Whoever or whatever you believe in and the rest of whom has the same concept as you worship something that's limited..the God I worship is unlimited .
@carino why not worship one of the other unlimited monotheistic gods that humans worship?
Like who? Show me one that's unlimited with what u call monotheistic gods you call them? Show me the prove ?... there's only one God. One day you will meet him and the rest of us as well
Man, before this thread, I never would have guessed that so many people on Cuddle Comfort have a direct line to the creator of the universe. It's amazing, really.
@carino let's take Allah. Muslims say he is unlimited.
Because of love
School me of Allah then ? I know nothing of allah
If you know nothing of Allah then you probably shouldn't even be bringing it up
I don't want to school you. All I'm telling you is that many religions are centered around one unlimited God. This concept is called monotheism. What is so special about yours?
Please do school me ,I like learning
You speak of many religions centered around unlimited God but yet you have no prove or any kind of argument for their supposedly existense, existence, your saying is that I just know is that pretty much correct?
@carino Pot, meet Kettle.
The Universe is too complex for it to arise by chance. Clearly it had to be created by God. And God therefore is even more complex and could not have arisen by chance. Therefore there must be a God-squared which is even more complex, necessitating the existence of God-cubed, and so on ad infinitum. These are just meaningless language games and simply demonstrate the failings of our language to express the essential surprise of our consciousness. Language wasn’t made for such things. It evolved to coordinate human activity for practical issues of survival and to propagate genes. If you look closer into questions around the existence of the Universe or existence of anything, you’ll see how the concept of existence is hopefully muddled to begin with. How could something NOT exist? You first have to describe what it is that’s you are talking about which presumes it’s existence or equivalently constructs it by how you define it. Therefore existence is a flawed concept that self contradicts and leads to useless language games which accomplish nothing and simply leaves one more confused than before one started.
Mainecuddle I have a pretty dam good argument for existence of the universe and why God exist..you as an atheist believe you popped out of thin air just a snap of a finger and your here.i know you were a believer of God at some point in your life but for some reason or another or something bad went in your life you stopped believing in him, like all atheist were a one time believer of God. And you felt that God turned his back on you.. I pray that one day you'll restore your faith in god.. God bless
Atheist believe 0+0 =1 nothing comes from nothing Christians 1+1+1 =1 3 Gods in one @HogboblinZwei regarding to a 50 years old man marry 9 years old , 100 years ago the legal marriage age in England was 12 years old, kings such as Victorians uesd to marry 9 years old when a girl becomes adulthood, those times are different then our morden times. Legal marriage now some countries 16 some 18
To know and worship God through Jesus Christ. Make Him lord of your life and your saviour .we only get one chance and life is not a dress rehearsal .
prove God exists, scientists only discovered all these in 20th century and mentioned in holly book 1400 years ago (the big bang ) Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart?1 And We created from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 21:30 the universe expand We built the universe with ˹great˺ might, and We are certainly expanding ˹it˺.51:47 (human development ) And indeed, We created humankind1 from an extract of clay, then placed each ˹human˺ as a sperm-drop1 in a secure place, then We developed the drop into a clinging clot ˹of blood˺, then developed the clot into a lump ˹of flesh˺, then developed the lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it into being as a new creation.1 So Blessed is Allah, the Best of Creators. 23:12 1. Sky – A Protective Covering Scientists did not know that the sky was a protected ceiling until the 20th century And We have made the sky a well-protected canopy, still they turn away from its signs 21:32
@tryingbutfail Jesus not God ,he is a prophet , show me where did he say in the bible I'm God worship me? and I'm ready to convert to Christian right now. God has no weaknesses, such as eating, drinking, sleeping ect
Friendly reminder, this thread is not for preaching about your magical sky person.
With respect, its not first time, always atheists when we bring them proves they run away. Like now as @MCcuddles2 mentioned Friendly reminder, this thread is not for preaching about your magical sky person. tactical withdraw. The title is why do think the universe exists, our answer God made. @MCcuddles2 big respect to you it's not about you, it's not surprising tactical withdraw by atheists when we give them evidence 🤣
@carino they don't believe in God and celebrate his birth. Christmas contradiction They can if they want to
Why do you believers expend so much energy on trying to prove you are right? Also non-believers are not allowed to say God? I guess inclusivity is not a strength of your god. So I am walking out of your god dealership now. Are you going to turn me over to the head God manager in one last attempt to sell me?
The silliness of all monotheistic religions is the principle idea of faith. Faith does not require proof. You just have to believe without proof, so they spackle in the cracks of their argument in the Bible with the story of Thomas who doubted and “gasp” that is bad. Yes the story of Thomas was added in and most of the books of the Bible were written decades and sometimes centuries after supposed events happened. Rumors and gossip operate the same way.
You keep believing you are right. It’s cute in a child like way. Just stop being so judgmental of non-believers. Yes I realize the child like statement was a judgement—that’s the point. It is not right and it is demeaning. Just because someone doesn’t believe isn’t the end of the world and vice versa.
@Ahmedali999 I (not atheist btw, more like agnostic) didn't run away from your "proof", the interesting conversation about the universe just becomes less interesting when Christians enter the chat. You have the right to believe what you want and everyone else has the right to not listen to proselytizing.
@MaineCuddle very well said anyway its very interesting topic i will research about agnostic i don't know much about it @FunCartel you always logical except today, faith doesn't require proof ? That's not logical
No, faith does not require proof. That is pretty much the definition of the word. Belief without tangible evidence.
A PSA to those who are proselytizing:
As Carl Sagan once said, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".
Also, as an aside: a claim being unfalsifiable is not a good thing. Additionally, starting with a premise that you believe to be correct, and then warping evidence to support your premise, is not how the scientific method works.
Regarding the original questions: I think they're far too leading to be intellectually honest.
Asking "why" implies that there is a why—a reason or purpose for the existence of the universe. The question takes for granted that the universe exists with intent, and then asks what people think was/is intended: "Why do you think the universe exists?"
All the questions in the original post carry this leading premise. There must be a "why." (Especially if we don't yet know the "how.")
Why does nature follow the laws it does? Because it does. If you were to ask how those laws developed instead of some hypothetical others—now, that would be a different question! And much less leading.
I don't think it's leading at all.
Cause and effect is a fundamental aspect of the universe. Cause is the why.
When try to trace back to the original cause, and it becomes beyond our ability to comprehend, it becomes a fascinating I'd not the most fascinating question in the universe.
To say that "why" is leading, is to say that it is leading that the universe works on cause and effect. Silly.
To be more granular, we know the speed of light through vacuum for our universe. There are no more hows to be had about this. So why becomes the next logical question, with one answer being that that is the set value or that perimeter for our particular universe.
