Long distance cuddle buddy?

I know there is a lot of talk on here about the physical benefits of cuddling, but it also seems like there aren't enough people nearby to fulfill everyone's cuddling needs. Does anyone phone cuddle? Or am I just totally ridiculous and out of line here?

    Not a bad. Think it good idea. Why not? Not everyone can find a person near by. And it also helps to know that there is someone to talk or message to.

    yep...I agree...using touch, kik or line is helpful for this...I've actually done it with a few people and asked for a virtual hug....it feels  better than nothing at all  :)

    I've come to realise that I do this a lot...just didn't realise until I came on here.

    Sometimes when I'm chatting with a friend from interstate, we'll send *HUGS* messages to each other.  This may seem a little silly, but to me it really does feel like we're hugging each other.  I know i smile when I see those messages going back and forth. :-)

    Sort of like it's the thought of cuddling that counts, without being there physically.

    I completely agree with Protis, the text cuddles and hugs feel the same real life touching, with the added benefit of not having to worry about awkward boners or squishing the other person. Though I do find that the happiness from text cuddles fades faster than real cuddles.

    I would be willing to travel for the right female... just to cuddle. But I would have to get to know her online for a long time first. At least a couple or more months. And we would have to have formed a close enough emotional bond.

    I think this is a great idea! Much safer as well to get to know someone to an extent before visiting them.

    Okay, given this is a very old thread in fact the original as far as I can tell but what an awesome one! I for one would love to do a distance cuddle. Even like @Protis mentioned, the idea of someone sending me a {{hugs}} really is a warm feeling. It is the next best thing when stranded in a cuddle desert.

    I often use the word, ... smiles .... it's my way of saying you've touched me in a personal, almost intimate way. Much like a cuddle.

    Any interest in this idea now? 4 years later?
