Plan versus Spontaneous

  • I generally like to plan, however my ideal for cuddling is spontaneous. How do I know I'll be in the mood to cuddle 4 days from now?

There's one pro I used to see regularly, who I saw more than anyone else by far, and a big reason was that she was perfectly happy to accommodate last minute requests like "Hey can you be here in an hour?"

That said, I know most people can't accommodate that kind of last minute thing, and I completely understand -- because I generally would not be able to either.

  • @sillysassy ~ I just adore you!!! 🥰🥰🥰

I am setting aside time in my day to basically do nothing with this said person….Time that I would otherwise be doing something else or spending time with a loved one.. if said person cannot be respectful of my schedule/ time and plan a session, then it just will not happen. I do not accept booking proposals less than 24-48 hours prior to the session.
I am not your mother, girlfriend, or sister. a cuddle professional is to be treated as like a psychotherapist. you wouldn’t call for an appointment with a psychotherapist and expect to be scheduled within the hour and neither would you be able to with a cuddle professional. This is the real world. if you cannot plan, then you cannot just make things happen.

    VERY new here.

I'm already on sites for dating, etc. Not my plan for here, aside from possibly developing a friendship from cuddling. That said, I'm think on how to handle what MIGHT be inevitable: she ultimately says she wants more and I assume I'm interested. I figure I would drop the member from my profile, if added, and then tell them we would need to leave CC. Will she be worth the error? Well, hasn't happened, so no worries.

    admin: please verify my plan.

  • Welcome, @spuffer. No problem with being on dating sites as well, that's perfectly common. However, we try not to talk about it much because it can risk blurring the line for new people trying to figure out what this site is about.

People do occasionally form romantic relationships from cuddling ones. In that case, the usual outcome is for both parties to leave CC because there is no need for them to be here any more - their cuddling and touch needs are being met by the new partner.

Forming ordinary (platonic) friendships from cudding is pretty common.

Note that the thing you really need a plan for is over-attachment. Cuddling is a very intimate activity, and it deliberatly tries to replicate some of the feelings usually associated with close personal relationships. This can result in a certain amount of emotional attachment of one party to another. In and of itself, this is a good thing and is an important part of the healing process for many people.

However, like everything, too much of a good thing is bad. The problem is that somebody can believe that they have fallen in love with their cuddler, when the cuddler has no strong feelings for them. The difficulty is exacerbated because the truth is they haven't fallen in love with the whole person, because they don't actually know the cuddler: they only know their public, cuddling face.

To put it another way, cuddling seeks to replicate certain emotions. It can give very powerful and healing feelings, and that's good. You get the benefit from them (I have). But the feelings are not entirely "real": the person holding you isn't your mother or your father or your lover. It is in fact somebody who barely knows you.

When all of this gets mixed up it can lead to very challenging situations for all concerned.

  • I fell in love with my body pillow but it left after my dog sexually assaulted it.

  • I prefer planned. I need to mentally and physically prepare for meeting. I don’t look presentable 24/7.

If I have something prior planned, then spontaneously meeting up wouldn’t work.

  • Totally open to both though! Some of my very favorite cuddle sessions have been last minute or more sporadic 😊🤷‍♀️

  • I like plantaneous.

  • @JoyfulHeart ~ Grow your own plantaneous cuddles...

  • I agree and enjoyed everyone’s stories, thank you.

I’d have to say I prefer planned only because you have more of a chance of it happening. I had a trip on several occasions that happened all of a sudden and understandably it was hard to get a cuddle. I was successful in 1 of 3 attempts.
