I have previousky removed my marital staus successfully, because 1. this is not a dating site, and 2. I'm a pro cuddler, so that shouldn't matter in the least.
@Mark, what inspired this, and can it be changed for pros at least?
Marital Status is already hidden on Pro profiles, so it can just be ignored in the edit page.
In regards to non-pros, there have been a couple of debates covering this sort of thing in the past which have provided some interesting and surprising perspectives on the usefulness of certain profile fields. My opinion is those that are here for cuddle based friendships generally appreciate as much information as they can get.
For example, marital status could indicate the probability of someone's lifestyle being compatible with your own. Someone might want to go out clubbing most nights and want a cuddle buddy similarly inclined in order to enjoy a hangover morning cuddle. In this case, there's probably more chance of compatibility with the single person than the married.
@Mark Nice to know I don't have to fiddle with marital status. Thanks!
I do get why many people would want to know about a cuddle buddy's marital status as a general-information thing. I just wanted there to be a choice to reveal it on the profile or not (it could always be brought up during messaging).
I can see people being unwilling to cuddle others who may be in a relationship. Im actually a little hesitant on seeing married men because Id hate for some drama to go down if the wife came home during a session or saw our messages and if he is hiding it. Women can be just as crazy as men and I dont wanna be attacked lol. But I give them the benefit of the doubt that everything will be okay, mostly if married men message me they are in poly relationships and open relationships so thats why I am ok with it the majority of the time.
@Brandi I'd be concerned if the session was anywhere but my place. It also depends on the rapport/how the vetting process went.
Personally i would avoid married folk. I had one pro who after told me she was married. She had no ring on at all. I would not see her again as to me that was hiding something and don't want to get in the middle of a squabble between someone and their significant other no matter the venue.
@navyvet76 Not everyone who's married wears a ring. I have a sister who doesn't because she doesn't like how it feels. It could have been deception, or she could have been on the autism spectrum, or she could have legitimately lost her ring. She may have felt that it would be tactiley distracting to you.
I do understand wanting to stay out of a married person's life, but you can't assume deception was her motive. Did you ask her why she didn't wear the ring?

Idk if she said or not. Been a while. It just it seemed kind of weird to me.
My dad was an iron worker; I did not see him wear a ring until he was long retired and that was on a special occasion. Many people that work with their hands do not wear rings. Growing up with a dad who did not wear any jewelry has made me someone who has no interest in any jewelry also. Just adding one more reason to Starflower's list of reasons why someone may not wear a ring,
Could honestly also be that she didn't want her relationship status to be a factor when it comes to business, could feel the person may not be as comfortable with her knowing she is married, and some people may not want to cuddle with her as a result.
After finding out i would not see her again. I didn't want any drama from a spouse.
Maybe her spouse is totally ok with her cuddling and she thought the ring would bring up that's she's married when that isn't a necessary factor in choosing a pro cuddler? I don't believe pro cuddlers are doing it to find a relationship so their relationship status should be a non-issue. I can totally understand not wanting to get into the middle of drama, but maybe don't assume there would be drama in the first place.
Might be i just want to err on the side of caution not be in situation with married folk. Also why i would only meet at a nuetral location for my safety. Not everyone feels that way and that is fine. And as i was walking her to her car she said her husband doesn't like her doing the cuddling right after she mentioned she was married but she was doing it anyway.
Aaah I see. That could definitely turn into a sticky situation!! Good call
I refer to myself as ethically non monogynous and it does say married on my profile. It's amazing to me how many pros either bypass that or pretend they don't read it. I've had multiple pros come over and it's evident by what they say that they think I'm single when there are girl things all over my home lol I'll remind them of my marital status and many times they seem shocked. I'm like um the bra hanging on the door knob, the makeup on the bathroom counter, the pink items in my home, they aren't mine lol
Morpheus, even being married those could have been yours. Lol
lmao that is true @navyvet76
