Public Sessions

I had my first public session with a pro recently. Public sessions are something that had never really appealed to me. We ended up cuddling on a bench at an outdoor mall. It was full of people but due to circumstances, this was the best option for us. I think that due to covid and spending much more time at home the past over a year, it felt really nice to be out and about with someone like this. What are your thoughts and experiences with public sessions?

Comments

  • I prefer it, especially during covid and with someone I don't know well. Though I prefer at a place like a decent sized park, where the atmosphere is a lot more relaxed and social distancing is possible.

Though if the only concern is covid and either parties live in a house, then the backyard can be a good middle ground.

  • I always meet at the movies first, after screening potential cuddlers by chatting with them here. I get a good sense of their intentions based on how they behave when we cuddle in the theater, and I feel safe there.

  • Absolutely love public sessions and particularly mixed sessions. An example of a recent favorite would be kayaking with someone followed by a meal at their home and cuddles while watching a favorite tv show. Or dinner in public is always a great experience when cuddles follow. 😊 it’s definitely a different level of connectivity but still a great one.

  • I had a brilliant public session once, as a first meeting. We had a picnic in the park, and a proper cuddle. I fell asleep, I think she might have done too. We have cuddled many times since.

I had a public session with a client and it was great. We got to walk around my neighborhood and cuddled on a bench at the park. It was actually really peaceful and different from the normal setting I was used to.

I’d definitely be up to more outdoor cuddle sessions while the weather is still warm. I’d love to have one similar to a picnic near a river or taking the ferry around. Maybe even a trip to the botanical gardens or a museum.

These are some things I enjoyed doing as a kid, especially with my grandma so to be able to recreate those moments while bringing comfort to others, would be really sweet.

  • Not close enough for me, I prefer the comfort of lying down.

  • I would be down for a picnic.

  • I've yet to do a cuddle session in public. However I do remember when I was dating this one woman we would often go to the Boston Commons or public gardens here in Boston sit on a bench, old hands, and she or myself would lean our head on the other's shoulder. I also remember going to the beach with that same person and we would bring a blanket and oftentimes we would lie down together and feel the nice ocean breeze on a beautiful day. Me and her are no longer together however even though it was for a moment it makes me feel human. That kind of moment is why I am on this site.

  • @Cuddle_RN I enjoy movie theater cuddle sessions as well.

@Kenshiro2020 That sounds like a beautiful and warm moment of connection and those are my favorite feelings too!

@Mela_B I’m all for the picnic idea 🧺Perhaps lakeside with some cheese and crackers 🧀

For me it’s very difficult (ok, impossible) to relax in public.

So, I would be fine meeting someone new in public as a way to get to know each other, get comfortable, and so on.

But for actually getting lost in a cuddle and relaxing I need a place I know is safe, and public isn’t really.

  • One of the concerns I had was, would she feel comfortable cuddling with me in a situation where we would be seen by other people. I thought this mainly because I’m much older than she is. She was perfectly fine though. There was one point early on where we were walking and she reached over and held my hand and actually asked if I minded if she held my hand. I was like melt no you can hold my hand all you want lol ❤️

  • I think a picnic public cuddle would work… I haven’t had a public request as yet! But it seems extremely interesting!

  • I’m with @CharlesThePoet I could not fully relax and be at peace cuddling in public. I also do not like PDA so my case might be different.

Totally down to hang out in public but anything beyond an occasional hug or hand holding for a few seconds will make me uncomfy

Don't the monsters come to eat you the moment you get comfy in the park?

    Is that just my movie?

@s_huggg it worked beautfully. It was a lovely day and we met at the park entrance. We discussed dietary questions beforehand (none) and wine (not this time) and each brought a blanket and a picnic for ourselves, but which was very easy to share. The things I brought were all sealed packets from the supermarket.

We ate and shared and chatted, and when I said, "What would you think about - " she said, "Yes, let's cuddle!"

@Mare_Bear we were lying down for the cuddle part.

No monsters, at least not that I noticed.

"There was one point early on where we were walking and she reached over and held my hand and actually asked if I minded if she held my hand. I was like melt no you can hold my hand all you want lol ❤️"

Cuddleship goals for me!! Glad you two found mutual acceptance and compatibility. ^^

  • I will add that I have cuddled in an Eno hammock in public, but not as a first cuddle. It is VERY intimate, and getting into the hammock together is either extremely awkward or involves A LOT of giggling - laughing at yourselves is the better way 😁 For those who don't like PDA (I'm with you), once you're in, if you have a double Eno, it closes up over you kind of like a pea pod and no one can see who or what is inside.

  • I've had a cuddle in the park on a blanket spread on the grass, and I've had several movie cuddles. Nothing's quite like lying down in private, but public cuddles can provide good affection and companionship. I've never had a problem with PDA, even when I knew some of the public disapproved. As long as my cuddle partner is down for it, I am. I would just want to make sure we're not surrounded by disapproving people— that at least most of the people seem okay with it.

  • Unlike in private, haven’t had any men cross sexual boundaries in public... I find it easier to relax in public for these meetups, especially initially, because there’s accountability and help if necessary with others around. A picnic blanket on some grass in the shade is my favorite scenario.

  • @Lovelight I’m such a sucker for sweet things and that was a very sweet moment 😍

  • I have a couple questions. What is a PDA? I must be really old school, 'cause I think of those electronic planning devices people used to carry around. Also, what's an Eno hammock? Okay, I guess it's more than 2 questions. In a movie theater, at least the ones I've been too, doesn't the arm rest between the chairs make cuddling a little awkward? It sounds like it could work for some, but the cost of movies, not to mention the challenges of getting around and to the theater because I'm almost totally blind, would make this difficult. I kind of like the picnic idea where each party brings their own supplies, that could be a lot of fun.

There’s this old-school thing called Google Search that just celebrated its 23rd anniversary ha ha.

Ive never done a public session … but if a cuddler ever states that they like star gazing 🌌 & listen to music 🎶 (preferably Slowjamz/ SoftRock / R&b -not necessary) by a body of water or up high In the mountains ⛰ / With chocolate chip cookie 🍪 dough icecream 🍨 (Ofcourse not necessary lol) I would love this ☺️

@hifigeorge PDA is Public Display of Affection. ENO is a brand name, and stands for Eagles Nest Outfitters. Some theaters have arm rests that swing up and out of the way.

@nurturingman I've heard of Google search, but I didn't know what it was, so I had to look it up.

  • @JoyfulHeart Thank you for your answers. I really appreciate it. Google can be a complicated business theese days with all the adds and other things mixed in with search results, even more so if you depend on a screenreader.

  • I never experienced it but I will i want it in a beautiful park to feel I'm in heaven

  • @midnightowl I'd say timing also plays a role in that safety net.

For instance, a couple of years ago, I was out in the evening - night hours and ran into an acquaintance: no cuddling or anything between us. I doubt we even ever shaked hands. Given we both had time and haven't spoken so long, I thought we could take that moment to catch up. So I suggested we find somewhere to sit. We took a walk passing by a well lit place with seats. He said something about not feeling comfortable there and perhaps about having a headache. Or maybe I took it as the bright lights being too much for him healthwise. So he and I found a second place that was medium in light.

He then pointed to elsewhere that was quite secluded at that time and so dark. Ummm... excuse me?? At this point I began to feel something wasn't right. So I said no, I'll stay here. Then there, he began crossing boundaries, although we literally sat by the street, I guess it was dark-ish and no much pedestrians. In fact as we'd talk, he'd stop talking or try to shush me when he'd see someone go by us. Even though we weren't talking about anything sensitive. Anyway I was able to put him in his place and get out of there. Looking back, I see a couple of red flags. However sometimes when you're in the moment you don't always have as much of an insight into what's going on. Needless to say, I've lost all trust in him.
