Road Tripping with a Cuddle... thoughts?

I thought about this initially as a general question (hypothetical), but since I plan on having to drive home by myself for the holidays anyway, I wondered what folks' thoughts would be on accompanying a cuddler (either fly and meet, or co-pilot) for part of a trip. Obviously the travel expenses and cuddle time would be paid for.

I'm NOT soliciting for takers! Just trying to guage how such an offer would be taken.

Any thoughts from the group?

    I think this goes back to the thread which brought up the questions - should other services be offered “or rendered” outside from actual ‘cuddling’, (which I absolutely see nothing wrong with in the platonic spirit) …I think this would be very cool but not many takers … and think that alot of trust & comfort level has to be built & established for this, & I’m very sure there are pros & enthusiasts who would love the adventure & have both the time & ability to do so & love the spontaneity of it … i could definitely see a couple pros very down for this & would love to take that offer if ever presented to them.

    @cuddles_ndream that's about what I am thinking. I think I would be down for it if I was the pro, but I agree that a significant amount of trust and comfort must be established first.

    I don't mind driving anywhere!

    Heck I even moved an ex from Bullhead City Arizona to Mobile Alabama in May after his latest divorce.

    My issue is always finding the time to take off of work and someone to take care of all my critters when I'm away from home.

    I just recently had to take six small poodles on a camping trip because my dog sitter backed out at the last minute.

    Five of them were well-behaved, the youngest one taught himself to unzip the tent and proceeded to introduced himself to the entire Campground multiple times.

    @ernesto_2 No, just didn't feel he should be left alone. He is the cuddle puppy.

    I was thankful at least he didn't chew a hole through the side of the tent. He is the reason I have child-proof locks on my stove, doors and cabinets.

    And I constantly have to remind guests to please if they use the bathroom they must lock the door. Otherwise they will have a small furry voyeur peering in on them.

    @ernesto_2 … the more I think of it the more cool it feels, I really hope you find the perfect cuddler/pro to join you in this adventure if you so choose to do this, I know you won’t have any problem finding someone , infact I know of 3 pros that would say yes! Not because they told me lol, but because I can tell by their interaction & their profiles & their free spirited nature I just know …

    Maybe not related at all, but I have a co-worker/friend who was telling us a story a few weeks back, & he said , “call it a midlife crisis or not, but 20 years ago I decided to take a flight ✈️ from nyc to Chicago, & from Chicago i did a cross country road trip , went through a famous highway 🛣 (I forgot the name now but I’ll ask him it was route __?) & stopped by many old & famous diners / shops / state to state / he experienced & saw america , he remembers waking up to a bison 🦬 right infront of him, meeting people that were shocked he was from the city asking him they can’t believe he lives there & that they would never / the Rocky Mountains ⛰/ sooo much of america , he went all the way to California & flew back … this made me want to do this so bad ,,, it is in my bucket list before 2025 …

    @cuddles_ndream it was probably old Route 66 also known as the Mother Road. I have driven sections of it extensively.

    Thank you 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻 @KYtranspant … earlier I was gonna say 86 (me thinking that is what he mentioned ) & yesss 66!!! The way he described it 🤦‍♂️ 🌌 …. I’m a huge fan of history / old establishments / bars / restaurants ect … this is literally my lane (no pun intended I swear 😅😂) & I remember him telling me that many places have permanently closed along that route because of other ways for truckers to travel ect (I don’t really remember) but that there still remains gems along the route … & I really want to make this happen before more gems get taken away, I can only imagine last year not being a good year for this historic route & all of its remaining establishments along the way, I can’t wait & im soo glad you both got to experience it : )

    @cuddles_ndream They built a lot of the interstate system 44, 40, 10 that parallels it very closely.

    Some sections of the roads are completely decommissioned, others are the main street in the small towns they go through.

    Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California are the sections I have traveled the most.

    I have not done any in Illinois or Missouri or the tiny section of Kansas.

    One of my bucket list items was to go see Oatman Arizona, with the free roaming donkeys that roam the town descendants of miner donkeys.

    That was one of my conditions for helping my ex move.

    I just love traveling, as a matter of fact one of my regular cuddlers and I nerd out talking, looking at atlases and places we've been in the past over the years.

    We wondered how many times our paths have crossed over the years and never knew it.

    @KYtranspant this is making me want to do this sooner, & yes it makes sense how the interstate system had a huge impact on it… I can’t believe Route 66 is now the Main Street in some of the towns it goes through …. In a little bit I’m gonna YouTube historic Route 66 & try & click on some interesting videos !! Ever had the feeling you were born in the wrong era? Living in the wrong place , or overall just missing out? This is how I’m feeling right now.

    @cuddles_ndream I don't think I could have been born in any other era.

    I would have been too rebellious of a woman and either made history, or been shot/ stoned/ burned to death by angry men for not knowing my place.

    That friend I was telling you about having this road trip tells me I’m an old soul , but I’ve always felt this, even very young … & I’ve wondered the above (if I just happen to be in the wrong era) or the spiritual approach (is this journey right now just one of many that we get to experience/ have experienced / & will experience …) & maybe the intuition / extreme vague memory is there? …. I guess I can’t really talk too much into this cause it borderlines those topics … but these are my thoughts 🌌

    I would suggest going on a shorter trip first before committing to such a long trip with someone. A big indicator of if someone is compatible with me long term can be defined in a weekend trip, camping, ect. reallll fast.

    I have done shorter, and longer, versions of this, and can say it is very enjoyable. It's neat picking out cool places/things to see along the way and banter. :)

    I have done the road trip thing, both with a pro and with an enthusiast. Three trips in all, and had a blast each time.

    My first two were driving trips, in that I took a local pro cuddler with me. On the most recent trip, an enthusiast met me midway across the country and we hung out and cuddled for a few days. She flew home and I drove home.

    I agree with @MissAdventurous above who suggested starting with a smaller trip. My first one (with the pro) was a weekend trip just a hundred miles from home. Close enough to bail and return home should things not work out. Even though it was a pro I had cuddled often and knew well, spending THAT much time together will really bring out any personality clashes or compatibility issues. Fortunately, we had none. We did another trip some months later, six days driving through multiple states and cuddling every evening. A great time was had by all.

    I hope to do some really long trips in the years ahead.

    Great question and so fun to hear about everyone’s road trip experiences thus far!

    I’m definitely intrigued by the idea and with the right person/right trip would be open to seeing if it was logistically possible.

    I’m curious to hear more people’s thoughts and experiences.

    @MissAdventurous totally agree with short trip even if it's just a day trip.

    Some people can drain the energy right out of me. As an empath I absorb energy from those around me, both positive and negative.

    Some cuddles leave me feeling energized and soul recharged all over, while others leave me exhausted and hesitant to even cuddle again.

    I couldn't imagine being trapped in a car with an energy vampire. I'd be strapping myself to the roof rack.

    @KYtranspant I know JUST what you mean. As a very sensitive empath I would absolutely end up on the roof rack too. Good think I like acrobatics and hanging from things. 🤣

    Probably not something I would do with a first time cuddler. With someone I've established rapport with, sure.

    OMGOSH!!!! What a fun thread! @ernesto_2 this is such a fantastic idea.

    AS A FEMALE ENTHUSIAST 😊😊😊...... I really appreciate that you are aware of the fact that finances might be an issue regardless of whether they are a pro or not. BEFORE ANYONE GETS ALL HYPED UP...... Let me explain what I mean. If this person is going to accompany you to your home so you don't have to do as much driving or so you can enjoy companionship and some closeness along the way to make your drive more enjoyable, then this trip is more about you than about the "two of you" What I am trying to say is that if you and a cuddle friend decided to pick a place together that you would both like to drive to and explore then it is more about satisfying BOTH of your needs. I think it is very thoughtful to say "I'll pay for your ticket home if you will help alleviate the boredom of the ten hour drive."

    As far as safety goes, I feel pretty confidant that unless someone knew you a bit already, it would be challenging to get in a moving vehicle without spending a bit of time together first. For compatibility reasons as WELL as safety reasons. I think @MissAdventurous and @quietman775 have a fabulous suggestion about a short day trip!! I mean really.... YOU might not want to be cooped up in a car with someone after going on a short trip. YOU might be thankful that you found out ahead of time that they drive like a maniac and can't be trusted with the keys to your pink Cadillac!!!! @OhioMike omgosh..... I would totally go for a road trip with you in THOSE!!!!

    I have often thought that when I'm flying it would be so fun to have a cuddle buddy in the seat next to me that had to go to the same place because it makes the trip so much more fun!!!! (Especially if you might be the sort of person who is dreading going home for the holidays)

    Oh my!!! Now I have to find out who is up for a bit of road trip..... Anyone??? Anyone???

    I'm all for road trips as long as I'm the one driving. Love the premise of this thread though.

    @sillysassy survived her whirlwind tour of Petaluma, breakfast (and lunch and adult beverages) in Sonoma, view of Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin headlands, and a different day/different breakfast in Sausalito. We talked so much (non stop) that driving was secondary to everything else.
