Favorite Old TV Shows

I was recently reminded of my love for the Little House on the Prairie tv series and I thought it would be fun for us all to reminisce on the tv shows we grew up with. Quick clarification: I obviously was not alive during the original airing of Little House but we didn’t have cable when I was a kid so my mom’s VHS collection was all I had to watch.

  • Grew up in the UK, so these were on TV there in the 60s and 70s: "Doctor Who", "The Forest Rangers", "Riviera Police", "The Man in Room 17", "UFO", "Space 1999". Some of them you can watch all the episodes on Youtube.

    'The Sopranos'

  • Sky King, most I’m sure won’t know it. He flew a plane and helped out the local police out west. It got me interested in planes and ended up becoming a pilot and flying my own Cessna 172.

  • @Travismo - cool post !! What about The Simpson’s?! Grew up on that one.

Night Court, Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside, ST TNG, DS9, Voyager, The 6 Billion Dollar Man.

  • @Travismo thanks for the nostalgia. I too watched Little House on the Prairie on VHS growing up. Such wholesome goodness. I grew up outside of the United States so family was always sending us VHS of American TV shows (with the advertisements which always made me hungry for this strange foreign food of the Olive Garden. lol) . Fresh Prince was one of my favs. @cookiecrumb Mcgyver too!!

  • Has anyone mentioned Golden Girls yet? Sophia was hilarious.

  • Loved the campiness of the original Batman when I was a child. The weekly villains were the highlight.

  • Also loved the camp of Dragnet which was intended to be serious but to me and many others, was a riot:

The show is a majorly old but my all-time favorite show is The Sopranos. I have seen every episode, every season many times. I have it constantly on HBO max, I have every season on DVD and Blu-ray.
