Have you ever experienced love?

does cuddling offer this feeling to you

Comments

  • Yes.

Cuddling can't offer the feeling to you.

There are different types of love, most or which are a function of time. There are exceptions, like love you have for biological family members, which don't require time but just exist.

You said "in love" so I imagine you are referring to romantic love. I don't think you can love someone you have just met or barely know or see once in a while. You may feel infatuation or lust, which are preliminary emotions which may leave to romantic love, but that is about it.

  • What type of love? That is a very vague question.

  • I experience love more times than I should 🤣

  • You said "in love" so I imagine you are referring to romantic love. @MCcuddles2

I actually never did & I haven’t edited this post.

  • It would be very sad to have never experienced love.

  • I have to agree though, it’s a very vague question and different people have different interpretations of what love is. This can be a very interesting post though once comments start rolling.

    @cuddles_ndream I stand corrected

But yes, I've had the privilege of experiencing different kinds of love.

Reciprocal romantic love with a woman.

    Love for my family members.

Love for my friends who I've known for more than a decade.

With friends and family, yes. From romantic partners (4) I have had over 32 years, my adult life, no.

What I experienced was love bombing and mirroring the best parts of me back to me.

I did not know what emotional narcissistic abuse was and how every adult relationship I've had with a partner was the same, just with a different person.

It took all of 2020 and most of this year with support from my friends and therapist to understand what happened when my life as I knew it with my partner basically exploded in front of my face in March 2020.

What I feel here with most that I have met is acceptance, kindness, respect for my boundaries and a willingness to share nurturing in a gentle loving way.

Not necessarily love, but I am a poor one to make any judgments on that.

Have I ever experienced love? I love many things and look forward to these things in my life. I love cats, breakfast tacos, putting boxers on immediately after taking them out of the dryer, music, clean dishes, my kick collection.

And cuddling in what context? In a relationship cuddling or hired cuddling? I still haven't hired, but yes, cuddling does bring another perspective of love.

  • @KYtranspant i really enjoy / like / (dare I say love? lol) your perspective on sooo many things 🌌

  • @KYtranspant I feel for you. Unfortunately I’m no stranger to narcissistic abuse. I’m so glad you’ve found support from friends and a therapist. Non-romantic support is so so important in our lives. I hope you continue to heal from your experiences.

@cuddles_ndream Interesting question. What brought it to your mind?

I certainly have experienced love with friends and family members (feeling loved and feeling love for others), and consider cuddling an activity that stimulates a lot of the same feelings of warmth and safety that we equate with love.

I’ve said “I love you” to romantic partners in the past, but as some of those relationships weren’t actually good for or supportive of me, I’m not sure I’ve truly been “in love” yet. Maybe one day. 🤷‍♀️

  • @calmcontact ty, & the reason, (or what brought it to my mind) is feeling a bit nostalgic/ my curiosity of why members want to cuddle / thinking of the reasons why I joined to begin with (when I did) & if others share the same sentiment or not … (their own reasoning)

    Yes.

  • Cuddling with a platonic partner or pro certainly doesn't offer me the feeling of "being" in love, but it certainly has made me a more loving person. I'd hope also a much more lovable person, too. I have been able to be much more tuned in to the needs of people around me and learned how to try and meet them while maintaining my own boundaries.

    there is a like💚 and love ❤
I liked many girls in my life but not to the level of love.
    but in reality I fall with a pro and no one can blame me🤗, ☝️why? it's wrong,or i shouldn't, it's the nature.
    Reasons
•in 30 years i never experienced long cuddles in my life.
    • she cuddled me when I'm in worst states of,depression, pains, sadnesses , and lost hope
    • the care she game me, I never experienced amazing care from a female friend
    • compassion and affection
    • i kept it inside me, i never told her
    • her love distracted me from depression and been negative.
    • her cuddles were powerful
    • her kindness, she screwed up with been very kind with me 😊
It was a beautiful experience and I think it was my golden age moments and live beautiful taste.❤

Yes to the question in the title, no to the question in the post.

  • Yes to SO many varieties of love.

The most profound was when I loved someone so completely that I recognized what pure love is-
Delighting in their existence.... and wanting nothing in return.

Where just the fact that they existed.... delighted me in a way that was both very mellow....

And filled me up completely.... where I wanted nor needed anything from that person.

agape (unconditional) = yes. the love I feel from God and my late wife, reciprocated
eros (passion/lust) = yes. young love, reciprocated.
philos (friendship/sibling) = yes. with close friends, reciprocated.
storge (paternal) = yes. from my parents. This love is one way. It's the love a child expects. from his/her parents.

Though there has been calamity in my life, I can't help but acknowledge that I've been blessed in experiencing the many aspects of what it means to be loved and to be in love. Life has been bittersweet but I'm ok with that. 🙏❤

It's better to love than to never have loved at all.

I've experienced the love I share with my daughter (the best kind, I think) and my family. I have had friends that I loved. As far as my romantic life goes, Blumhouse is licensing it to make a horror film series :)

  • Love can happen anywhere. Everywhere. But if people come to this site and think it's somehow a venue for dating and romance? Probably not going to work out well.

@cuddles_ndream - the main focus on this site is platonic cuddling. I'll keep this thread up, but know that if anyone flags the content, the mods will take it down for the romance and dating and non-platonic connotations.

  • Yes. Love is everywhere. It is the white light of which everything is made. It is a gift that is free for the taking. I like to close my eyes when I'm alone and do a meditation on love. I love everyone and everything everywhere. Love clears my soul of negativity. There are no limits to the amount of love one can feel. That includes cuddle buddies. Cuddle buddies are a reminder of how prevalent love is.

  • @sideon there are no connotations of romance … people interpret this post or any other post the way they want to believe it means or feel, (so much so that I even got quoted with quotation marks on something I didn’t even say, scary? Yea …)

I just flagged this post myself so you can take it down, thanks.
