Love gore, the campier the better. The Evil Dead is a huge favorite, always disappointed when modern horror kills off-camera.
I say all that but I'm too squeamish to watch Dr Pimple Popper or any kind of surgery.
I tend to documentaries, the occasional action movie (especially superhero movies), and a rom-com here and there.
But the rom-com is on thin ice…

Sci-fi and psychological thrillers are my favorite! I also secretly love bad zombie movies like Wasting Away. The script and dated CGI tickle me!!
My favorite cerebral movies are time-related. The gold crown of time shenanigans, for me, goes to the film Primer (2004). A science fiction story set in present-ish day. Don't want to give spoilers but it's guaranteed to blow your mind right out of your head. One of my favorite films and it's still difficult to visualize everything that happens in the plot. Very low budget, around $7,000. Very dialogue focused, and in my opinion very well done.

I like sci fi and action movies plus movies from the 80s like Gremlins, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, Back to the Future etc.

The Fifth Element - stunning visuals, kick ass ginger 😊
Jurassic Park - reminds me of being a Dino crazy 11 year old.

I once hosted a small cuddle party with a double feature. First we watched Wood with Johnny Depp. The other cuddlers were not familiar with Ed Wood and I had to keep reminding them this was a real person. Then we watched Plan 9 From Outer Space. Everyone loved it!

"Million Dollar Mermaid" is a great movie I recently saw for the first time. I watch a lot of movies on TCM.
A lot of great movies mentioned! I love the fifth element and night of the living dead as well as the original pet cemetery. Generally I enjoy thriller, action type flicks or ones that make you think such as inception.
I am hearing a resounding lust for gore and decided I would share a gem. @Big_Chris your mention of lower budget gore triggered this share so if anyone should choose to be down right disgusted, shocked or afraid, we’re both responsible 😝🤣. Has anyone else seen any movies from director Brian Paulin? A couple I would recommend would be Bone sickness and septic. If you are new to this director or sensitive to shocking, graphic, gore at its finest then watch at your own risk.

@Babichev I saw Plan 9 on TV when I was a kid. Right away I knew I was different. I've never put that movie on for anyone that didn't fall asleep about 30 minutes into it. And the sad exit of Bela Lugosi. Ed was really a believer. But if I wanted to keep someone awake during cuddling, "Living in Oblivion" might do it. It's pretty funny if your cuddler gets the dated references to Brad Pitt.
If you want cerebral. There’s a movie called Enemy starring Jake Gyllenhaal directed by Dennis Villanueve. I thought I knew why the film was about, till BOOM. The ending came. Not only that but it scared the crap out of me. The intro starts immediately with its cerebral stuff 🧠 The movie does have some sexual content and nudity so if that offends you, you can avoid it respectively 👍 @UberCutie75 @JoyfulHeart @Emma @vivalalife @Amortentia and @Big_Chris

I get a kick out of old bad horror movies. Has anybody watched the Svengoolie or Lord Blood-Rah series? They crack me up!

And good Superhero movies or series- Umbrella Academy, Hitch, Alphas (sadly only one season), Incredibles, Unbreakable series, Deadpool, Jessica Jones, The Flash, Daredevil (Netflix series)
