Not super deep, but I think a potentially useful conversation starter as some of us start trying to figure out how to reincorporate touch into our daily lives...

Thank you for sharing this. I used to live in Dar Es Salaam and it brought back so many memories. Touch is such a big part of the culture there and I miss it so very much. Community, family, connection. You often start every greeting with a handshake and question “habari...” (how is...your family, your parents, etc). that then becomes a face to face hand-hold discussion. If you are traveling somewhere then hand holding while walking. Normal. Beautiful. And crammed into their dala-dala minivan style busses. All parts of you touching someone. Right up my alley. That connective hive feeling.
Cuddling does this for me because most of my friends don’t understand my connective nature. So finding people who do get it makes life so much easier.
When I visited Argentina, I loved how a man greeted me with a kiss on each cheek.
Very nice article, thanks for that.
What a lovely article and a fabulous perspective!!! Thank you @NYCLatnGuy for always bringing insightful, thought provoking articles to the forum.
