Drive Inns and Cuddles

I recently drove past The Bourbon Drive -In near Paris Kentucky and got to thinking that a Drive-In movie would make for the perfect cuddle date. My question is what movie and what vehicle would make the perfect cuddle date? For me it would’ve been the bench seat of my 1991 F150 two tone and Jerry Maguire and my college arm candy.

    My car has a center console, but this is why I love movie theater cuddles. If you can catch a matinee or an older flick, there's a good chance you'll get the theater to yourself or at least have the back row or two undisturbed. Thanks to this site, I know exactly which theaters in my area have the removable arm rests, lol

    Movie theaters are perfect for first cuddles with someone new. As a female enthusiast, they're public enough that I feel safe but the darkness provides needed privacy. If something goes wrong and a partner is repeatedly violating my boundaries, it's easy to stand up and walk out, something I have had to do more than once. And the movie provides a ready topic for conversation if needed. It's perfect.

    I honestly wouldn't care what vehicle it is as long as it has enough room to be comfortable, and ideally it would be a movie we haven't seen before so we can discuss it after. While I can imagine that would be a great cuddle session, I don't think it would be ideal for a first session. The last thing you want to do with a stranger is get in their car. Movie theaters, on the other hand, are perfect!

    Oooh I love this idea!! I normally would shy away from anybody asking for car cuddles, but a drive in theater feels fun and safe.

    I LOVE MOVIE SNUGGLES!!!! @Biblioromantic It is very true.... Indoor theaters with those big comfy seats and armrests that go up are super enjoyable. Very safe place to meet and the movie helps with those first time jitters. Depending on the Movie.... (One time we chose AQUAMAN..... not the best idea thank you Jason Mimoa) but you can usually find an easygoing movie that you can watch or listen to and just enjoy the snuggle. Its also fun to throw blankets and a soft something in the BACK of a pickup and watch at a theater or park when you are outside. Ahhhhhhhhhh Movie Snuggles. There was a whole thread on movies and which would be the best/worst etc. HORROR movies.... NO THANK YOU! 🤣

    @sillysassy Great idea on the blankets. Heck throw a mattress, lazy boy recliner, sofa or chesterfield ( for our Canadian cuddles) in the bed of the pickup and do the snuggles up right in front of the big screen under the stars.

    I actually have a few of those "mattress toppers" (left over and now unnecessary from twin college beds) rolled up and stashed for just those occasions! Makes it easy peasy to enjoy comfy cuddles in a public area or by the lake etc. Have comfyness will travel!

    That could be fun, but I wouldn’t want to stay in the car. The console, gear shift, and parking brake would get in the way of any cuddling apart from simply holding hands. Now if you brought a blanket and lay on the ground by the car while cuddling, that would be awesome.

    @sillysassy Exactly! I think I actually did a first cuddle at a showing of Aquaman, and that was one of the cuddles I walked out early. I want to cuddle, not get groped, thanks. 🙁 Not the movie's fault, so I don't hold it against the very lovely Jason Momoa, lol

    @sillysassy, is right on. When we had a local drive-in years ago, a buddy (non-cuddler) and I would back in the truck, set up lawn chairs and “catch the flick.” A mattress & blanket setup would be great. As for movie...anything that shows how important human contact is.

    I'd love to try drive-in movie cuddles sometime. Speaking of drive-ins, where in the HECK are they right now? Social distancing and not being able to go to the theatre, you'd think someone would have capitalised on this by now.

    @Catloaf I was just googling this earlier today, after I saw this thread! I discovered there are a few in and around Toronto that are open right now (https://nowtoronto.com/movies/drive-in-movie-theatres-are-reopening-in-the-gta-march-5). But maybe there are some closer to where you are as well, so you don't have to brave our plague. :confounded:
