What to wear cuddling?

[Deleted User]Chris55555 (deleted user)

I wondered what you prefer your cuddle buddy to wear?
I like soft clothing on my cuddle buddy. Otherwise I don’t care what my cuddle buddy wears. I tend to wear workout clothes because that’s what I am comfortable in. Example capri leggings, tank top, sports bra.

  • I typically shorts or soft pajama pants with a soft t-shirt or tank top.

Unless the client repeatedly asks what I'm wearing or is overly pushy about attire , then it's snow pants and a long sleeve t-shirt layered.

  • I wear workout clothing as well. A tank top with yoga pants or a tank top with workout shorts. The client typically matches me in terms of no heavy clothing like a t-shirt and shorts.

If you search the discussions, you will find a couple threads addressing this.

My current go to is cat hair and melted cheese. Because I want to be irresistibly petted.

@creedhands Asking for a friend but do you have any advice or tips on removing that particular combination from say a bellybutton (big time innie).
And do most cuddlers consider the bellybutton off limits during a cuddle session? I can’t seem to find anything specifically addressing our umbilical stumps in the FAQs.

  • I ware a snowmobile outfit, with a large parka
Gloves and a good set of boots

  • Bubble wrap for the noises , fencing scruba mask to protect from germs, and beef jerky tassels for snacking

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

@pmvines The fencing scruba mask would also prevent your cuddle partner from popping the bubble wrap on your nose :relieved:

@squeakytoy hmm I may need to rethink it then cus that is he most fun part of it all

@admirer97_ yes. I put a Mentos as far into the belt button as possible, then slowly drizzle vinegar for approximately 3.4 minutes. This loosens the mixture. Then I pile live ants as bait for an anteater, which then sucks up all ants, and the cheese, cat hair, vinegar and Mentos mixture.

And in my experience, belly buttons are generally off limits to cuddlers.

    Edit: spellings

  • [Deleted User]admirer97_ (deleted user)

@creedhands is that 3 to 4 minutes of drizzled vinegar or 34 minutes of drizzled vinegar?
And how do you find an anteater that doesn’t mind getting cat hair stuck between his or her teeth?
Sorry for all the questions. Confusion is the path towards understanding.
Real bummer on the belly button thing.

  • So, here's a funny question from a pretty darn gay man who doesn't have a lot of experience with women but likes what feels nice: do you think a potential woman cuddler would mind if I asked her to wear a sports bra or no bra instead of one of those foundational bras with the sturdy straps and clasps? The reason I ask is that I cuddled with a woman who wore a bra like that, and the texture of the bra was hard and un-cuddly for me when I hugged her and rubbed my hands over her back while hugging. The last thing I would want to do is offend a woman or tell her what to wear. Can you women and men with more experience cuddling women suggest how I might communicate my wishes? And are there other women and people who cuddle women who agree with me about what makes a cuddly bra? Also, what about wearing no bra? I don't suppose it would go over very well if I asked a woman not to wear a bra, but are there any women here who like cuddling without a bra on?

  • @Envie - funny!!! But probably a 'no go' when a potential client insists on those questions.
I prefer some comfy gym shorts and T-shirt (I've been careful about even wearing a tank top)

Since I'm into formal clothes, I myself wear and prefer my male cuddle partner to wear a long sleeved button up dress shirt and slacks at a minimum if they want, they are welcome to roll up their sleeves and open their shirt one or two buttons down but no more than that. But again, I've cuddled (and even slept) in a full suit and tie and enjoyed it very much! :-)

I prefer very light silky soft clothing if cuddle partner is comfortable and also no jeans or anything hard as we are supposed to feel comfortable. Tank top works .

  • @Cestrius Do you prefer an ascot for more casual cuddle sessions, maybe, or perhaps a bowtie? If a traditional tie, is there a particular knot you find works best?

  • @nurturingman I'm entirely with you on the bra straps point. They can be surprisingly effective at disrupting a perfect cuddle. I will defer to women on how to approach the question, but I suspect that asking for anything is not the way forward. Perhaps better just to mention the difficulty - she may not be conscious of it - and see how the conversation goes.

In my experience it is quite common for women to cuddle bra-less. In such cases they usually wear relatively long, thick tops.

  • Does anyone know what type of bra @nurturingman is saying is bothersome for him when cuddling?

If you develop a good connection with someone who you find tends to wear that type of bra a lot, I don't think she'd find it offensive if you asked her if she'd be able to wear a softer type, because that that type of bra is uncomfortable for you when cuddling. Asking her to wear none can send her strong red flags however as it is quite invasive.

  • @nurturingman @CuddleDuncan Unless you have a clearly established cuddle relationship (at least 3 sessions), please do not talk to a cuddler about their underwear.

As a person who wears bras, there is a lot more that goes into what we choose to wear than whether or not it will disrupt cuddling. Support, our own comfort (try having underwire stab you in the middle of a cuddle), preventing slipping, etc. - there are many people who would not find the sort of bra that meets the expectations you described at all comfortable to wear. Not to mention bras can be very expensive - someone may not be comfortable dropping $30-100 on a bra that is only functional for cuddle sessions.

Basically, no cuddler should have to justify their functional underwear choices to you, so please tread very carefully here. If you have to bring it up, make sure you know the cuddler well, acknowledge that as a non-bra-wearer you're inexperienced in this matter, and accept whatever informed decision they make.

  • @Lovelight my guess is @nurturingman is speaking of underwire bras (which for many people, is the only type of bra that provides sufficient support).

  • @desi_babe good advice. :)

  • @desi_babe --- agreed. I can't believe we are talking about bras.

A forum like this is a fantastic place to discuss uncomfortable clothing and learn. I actually wore a very strappy sports bra today at a cuddle. I didn’t realize it makes ridges all over my back and never thought about it until my cuddle buddy mentioned it was bumpy.

Hearing about the bra issue is helpful for me as a woman. I’m thankful to be made aware here on a general forum. However, if someone asked me to take off my bra in a cuddle I would take it as a sexual advance rather than a comfort request.

Out of my three cuddles since joining here, I’ve worn a t-shirt, gym shorts, and socks. I think my feet are gross, and it feels nicer for playing footsies.

I see tank tops are popular for the ladies to wear, but what’s the consensus for a guy to cuddle sleeveless? Without sleeves, I feel more macho than nurturing, and therefore stick with t-shirts for a session. Am I too much in my head here?

  • @ZacRedBear yes. I don't even consider sleeve length, although I most often wear a tee shirt which is obviously short sleeves.

Also, where is the 'you being nutured' in all this?

Thanks for all the responses. @Lovelight & others, I did a Google image search and I think this photo shows pretty much the kind of bra that I’m talking about with the multiple eyelet-and-hook clasp and the strap adjusters and all. If the bra is covered in lace it can have an even rougher texture.

I totally hear you on how asking a woman to take off her bra would probably not be a good idea. 😅

I wonder, if the ladies who mentioned wearing a T-shirt or a tank top but didn’t mention a bra don’t mind sharing— does that mean you don’t wear a bra? I don’t mean to be offensive by asking. I just want to understand. @Envie @BelizeanQueen

@ZacRedBear thanks for sharing. I usually like taking my socks off because I love to rub my feet on my cuddle buddy’s feet and calves. Feels nice.

I had a cuddle with a man in a tank top and I actually liked it better than a t-shirt because my face rested on his shoulder and the face to shoulder skin contact was nice and made me smile.

@CuddleDuncan Thanks for the reassurance! I’ve always tended to put my comfort ahead of others’. However, I’ve only recently become physically confident, so just the thought of being comfortable in a sleeveless shirt has been a nice emotional boost. I guess that’s where the self-nurture is? 🤷‍♂️

Thank you @Chris55555 as well! I might just start offering the option now.

@nurturingman I hope your google ads don’t try to sell you bras for too long 😆

I've only cuddled with one person, and she was wearing yoga pants and a sports bra under her top. Felt fine for me. But reading some of these responses I'm wondering if I should have been wearing something else. I wore jeans and a tshirt. I didn't really think about it until after, but I can see how jeans would be less than preferred for a cuddle partner.

What do y'all think? Jeans and a t-shirt ok for the guy? Or y'all prefer the guy to be in shorts? Pajama pants?

  • @cookiefiend jeans and tee shirt is 100% fine.

Shorts are mostly fine but you should check. Jogging/yoga/sweat pants are fine. Pajama bottoms are generally fine with underwear.

None of this really matters as long as your heart is in the right place.

  • @nurturingman

Most ladies here are going to wear a bra. It's to help maintain some modesty and comfort on our end.
No bra when we are alone or with our partners is fine. No bra in close contact with a stranger even in a platonic but intimate setting can give the wrong vibe for some, especially if they are on the bustier side.

I wear a soft halter bra, or a sports bra with minimal straps and clasps.
