Exactly! @pmvines I'd add sometimes compromise is not an option and the decision to go separate ways needs to be discussed and respected. If it isn't something that one of the partners can easily give up. I think if people feel the need to force or fight for their partner's acceptance of something then more than likely the acceptance/comfort that may be expressed wouldn't be genuine and sooner or later it will show.
To give my two cents,
as a currently single enthusiast, it even hurts so much to think of (if I had a partner) that he'd go cuddle others. Though I'd have respect for him and it'd hurt less to let him go if he expresses such interest openly with me first. In a monogamous relationship, I want someone whom my intimacy is enough for and vice versa.
From a male perspective I can't blame the guy. It does not even have to be jealousy. Most men are probably going to want cuddles from their gf or wife reserved solely for them. Otherwise there is always going to be that what if question in their mind. Don't be surprised if your bf goes looking elsewhere over you cuddling. Figure out which is more important to you and go from there.
So I have taken on the gay bff of my cuddle buddy that was my best friend too. Sorry you are having this strain on your relationship especially if you do this because he does not like to cuddle🥺
I recently broached this subject with my partner and he does not approve despite my PRO status. We haven't been together very long, so I can understand the hesitation but at the same time there is absolutely nothing he needs to worry about!
I think it’s not so easy as to say someone’s partner has nothing to worry about. Some, in my opinion, if not mature enough could easily mistaken or misunderstand the feelings of intimacy in a cuddle for something else. So it may not be you your partner is concerned about but the other parties. I think honesty and transparency are crucial. Good luck everybody.
