Favorite food to cook😋

[Deleted User]percilla_law (deleted user)

I don't know why but I've been wanting to do this post for a while now. The Tasty app from Buzzfeed has been my go to since I became vegetarian & I know we have some foodies on here so tell me what's your favorite food to cook ☺.
It can be anything from specialty ramen noodles that you made yourself in college to something you think is food network worthy lol. Have fun with this one and feel free to drop the recipe if you'd like so others can get creative in the kitchen.

Hormel 3 lb canned ham. Push a bunch of whole cloves into the top. Put on pineapple rings and pour in the juice. Then pour a whole jar of Reese ham glaze to cover it all. Bake at 350 for 1 hour 30 mins
    other choice is
Hursts Hambeens 15 bean soup with bone in ham
let the beans soak over night and in the morning boil them for 30-45 min then drain.
Then put the bone in ham in the crock pot and pour in the beans around it. pour in enough water to cover. put in the flavor packet
cook on high for 8 hours

    Do you do chia pudding?
    Overnight oats?
I do an amazing lemon cheezecake from cashews, with raspberry coulis.

What are some of your go-to dishes?

  • Friday is pizza night.
Today I did BLT with diced cherry tomatoes, finely minced bacon strips, and fresh baby spinach, roasted red pepper, basil, garlic, mozza, on a fresh thin crust.

For the spawn, toppings included feta, grilled chicken, red pepper, bacon.

I make some pretty good crab cakes, if I do say so myself :relieved:

  • Brazilian barbecue (especially "picanha" on the grill)

  • No cooking involved but I make the most delicious fruit salads.

@MaullySterling - This is one of the more involved recipes I make for raw events only. Watch it on the salt though. You'll notice that between the vegetables, the sauce, and the miso, there is a ton of salt so be careful. Once I did put all that salt in which trashed it, so I placed the whole thing in a large jar with a clamped lid for 5 days... it turned into the most amazing fermented curry ever.

I eat upwards of a pound of dark leafy greens a day, so my go-to tends toward whatever I have to add to that which is pretty random.

Over the course of a day, I keep track of what I eat on the Nutritionfacts.org "Daily Dozen" app, but not in the portions they suggest. That would be way too much food. But I shoot for every food group on that app.

I tend more toward flax than chia. Rolled oats are not raw, but I do soak whole oats on occasion.

  • I’m a sucker for soup and my instant pots are great for them. I just have to remember that my kids don’t always want soup.

I have a corn chowder that I really like as well as a copy of olive garden’s zuppa toscana.

  • My favorite thing to cook is whatever is on my mind. Home made pasta is one, especially if I have duck eggs available. Desserts. Home made pizza. Cooked some salmon on the Weber Kettle the other day, anything on the Weber Kettle is my idea of good eating.

  • @Babichev salmon on the grill is sure tasty love it!

Bacalao (salted cod). It’s fun reconstituting and making it edible. With potatoes, olives, peppers and a tomato base. It brings me back to my youth.

    Dark Lord Chungus's Authentic Quesadilla

It can be very difficult to find authentic Mexican cuisine in the Midwest. Here's a simple meal that will wow everyone at your next fiesta.

    You'll need:

A tortilla (or some other flat type of bread).
    Shredded cheese.
    A pickle spear.
    Mayonnaise.
Hot sauce (if you like to live life on the edge).

Put the shredded cheese on your tortilla and place both in the microwave for about five minutes. Remember to turn the microwave ON. This will melt the cheese.

Place one pickle spear atop the melted cheese. Squirt some mayonnaise all over the pickle. If you're feeling like a darin' Karen, put some hot sauce on as well. ¡Muy picante!

Fold over the tortilla, and enjoy a taste that can normally only be experienced south of the border.

  • @DarkLordChungus - beautiful presentation.

For some reason it reminded me of the Neil DeGrasse Tyson on a tortilla. My friend did that and I was at the Halloween party/potluck where she presented it. It got posted online and went viral.

I’ve got Cabernet Sauvignon ice cream firming up in the freezer. First time making wine flavored ice cream. Tastes like it’s going to be very good.

  • Pasta and chili are two of my favourites. They have a good yum to work ratio
