmm reading through these ideas I believe in my opinion its not that there is too much cuddling but perhaps not enough communication.
For an overnight cuddle I have started clarifying that we will be going to sleep at some point (depending on when we started). I'm also not afraid to, and encourage whomever I'm cuddling, to speak up when we are uncomfortable and ready to switch things up.
Also, of course, as long as cuddle time isn't interfering in life responsibilities such as school, work, family etc.
And course when we consider empaths, Introverts and ambiverts, they will more than likely need time to themselves to recharge after cuddles from time to time.
    Just my thoughts ☺

  • I don't believe there can ever be too much cuddles UNLESS they interfere with your day to day responsibilities (work, chores, exercise, etc).

  • We all need cuddles and conversation. I love the sessions that seem to fly by (not to hurry them away) because the conversations are amazing. I treasure my clients, they are so awesome to get to know.
The more we cuddle the less stressed we can feel, therefore there's never too much cuddling IMO. Bring em on🤗😁

  • OMGOSH>>>>> hahahhahaha

@FunCartel YOU ALWAYS GET THE GOLD RIBBON!!!!! Cuddledone--- orrrrr it could be CA--- (Cuddleholics Anonymous) "Hi. I'm Silly Sassy, I LOVE THE SNUGGLE!! Pass the candle" (Mr. Cartel I could escape in a snuggle with you LOSSO DAYS!)

@Ennea2HugU OH Man.... I get THAT! Of course anything that is so one sided tends to drain you (literally in this sense!) and deplete your energy without getting your tank filled back up. I know plenty of adults who think its reasonable to be that needy!!! hahahhaha

@waynewv TOTALLY get that. I can completely see where you are coming from (I ride and DRIVE a fabulous Vulcan) there is a molding together thing that happens sometimes and when it does it IS euphoric!!

@LyleLuvsHuggles wow...... yes. You have definitely had some interesting experiences!

@FlyingToaster @quixotic_life and all y'all... I think you are all spot on there are different situations for different people and we can go over the top with pretty much everything.

I have found recently in this little break I took, that when I had a cuddle that I was looking forward to, I could get through the tough adulting stuff a little bit more easily. Sometimes I'd have to remind myself to focus and get my tasks done before I could go play (like going for a motorcycle ride!!!) but it is a very different thing this cuddling world that involves closeness with another person in such a unique and intimate kind of way. (Especially in this world of slightly touch starved humans!)

It does seem that when there's more communication about desires from both parties it winds up being better all around. The romantic part is of course difficult, but we are all adults and there could be worse happenings than someone having unexpected emotions of love/affection toward someone I suppose. I feel like I learn something new about myself every time I have a cuddle. I wonder how Mr. Don is doing? I think I better pop over there and see what's happening!!

  • I would say it would depend on the person. Everyone has different tolerances and satiety points. For one person, 1 hour of cuddling in a month might be enough for them. For others, 8 hours a day, and still more!

If your skin starts to slough off from all the cuddles you're getting, that could a good indicator that you need to cut back. Otherwise, I think you're good :relaxed:

I think not enough would be a lot more of an issue than too many :#
Now seriously, I think (like everything else in life) once you reach a certain level - and each person is different - then... 'you're good'.

  • Omgosh.... @squeakytoy you are so dang cute in your onesie!!! I LOVE IT!!! Welcome to the site. I hope you have found some good friends and community here. There is beauty all around. Just a few thorns here and there but tons of fabulous right around the corner. "If your skin starts to slough off" 😂😂😂

@sunnysideup I agree!!!! Its so intriguing how touch affects all of us differently isn't it???

Some of us like Mr. @pmvines can go for days and days and DAYS!!!!!!!!!!! 💖 (that sounds so dreamy right about now!)

@Maverick07 OH MY!!!! Your profile pic..... so FANTASTIC!!!! hahahhaha that is AWESOME and welcome to the site for you as well. You have the sentiment of many many others I think. We all seem to be struggling with the NOT enough part. Hopefully everything is on its way back to some beautiful new connections. One thing it seems like we can all agree on is this pandemic has made everyone realize which part of connections they want to continue and which toxic ones they want to be done with.

  • @sillysassy Do I get another gold ribbon if I invent another reason to find myself in Denver again?

  • @sillysassy you are such a sweetheart - cheers!

  • Lately I’ve been realizing that I’ve been breathing way too much. Going to have to take a break soon I think.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

@GentleMan1111: Hyperventilation, huh? A paper bag might help you cut down a bit (stopping entirely isn't typically recommended—at least, not for long).

  • @squeakytoy extra cuddling would help deal with the pain caused by skin falling off.

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

@sillysassy Aww, thanks! You're right, this is a really fun community to be part of. I'm glad to have found it!

@sunnysideup LOL, this is an excellent solution. Who needs skin, anyway? It's full of pesky nerve endings!

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

    @DarrenWalker

I'd forgotten about that one!! I think there might be a relevant Oglaf strip for pretty much every topic at this point. What a freakin' awesome comic.

  • I think too much of anything is not good . It becomes routine, mundane even . With cuddling I absolutely want space after a while . And you cant realistically do it all the time as it would obviously interfere with normal adult tasks and functioning

@pmvines I think the Law of diminishing marginal returns can apply to cuddling. Each individual cuddled probably has an “optimum” cuddling level where the effort put into a cuddle is worth the gain ( emotional or physical) from the cuddle. But like everything too much of a good thing can be harmful or lead to burnout.

  • Ahhhhhh @pmvines you are so right.... too much of a good thing...... although chocolate. hmmmmm..... ok ok ok I AGREE!!
You guys are so stinkin' cute!

  • @sillysassy - I hate chocolate... ewww...

  • Yes, there is such a thing as too much cuddling. Cuddling strangers can become an addiction...to the point you don’t really care to see the same person twice...I have experienced this before. On the other hand, too much cuddling with the same person can also be a bad thing. When she starts giving you free overnights just because she enjoys your company...and you feel the same way toward her...yea it can get very complicated really quick. It is best to keep it business. But now that I have been doing this for a few years...I am beginning to wonder if that is even possible in the long term. Is it even possible NOT to fall in love with a person you cuddle once a week for months (if there is also physical attraction on both ends)? How much can you open up to a person, and them to you, and not connect emotionally as well?

  • Right now I'm in the mindset of "bring on all the cuddles." I Just found this app this week and had my 1st cuddle session last night. 2020 and now 2021 have kicked my butt mentally and emotionally so I'm needing to recharge myself of the lack of human contact from this past year.

  • @Mike403 O M G I don't know if we can still be friends. 😶 (I am so sad about this. Almost as sad as I am that there is someone in the universe that doesn't like chocolate?!?!??!?!)

@CuddleJay02 OH MY!!!! What an interesting perspective and topic for discussion. "falling in LOVE" with the cuddler at hand. I have such a different idea about this. (I am certain this will bring out some fangs here and there so please be respectful of everyone's unique opinions)

Personally.... JUST FOR ME..... I realize that I have a desire to LOVE ALL HUMANS. This doesn't mean they all get to be in my space, take advantage of me, ask me for an imbalanced relationship, etc etc etc. What it does mean JUST FOR ME.... is that I want to love this human that I have talked to online or interacted with or met in person just because they are HUMAN. So the idea of "falling in love" with a cuddler over time has a little bit of a different flair and does not have the same ring to it that it did when I was younger. I have LOTS of people that I have met up with and whether I plan on never seeing them again or seeing them once a month, in my MIND I would probably say that I LOVE them. I know that the L word gets confusing for many people so I don't toss it around in public or with the other person, but its not as black or white as it once was.... i.e. "I think I am falling for this person and enjoy lots of things about them so I must be IN LOVE with them" WOW I just realized I might be opening a HUMUNGOUS can of worms.... Maybe we can put this kind of interesting content over here in THIS thread...https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/7546/is-love-from-another-unsustainable-we-grow-we-change-we-age-we-die-no-shade-please#latest.

@KamikaziNinja86 WOW!!!!! What a fantastic profile! Welcome to the site and the idea of "just cuddles" An Axe throwing place?!?!??!!? How fun is THAT????? Congrats on your first snuggle and MAY THE CUDDLE GODS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!!!

    I LOVE HUGS!!!! :)

  • @sillysassy - I can't eat chocolate without feeling sick afterwards.

  • I have been thinking about this after talking to a few cuddlers and seeing all the new people signing up.

I know I am reviving this from awhile ago but it seemed pertinent.

It is sometimes hard to talk about how fabulous the cuddles are, because there’s so many people who don’t get to have a lot of snuggle opportunities.

I know this community is filled with different types of personalities, backgrounds and situations….

    Thoughts?

@sillysassy ohmygosh all those members above not here anymore!😢

I agree with you that it is challenging to communicate how fabulous the cuddles are especially on the forums because the forums are regularly influenced by many members who don't have a lot of opportunities ...

  • I think there's a beautiful kind of joy that occurs when someone waits a long time to reconnect with an exceptional cuddler.

As much as I like the idea of cuddling without stopping, I'm experiencing the delightful anticipation that comes from a countdown to such a reconnection.

I hate it when people necro an old thread because I see some of the cringy things I posted... such as hating chocolate. I don't hate it, there's just other sweets I'd rather eat.

I'd love to test this theory out but I don't cuddle enough
