Hi I am new this. Recently , I had a session then I could not sleep that night even though the session was fine. Is it also common with other people. I thought cuddle is calming and relaxing.
@om123 ~ Isn't that just totally wild and unexpected?!
I had a fairly consistent cuddle buddy for a while and, though it was calming and relaxing, there were a few times I left our cuddles sessions ready to strip wall paper, run errands, or begin a multi-phase art project! It didn't matter if we'd been together for a few hours of cuddling or for an overnight ~ When it happened, it happened. But it was less than 20% of the time so not, "normal" but not, "not normal" either.
Sometimes you might be all giddy and pumped, other times super chill, some times some corner of the mind mood sinker is released to shake loose some tears, and at times (even though you ate plenty while there), you might have to grab some carb & protein combo on the way home.
At least that's how that earlier span of cuddling went for me. Now it's different, but I figured I'd share from when I was still new-ish to all this!
Anywho, Welcome to CC & Happy Cuddling!!
If you were cuddling with someone new, chances are you may have felt some nervousness and excitement, which can increase your adrenaline levels and make it harder to fall asleep. The more times you cuddle with a particular person, the more comfortable and relaxed you should get as you come to trust them more.
@om123 Quick questionโhow did you feel towards the person cuddling you? I am not asking about the session, but about your feelings toward the other person?
@om123 CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the site!! ๐
I have to agree with @quixotic_life there are so many different emotions I have felt after snuggles. Especially new to me snuggles like @bekah_cuddles pointed out. I have left skipping and jumping and other times my legs are so wobbly and I can hardly keep my eyes open. For ME..... it depends on the connection and the conversation and of course the touch.... A lot of times I can't sleep just because I am thinking about all the loveliness or processing an new idea I had about everything. Hopefully you got a little shut eye and btw ( @quixotic_life what in the world are YOU doing up at 3am??)
I say.... Keep calm and CUDDLE ON!!
That's happened to me, more than once.
Cuddling can stir up all sorts of unconscious stuff. Please do think about it, but don't worry about it - it's perfectly healthy and normal.
You are taking the first steps on the journey to understanding that cuddling is not primarily a physical event (although obviously the physical aspect is important). It is primarily an emotional event.
@sillysassy ~ Adulting induced insomnia! ๐ - yay.

since there is no like or unlike button.... ๐๐ต๐๐๐
@om123 hello buddy welcome to CC! My first cuddle was pretty long, at the beginning I was a wriggly worm but after a while I relaxed and fell asleep, I have anxiety and use medication to help me calm my nerves and sleep, to be honest every time I cuddled I felt I was in bliss, floating on a cloud after a while, I ugly cried twice too!! full on snot and all , it was not nice to mess up cuddle buddyโs tee! I was overwhelmed with emotion. But I always seem to not require my anxiety meds for at least a week after. I guess everyone has a different experience, it also depends on your comfort level with your buddy. I cannot reiterate this enough but communication is KEY!! I hope your next cuddle is even better!
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and advices.
