This post has been very informative! I’ve NEVER rented a hotel room for any of my sessions. When I first started as a pro, a couple years back, I’ve always did outcalls. It was convenient for me as I live in Las Vegas, so 99% of my clients are visitors so they already had a hotel or airb&b, so it wasn’t an additional cost. I don’t necessarily have a favorite hotel as it’s hard to choose from since I’ve held sessions all over the Las Vegas strip as well as some AirB&B’s. I used to host for about 6 months at the time that I started in my home (I wasn’t mobile at the time) but I have small children and having different people in and out of your house isn’t the best option. When I travel and go on vacation, is when I already have my hotel room or an AirB&B already booked, and that’s when I do I host. Worse case scenario, if I had to do my own hotel room, I’d stack as many sessions as I could to justify the daily rate.
Reading some of these posts has opened up alternative options for me so I’m very appreciative!
@BelizeanQueen , the hotels especially on the blvd. are very inexpensive or cost nothing at all for the guest in a lot of cases. So that’s nice 🙂 I like the Cromwell! It’s got a different vibe to it
@OhioMike I guess I’m blessed that I live in such a touristy area that we don’t need to have that additional cost on either end 🙃 The Cromwell is one hotel I have yet to see (as far as their rooms are concerned). Pretty soon the hotels will open back to full capacity and I know it’ll bring alot more business so I’m excited!
@BelizeanQueen yeah the Cromwell is really small even though it’s on the strip across from Caesars and next to flamingo. It’s easy to walk right by it and not see it at all the rooms are really cool. 👍
Yeah, I go to the Cromwell for other reasons (dayclub/nightclub), just never to book a room. I’ll have to book it one day just for the experience!
Having said that I never heard of the day use idea before, so to a certain extent I am talking out my rear end, I suppose whatever hotels the pro's client is comfortable with will do, as long as it's not an el cheepo fleabag. I had one cuddle sessions at a Residence in, and a year two later I hosted an other pro cuddler at a Homewood Suites, but that was because they are my preferred brands of hotels.
This is a really neat discussion. I especially like the Dayuse and DaybreakHotels suggestions. My question is, has anyone had luck renting a small office or meeting room by the hour or day at a WeWork type establishment? If so how was your experience in dealing with them?
@OhioMike My work functions normally book Marriott but when I'm travelling solo I too prefer the Hilton chain - they have the best beds/mattresses, according to my lower back, which also helps with cuddle comfort (no pun intended) ;-)
All the times I’ve cuddled have always been at my place & another time at their place … I agree yes that no one likes the added cost of getting a hotel room ect but it is a necessary added cost should either party not be able to host & that’s regardless if its enthusiasts or pros … I wouldn’t mind a hotel as long as its a non-sketchy one (sketchy meaning in a rough neighborhood/ by the hour / ect) but totally not against it.
I had a day use experience a little while ago.... It was only $45 from 8-1. One of the biggest problems with day use is that you can't always count on it and make a plan ahead of time. Its an interesting thing that you brought up @MattsWeather about "looking sketchy" I've been pondering this. When I asked the hotel I just said "I need a few hours to meet with a friend who's in from out of town" Completely truthful without moving to the explanation of platonic snuggles. If they were to ask I would LOVE to explain it in order to further the awareness of the cuddle world but I don't always think people have a DESIRE to know everyone's business. They're renting the room and its sort of impolite and unprofessional to say "what will you be using it for?" When you said a PRO might have "10 clients come in and out of the room" Its unlikely that they would even use a "day use" rate because that would ---I assume---- be at LEAST 10 hours of room use even if the clients were a revolving door. They would be booking something for a longer period of time I would imagine. Even so.... for a PRO it might be completely reasonable to "be up front" and say I've got some client meetings throughout the day if THEY felt it necessary or if they wanted to build a long term rapport with the hotel staff. What we are doing in the cuddle world doesn't need to be secretive just because its non-traditional..... I think that is WHY people think its sketchy. If we can't feel 100% ok about what this is then how can we expect anyone else to? On a side note..... If I am meeting someone, they don't even have to check in at the front desk... they just go straight to the room.... No need to say "I'm next in line for so and so."
I do always say honesty is the best policy but at the exactly same time I say "Is this actually anyone's business?"
I was also thinking about other indoor spaces.... especially for the newer type connections it is fun to go to a restaurant that has big huge booths or chairs around a fire place so that you can snuggle up next to someone and still be in public. Swimming pools or hot tubs create great connections as well. We wouldn't think twice about people sitting close if they were dating or married etc.... We just seem to think everyone will object to it because we don't have that kind of label on our closeness.
