nevermind.
Same (maybe) ...
You can pick the lock?
@quixotic_life
I saw a lot of good point made in a locked thread that was shut down and there was healthy discourse involved. However, I read the admins post about trolling, and I do notice a few cats poking the fire and also in other theads, so me making this post was probably jumping the gun. I'm not above making a mistake, but in this case, I can't delete the thread.
I wish we could discuss those 2 topics … I like to see other peoples opinions & perspective … life would be so boring if everyone had the same views / same likes / same position in everything …. I understand that sometimes those topics are a recipe for a wrong turn, but it doesn’t have to be.
But there are more appropriate sites for topics like that and plenty of other places they can be discussed. Adding flashpoint issues to a site about cuddling is just going to result in a ton of extra work for the moderators.
@WriterGF exactly this.
@WriterGF true
Especially when it comes to politics, it's important to remember the words of one pundit, who wrote recently that if the US has another civil war, it won't be over a big issue like abortion or climate change -- it will be because we simply don't like each other. The only way I see a topic like that would fit would be if it were framed as, "Without stating your own political preferences, would you refuse to cuddle with someone if you knew their politics were opposed to yours?"
@WriterGF to answer your question, I have no problems cuddling someone with different political views than my own, or being friends with, as well as people in my household… experience shapes views/ their personal morals / & their own agenda or benefit.
i think, for me, I would have a rule to not discuss politics with a cuddle partner at all. They might have the same views I do, they might not, but I would rather not know. I'm not planning to move in with them or marry them, and there are certain political positions that would cause me to lose respect for them. So I just wouldn't go there.
I wouldn’t go into a cuddle session hoping to discuss politics, I was referring to the forum, in a cuddle session I would want to cuddle & be in that zone / element / music / embracing / possibly music? A movie In the background / chocolate chip cookie 🍪 dough icecream 🍨 ect
Edit: I understand you now more, you don’t want to know their position regardless of the fact , you don’t want to go into a cuddling session knowing if they’re this or that because of certain political positions, I get it.
@WriterGF - There are two things that I refuse to discuss with a friend (or cuddle buddy). They are politics and religion. I recently saw a profile of a woman which stated that two disqualifying factors for a man would be having facial hair, or being a Republican.
Having a beard myself, I can understand why she might object to facial hair, but I thought "how silly to object to Republicans." On second thought however, I think I might understand that too. If she is ultra-liberal, she might want to avoid a session where an offhand remark could lead to a ferocious argument.
@GreatHornedOwl
two disqualifying factors for a man would be having facial hair...
That's not fair! I'd never disqualify a woman as a potential cuddle partner just because she had a beard and mustache.
🙂
@JoyfulHeart: I'm sure my aunt would be delighted to hear that.
@DaringSprinter
Mine too
@JoyfulHeart I totally 💯 agree! Thank you all for keeping this forum thread positive (which keeps it unlocked).😁 🔑 🔐
@SuperManCuddles i was just about to post the new set of pijamas I found online that I want to wear for my next cuddle session 😅😂 but I can’t, not after your positive reply & in the spirit of maintaining positivity & the thread unlocked (but I’m tempted 😈) I just wanted to share that I won’t discuss politics on my next cuddle session, but I will wear those pijamas 🤣
@cuddles_ndream LOL!!!😂🤣
