I love the concept of tiny homes. Depending on the manufacturer and materials used, they could be portable. In my dream of dreams I'd have 1-5 acres with a solar farm, multiple tiny homes (one for guests, one for projects/workshop, and one for my living space). This is all assuming I could get the zoning and utilities all worked out (mainly water/sewer). My biggest issue with tiny home neighborhoods is the nearness of homes. I get it from a utilities perspective, but it doesn't make sense to me to live right on top of your respective neighbor. Give me at least a few hundred feet, please.
There's a community along the delta between SF and Sacramento, which has a mix of RV and tiny homes. It seems... interesting:
