Notification after being Favorited (Yay or Nay)

Question for all (enthusiats / pros / clients) how do you like the idea of being notified and/or seeing a list of people who have favorite you on here, would you be more inclined to reach out to them / possibly cuddling them / or do you rather not know or indifferent about it?

  • Absolutely not. For a start, many women already receive so many messages they leave the site. Adding a flood of notifications would only make that problem worse.

    Secondly, in a previous thread we established that people use Favourites in different ways. For example, I use it to keep track of who I have cuddled.

    Morally, the entire concept is underhand. Certain sites use it as a sneaky way of nudging people towards paying.

    It also undermines the concept of communication (a notification instead of an actual message) and reinforces the notion that the recipient of the action - which in our case will predominantly be women - is a commodity, not a human people.

    If you want such a system, it should at least be labelled correctly. "People I want to message me because I haven't got the energy/bottle to message them."

    TL:DR. No. It's morally reprehensible and would be practically disastrous.

    You did ask! 😆

  • @CuddleDuncan a couple assumptions in your reply 😂 but your opinion is always appreciated

  • I already mentioned in how this website can improve

  • What would be the point of doing that, turning the FAVORITE button into a communication feature? If somebody wants to communicate, they just message. If they don't want to, they get their privacy. Why does that need to change?

  • I guess, as a pro, I can understand it being used by those who are a bit more shy to reach out first. Right now, I never send the first message because it feels like soliciting, but I might feel more inclined if someone "favorited" me. It really is much easier though if they just reached out first.

  • @bekah_cuddles I have soured on using the services of professional cuddlers because of the commercial feel of being contacted. It's one thing if you are a professional because of a calling to help those people who are touch starved, and you present warmth in a cold world. It's another when you are fishing for clients and it starts to feel like a stroll down a red light district. I had a regular repeat pro that started to become really insecure and needy, and pressuring me to see her more often. We need some boundaries to protect the integrity of cuddling as a service meant to help people, and not to be fast money.

  • @UCpaaHVg6u0 I can totally understand that commercial feel of being contacted by a pro. That's exactly why I don't initiate contact with any cuddlers on here. I leave it up to them to reach out to me for my services. But I can also understand sending that first message can be intimidating to some. A "favorite" button could be used to say, "I'm interested in a session, but don't know how to ask for one," giving the pro sort of permission to reach out instead.

    @bekah_cuddles Presumably the FAVORITE button is to help keep track of the cuddlers you're interested in. Breaking the privacy walls automatically would not be respecting the choice to be reticent about it. A separate button might be in order though.

  • I think a feature that lets a website member view “ who favorited them “ can be useful . After all , there is a “ who viewed your profile “ feature . There doesn’t have to be notifications .

  • I want a “meh” button

  • Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but how about an option where you can choose whether the people you have friended know or not. Linkedin has an option like this where you can choose whether or not people know you view their profile.

  • But I also like what @FunCartel said, the meh button 🤣

  • I don’t understand a couple of these replies:

    @cuddles_ndream ?

    @quixotic_life ?

    🗨🐴

    I would say definitely not. To me, favoriting a person is my private way of creating a list of those I like or am interested in. I don’t want them to know who they are unless I tell them.

  • I'm not seeing the issue. We get notifications from FB, IG, SC, when others comment or like our statuses or presence. It's already ingrained. Why would a favored notification be any different?

    @Riverblue I see it as something private, like when someone unfriends you on Facebook (you don't get a notification when someone unfriends you on Facebook, for example). It's favoriting a person, not something they post, which I believe deserves a different level of privacy— not that we have favoriting of posts or replies here anyway.

  • 🤣😂🤣 Lol!! @nurturingman
    From the horses mouth (so to speak)...
    "Neigh" is what they say...
    So, 🗨🐴 = nay

  • @quixotic_life 🤦🏻‍♂️😏

  • Favorites were/are meant to be YOUR person(s) you want to bookmark/save. This isn't a "who can get enough likes" kind of thing for community consumption. It's a one-way deal, personalized to each person. The recipient isn't going to be getting an alert or notification of any kind, now or likely ever, by favoriting.

    How would anyone know how many “likes” anyone else has? This is not an ego thing, those that seek likes / validation ect hangout in Instagram… (I don’t think the “likes” crowd is here @bekah_cuddles nailed it. It was an interesting question I think, & something for the devs to consider … it was not mandate/demand.

    Sounds to me like the issue is using a feature for alternative purposes (i.e. Favorites as a bookmark). Personally I agree that keeping favorites exclusive to be the best use of the feature. A Professional, or any potential co-cuddler, doesn't need to know if I've bookmarked them.

    While it could help the other person know their marketability, I think there could be better features added for that purpose. For example, a "dashboard" that shows metrics such as # visited over X period of time, or even # favorited, but they don't need to know WHO favorited them.

    Frankly, I don't like that I can't view a profile without the person knowing I've viewed it, but I understand why that function exists. But to remove the anonymity of favoriting will just be taking away another tool for the potential cuddlers to comfortably browse without being inundated with pitches for cuddles, IMHO.
