Profile city

I wish members especially pros would list the actual city they live in on their profile. This may not matter as much in other area as it does in mine. In the LA area at the wrong time, it can take 45 minutes to drive 3 miles. I live 30 minutes south east of Los Angeles and there are some pros on the site that list their city as Los Angeles but they actually live 30 minutes north of Los Angeles. I'm willing to drive 30 minutes into LA but I don't want to drive an hour. That hour at the wrong time can easily turn into two hours or more. If the member listed their city correctly, it would save people the time and hassle if they felt it was too far.

    @Morpheus, It would be nice if the country was on there profile as there are so many London,s, Washington,s around the world, I now have a country ID list on my wall even that would be nice on the profile.

    A better idea would be to type in zip code instead of city. That way you would know more precisely how far away you are.

    In the La area, it would be good if people not only listed the city, but the part of the city as well. The Eagle Rock, Highland Park, East LA, Silver Lake, and the MacArthur Park areas of LA are all within my reach. Downtown would be, except I don't want to deal with the traffic. Areas south and west of downtown, all of which I can't even name, are pretty much out of my reach. These different names of areas are all part of LA, so just saying you are in LA is not very informative.

    Hmm. As @funandadventure pointed out above, lots of folks here are not from the USA, so zip codes wouldn't be applicable for them. But it would definitely help for people here in the States. Another consideration: people in large cities can give their zip code and still retain a sense of anonymity; people in very small towns might want to fudge their locations just a little (to @Morpheus's original point), but it shouldn't make much of a difference in terms of travel time. I recently had a country appointment like that. The town given in the profile was approximate, but it didn't make any practical difference. For me the most helpful thing for U.S. cuddlers would be to see the state along with the city. Manchester MA is reasonably close to me, whereas Manchester NH and Manchester CT are long drives. In fact there are something like 18 U.S. states with a Manchester in them. With a state (or zip code) displaying under the pic, we wouldn't have to click through to the profile to see which Manchester, or Everett, or Watertown, or whatever, was in view.
