Cuddle Parties

I was invited to a cuddle party. The pros would come free and the gentlemen would pay a cover. The intention would be to bypass a lot of the pre screening we do and to simply meet several other cuddlers in your area at once in a safe and public environment.

I would like to start a discussion on whether or not you would attend something like this. And what the pros and cons would be.

    Absolutely! I’ve been to a cuddle party before. There were 8 of us present, I believe, and we all had a great time and there was such an exchange of oxytocin! The pros of this are you get to meet and exchange energy with many cool people.

    The cons would be that you don’t fully get to know someone, but that’s what 1-on-1 sessions are for. You’d at least be able to see who’s energy you connect with and go from there. 🤗

    These kind of events have been well established for some time, at least until the you-know-what. They are on the way back now.

    There is a sequence of them happening in London, called Touch Project. I know some of the people involved and they are good, very good.

    Caution: The organisers need to be very careful. Such events can bring up powerful and unexpected emotions (which may or may not be connected to past trauma). The organisers should have plans in place to support and protect anybody who undergoes such an experience, and also the rest of the group. A badly organised or run cuddle party risks doing more harm than good.

    They will also need careful procedures in place to ensure everybody's safety. It's worth making sure they have three or four fit and strong people ready, willing and able to sit on an offender's head until the police arrive, just in case. I understand that it's one of those things that if there is a process set up, you won't need it.
