Grilled cheese sandwiches (fancy or basic), lobster bisque, waffles, and homemade macaroni and cheese are the first ones that sprung forward at me. And now I'm kind of bummed I'm stuck with salad tonight! Lol.. Happy Wednesday to all you forum folks. 👍
Beyond Burgers with seasoned fries.
Salty/greasy foods - Lasagna, nachos, mac n cheese and soups - pho, ramen, lobster bisque
Chicken parmigian is the ultimate comfort food...angel hair pasta or regular spaghetti. Grilled cheese and tomato soup= classic. @Shauni83 agreed on warm chocolate chip cookies- when the chocolate is perfectly melted with a tall glass of milk perhaps?
Thanksgiving dinner is also my favorite comfort meal.
Marrow drawn from the bones of my defeated enemies.
@jasmineluv agree, or plain chocolate and milk for sure
Baryani always my favourite
@DarkLordChungus As long as you make a soup out of it. Soup made with marrow is really tasty
@sunnysideup LOL!
"What's your favorite comfort food?"
"Enemy soup."
"Oh, anemone soup? Yes, I tried that when I visited..."
"No, enemy soup. Soup made from the steeped marrow of the bones of my enemies."
"... "
Ha ha, I second what @bekah_cuddles said about "any combination of carbs and cheese," and I would generalize what @Shauni83 said to make it "any combination of carbs and chocolate"!
It's cool to see so many other ethnic foods being mentioned too! Speaking of ethnic food, a good matzo ball soup with chicken, carrots, and celery is a heartwarming favorite of mine, having grown up with Jewish soul food in New York.
@squeakytoy an enemy soup
@sunnysideup @squeakytoy
Nah, I simply crack open the bones and suck out the marrow. Then I spit the marrow into a pot and cook it a bit, so it gets that nice pudding-like texture.
A six pack of pint sized chocolate chip cookie dough. Num num num.
@DarkLordChungus Mm, mm, nothing like a little amylase to pre-digest your soup while it cooks.
@CuddleDuncan sounds good.
@Ahmedali999 Okay, I'll put it on my list to try. ^^
I like philly steak and mozzarella cheese😋, with a lemonade. I'd add fries if they are fresh and crispy
Chocolate in all it's forms, though honestly I think I call it comfort food because it gives me another excuse to eat it rather than it actually being comfort food. I did crave warm sugar in my second pregnancy while my marriage was going through a lot of stress and falling apart. Apparently I needed easy immediate energy and emotional comfort that I associate with warm food (I think because it means someone made it for you) Chips and salsa with a giant glass of milk are definitely a comfort food because of the nostalgia they are steeped in. My sister and I would read books to one another as we munched on chips and salsa for a whole summer.
Coffee y pan. Since I was a kid it was always a comfort for me because it meant waking up in morning with family before the day started or having a cup before bed. Now as an adult it’s for having a connection to my mom who lives in a different city than me. My bestie and I also do this for when we have chisme to tell one another in person or apart.
I recently learned how to make Turkish coffee and I'm just living for it. It's so delicious!!
(Actually, I think I'm gonna go make some right now, I don't care if I'm up all night )
Chocolate chip cookies are probably my favorite!
Nice warm cup of coffee ☕😋
Tacos or Indian food for me!
Italian. Ice cream is also a good pick.
A big plate of gabagool.
Lasagna or Ben & Jerry’s milk and cookies ice cream. I’ll also accept a nice big bowl of yakamein 🤤
Poutine 🤗
