Overwhelmed

[Deleted User]simsaddict (deleted user)

I have been feeling incredibly overwhelmed with life and just not booking or taking sessions recently.
I’m starting to feel somewhat bad because I’m receiving messages from potential interested people but I am just so tired mentally that I have no energy for physical touch.

Does anyone else get like this?
My usual self care methods are fine but also…I’m about ready to pay for a cuddle myself, just so I don’t have to talk & be held in silence. I’m feeling very stressed & it does affect/effect my mental attitude.

Isn’t that the human condition as a general rule? We think we are tough and can always do a little more and then snap! we discover we can’t. Happens to everyone and it is nothing to be ashamed about. The shame is to ignore it as your relationships, work and health deteriorate.

I find trickling water very calming but it makes me want to pee.

  • @simsaddict Take care of you so you are able to take care of others. :)

I'm sure those who matter will appreciate you sending them something like the following and you don't gotta feel bad about it. "Hey, thank you for your interest! Unfortunately at the moment I'm unavailable because I've personal matters to deal with. Though I'd like to touch base with you once I am back, if you'd like. :) "

  • @simsaddict - I agree with you that you should pay for a cuddle session if you feel compelled to.

Or book a massage with a local masseuse. That also helps to ease the nerves and release the stress.

  • @simsaddict How you feel mentally is as much important as your physical health. It’s great that you recognize the need to first care for yourself. Acknowledging that to your potential cuddlers will only grow their respect for you in that you are prioritizing being in a right state to be the best version of yourself when taking care of their need. Hope you find the the time and means to feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

  • @NicoSnuggs Great idea. I have seen some massage therapists that also cuddle. Investigate and pamper yourself. I would love to Pamper myself but I am a Huggies man.

You can't fault that joke. =) You just can't.

@simsaddict yes, I get like that sometimes. I used to feel very bad for the people I was 'letting down' but I'm much better at that now. @Lovelight's advice is excellent, as usual.

And yes, I would absolutely recommend you book a cuddle. It is a perfectly common thing for professional cuddlers to do. Pay your cuddler their usual rate and make it absolutely clear that you are being a client, and not seeking to establish professional relationships or anything like that. (That's perfectly common too, it's just to avoid a misunderstanding.)

Temporary burnout of professional cuddlers, which may or may not be what you are experiencing, is something I have observed or encountered several times now. It's totally natural: it happens to therapy dogs too, for example the kind that get taken round care homes. The cure is complete rest, and if you really rest completely (remember that both talking and listening are tiring) it doesn't seem to take long.

  • None of us are energizer bunnies. We can't control when we do or don't have energy for something, even if it's the things or people we love. Take that mental health break. And if you need to book a pro, I saw nothing in the rules about pros booking other pros. Treat yourself as you've helped others, if that's what you need. This place is about comfort after all, & if you'd be more comfortable in not using it awhile then do that too. It's not your job to keep it together at all times.

Whatever you decide would suit your needs best, I have faith there's plenty of love & support here to go around. 🙂

sometimes you have to self isolate from people for rest. think deeply then find solutions . i did when I I been to France from Britain i took a furry i was by my own, thinking about the universe and enjoying the views of the ocean, birds. or go to the park enjoy looking at the greens ☝️remember to positive. Maybe I'm wrong

  • Been feeling overwhelmed lately so I’m taking a moment to relax and enjoy.

  • Whoa! @Morpheus ~ Looks lovely!!
(a part of me is laughing at how long it took my tired self to figure out what I was looking at with the, 'no head four legger' on the left ~ lol ~ great view though!)

  • @Morpheus ~ Awww!! What a sweetie pie!! 🥰

  • If you just spend time cuddling and absorbing the negative energy from your clients, you are definitely going to end up burning out. Do yourself a favor and take some "you" time to recoup. And yeah, definitely book with another pro and give yourself the chance to be the client for once.

  • When I cuddle I imagine that my loving energy is passing into my clients body from my body and I tend to feel tired after. My friend did a reiki training course and found that it’s better to try and channel universal energy so we don’t burn out our own energy. Very interesting 🤔

  • I'm overwhelmed by the weeds in my garden. There are tens of thousands. Its 100 degrees outside. I try to pull them up for about 15 minutes but it's a struggle. Some of the roots go down several inches and are very hard to pull up. Many have to be dug out individually. Sometimes I can go for 30 minutes if I alternate with clipping bushes (I have a lot of bushes), but that's about my limit. Doing this wipes me out for the entire day, I have to go inside, take a shower, change my clothes and have a cold drink or maybe take a nap. I've been doing this for several weeks and still have barely made a dent in the weeds. We've had more rain and more weeds have come up.

  • @UKGuy I've been on that merry go round, I feel you pain. It's bad enough without the heat problem.

I have four words for you:

    Night attacks
    Chemical warfare

    @Morpheus Is she a Dobermann?

  • @simsaddict You blow me away on a daily basis filling everyone’s cups around you! Such a giving and wonderfully loving being! You bring so much joy into my life! Like a ray of warm sunshine! Life has pulled us in different directions this week and I know I’m having some withdrawals! I aim to remedy this SOON ! Just remember, even the sun needs her rest each night! You are entitled to the recharge you need! ❤️🌞

I’ve been overwhelmed for the last year. I live alone, have not been able to work because of the pandemic. The isolation really gets to me. I’m unable to do the things I used to do that made life enjoyable. I have a problem with clutter and chaos in my living space. Then I was forced to move. I moved into my new place the end of June and it still looks like I moved in yesterday. I’ve been trying to find someone to hire to help me out but I can’t. Yesterday my friend came over to help and that project got aborted when I had to make an emergency visit to the vet for the bunny. She’s okay now. I’ll try to get done today the stuff we were going to do yesterday.

    One day at a time.

  • @Babichev Why were you forced to move?

  • edited September 2021

@Babichev Did you try to find someone by searching "professional organizer (followed by your city)" or maybe posting to a neighborhood group? :/

  • @Babichev Sorry to hear about your struggles. The isolation has been getting to me at times too. I'd advise trying to go out with a friend or two here and there to keep you going if possible. It is necessary to get some socialization. Go out in nature, go for a hike, do yoga in the park, rent a bike and ride around town. Or you could try online gaming with friends, etc. Hopefully you'll soon find your way to feel better. :)

  • You show all the signs of being human. Hello human. <3 <3 <3 Hugs.

@Babichev I wish if lived closed by, i love helping others its part of my enjoyment. then get 1 beautiful cuddle 😁. Human needs human.

  • @Babichev You got it right with One day at a time. Progress each day, however little it might be, with some me time added to it will hopefully help. Hope your bunny feels better and you can get some help with setting up your new place.

  • @simsaddict totally get this overwhelmed feeling!
Ran away for the weekend with a friend to the mountains to recharge my soul. I can’t people anymore.

@Morpheus she’s beautiful please hug her from me!

@Nature_Lover_ & @Lovelight give fantastic advice. Being around nature and water just grounds you…it works wonders for me.

@Babichev I was close to you this weekend. I’m sorry you had to move and still haven’t been able to unpack wish I was closer I’d help you🫂

@littermate being human is an exhausting task!
We had a crazy shooting in our grocery store today!
The universe works in mysterious ways, I had a call come in which I had to resolve, I sat in far end of the parking lot talking to my client and all hell broke loose.
I would have been in the store if this gentleman had not called me and I can’t even imagine the horror of people that were in the store I was outside and I’m shaken up!!

  • @Melomaniac9 - That is awful; I’m glad that you received that call in time.

How were people in the store? What happened next?
    Is everyone ok and alive?

  • @NicoSnuggs the shooter killed himself another lady passed away and I think 14 were injured.
It was the Sushi chef he was fired the day before.
