100% Honest

  • I believe I’m completely honest but I could be deluding myself. You’ll have to ask the people who have met met me if I was completely honest or not.

  • I am honest, but I've deliberately omitted some significant work-related details from my profile. These are details I don't disclose openly, but I've chosen to share with cuddlers I've seen after determining they were people I could generally trust. Everything about my person is genuine, to include my name. After reading my profile again, though, I feel I could always write more. LOL... IMHO, true cuddling is done from a place of voluntary vulnerability and openness... <3

As for my 'vetting process' and determining whether I am safe? Before meeting, it's all in the language... Words matter, and fortunately, everyone I've met from this site were amazing people. They sounded more like friends I haven't seen for the longest time, eager to get together and reminisce. During the meetup, I also pay close attention to body language, which amuses me as I'M the one that usually 'telegraphs' nervousness. Perhaps I've just been very fortunate. Maybe there's something in the profiles that I subconsciously pay attention to... In profile pics, I DO pay very close attention to the eyes and the type of smiles in their photos. :)

Just throwing a studied fact out there, people selling a service aren't 100% honest. Maybe cuddling is the anomoly?

  • @Saysoh yep our member poll is currently showing only 46% are saying 100 percent honest. Thanks 😊

  • Honesty about ones self is highly subjective. People that are sociopathic can believe they are being 100% honest when in fact they are distorting the lines between reality and how they see themselves. Likewise, someone that is insecure can paint a bleaker picture than the reality. Honesty is the after birth of perception.

  • I suppose another angle could have been to ask, "To what degree are you deceiving or deceptive?"

    For example: Relationship status
    Left blank - no problem
Declared themselves, "single" while in a marriage that has 'failed', it's basically loveless/touchless and by nearly every measure they aren't really a 'married' couple, in a functional partnership, they live separate lives together, etc. - still no problem.
Declared themselves, "single" because they don't want to be excluded from potential cuddle matches, all while not being separated or keeping it secret from their spouse, etc. - That's dishonesty. It's an intentional choice they've made to deceive others and portray themselves as someone they aren't. - Yes, problem. (to me anyway)

All that said, I don't believe I've ever been dishonest here. I suppose I may have openly clung to an opinion, privately changed my point of view later, and didn't go back to find the thread to correct things... but I don't think I've done that either. It just wouldn't be out of character if I did (but I don't consider that sort of thing to be an issue of honesty anyway...

Side note: I personally don't consider omitting info as being dishonest either.

    @FunCartel

"Honesty about ones self is highly subjective."

I like this. This brings into this linear definition of reality society pressures you into which influences fear of introspection to avoid, "not being normal." This would be a different conversation.

  • Also... I really liked what @FunCartel said up there,"...they are distorting the lines between reality and how they see themselves." and "Honesty is the after birth of perception."

I may be an honest distortionist ~ My perception of myself has rarely ever matched photos or what I see in the mirror, and I often feel misjudged. The fact that it happens with regularity tells me I'm likely the one who's off, not others.

Either which way, it's a for sure thing that, "not being normal" is my "normal".

Hi there.... I'm still very new to this and don't understand it completely yet, but I like the discussion.... I forget the fact that, just because I'm so hard on myself, doesn't mean that everyone else sees me the same way I do.... I mean, I understand it doesn't really count, cuz I'm not intentionally lying about myself, but I guess, in a way, it's like false advertisement, cuz when aren't as positive about yourself as you could be, then you're just "selling yourself short", correct? 🤔

  • How many people on the site do you think post their actual age 🤣

  • @Morpheus ~ I kinda figured most do. I have and those I've met have too. But there are undoubtedly some who haven't. I'm gonna go with 90% are honest about it.

@Mela_B what are the red flags you avoid? I'm curious as I'm a n00b.

  • Does it count as being honest or dishonest if you're also lying to yourself? 🤔

I'm honest, if u dont want no one to know something about myself i'd say it instead of creating a lia. I hate lies and liars!
