Thank you very much. My goal was to create a hotel that I would want to stay at—and that was the problem. Most persons disliked the lack of windows, carpeting, or anything resembling furniture fit for humans. Filling the baths with gravel didn't go over well, and the endless looping sound of pigs being slaughtered, blasted into every room through hidden speakers, was not at all appreciated. Don't even get me started on our free breakfast! Apparently it's "not cool" to suggest autocannibalism to most people.

  • A shame, @DarkLordChungus .... I'd book a stay-cation.

  • Who do ya hear, and why is my hotel a failure to you ?

  • And if I get to cuddle @DarkLordChungus AND @MissAdventurous sign me up !!

@DarkLordChungus Everything you describe here sounds fine, but it stands out to me that you don't provide much information about the bath gravel you have used. I am wondering if that is the problem. When investing in bath gravel, it is very important to select the correct grade:

    https://ozinga.com/blog/understanding-crushed-stone-grades/

I am guessing you used a grade of #8 or #10 for your bath gravel. Please don't feel embarrassed if this is the case, it is a common mistake of the bath gravel novice. I would suggest investing in a pleasant grade of #67 for your bath gravel. Any client who is a bath gravel aficionado will appreciate this attention to detail. I hope you found this advice helpful.

  • You need something smooth and small like fish aquarium gravel, not the kind you pave the road with as it does not exfoliate

To be honest, I'm less concerned about the coarseness of the gravel, and more invested in the colour of it. I am very partial to a nice shade of 'Fresh Sunburn' red.

These are good points, @pmvines and @BuggleBear . Aquarium gravel would make excellent bath gravel. And the color is very important. A vibrant red would pair perfectly with the endlessly looping soundtrack described by @DarkLordChungus.

  • aww, @shinysmile's account has been deleted. I wonder why? 😁

Oh no... maybe the teasing was too much for him  I was hoping he'd think it was funny.

So, what do you guys want to do now? OP left the site, and the thread's topic is open to interpretation. Want to post pictures of cool hotels?

This is the Montaña Magica Lodge in Chile:

  • Sweet! Yes, I say go for it!

That must sound lush to sleep in.

I am a little disappointed that there won't be photos of DarkLordChungus' hotel. I'm so curious how the self-service breakfast buffet goes, is it first come, first sever?

The entrance to this hotel is.... uhh....

    Dog Bark Park Inn, Idaho

  • The first is the Poseidon Resort in Fiji and the second and third are the Water Discus in Dubai:

  • Glass igloo at the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Finland.

    Aurora Borealis included.

Inverlochy Castle Hotel on the west coast of Scotland. Queen Victoria liked it. Distillery within walking distance, with Scotland's highest mountain in the background. (Those cliffs are where the sport of rock climbing became a thing.) And no, you can't afford to stay there unless it's your Christmas and birthday present.

  • This hotel (Chateau Avalon) is 20 minutes from me and it is a hotel billed as a romantic getaway with themed rooms (Egyptian, 18th century France, Fiji, etc). Has all the amenities—massage, sauna, bar, and restaurant. I have stayed there before and it is affordable during Covid.

  • @Sideon, it’s all fun and games until some looky-loo walks past your igloo...

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

Oh wow, all these hotels are incredible!! But why on earth did I ask people to post them while my city is under a stay-at-home order?! Now I've really got cabin fever.

@BellaSera All those looky-loos will be safe, they know people in glass igloos won't throw stones :relieved:

  • @MaullySterling I didn’t know Prince owned a hotel

  • @FunCartel LOL. The spawn insists on a purple pallet, so we were looking for ideas.
