Bogus Cuddlers

I have had 3 situations on this website where I did a video chat and we both agreed to meet and then out of nowhere they make up some excuse cancel and then close out their profiles. The first one’s excuse was a family emergency have to cancel deactivated her account before I could reply back and ask any questions. The second one just happened where she set up plans and I texted her to confirm and out of the blue says she is in relationship within 3 days. Amazing. Then as soon as she texted me back she deactivated her profile.

I ask what is the purpose of wasting peoples time. The only thing I could think of is the website is having people to make it look like there are more cuddles than there really are?

Any other theories ?

  • The website gains nothing by pretending there’s more people than there actually is. It seems like those were just a case of the cuddlers not knowing how to say you guys weren’t a good match for cuddling … you got farther than most guys on this site by having 3 video chats.

  • I am confidant to say that the website is not doing that.

  • @Ipadman - A few things we would need to know first before diagnosing your situation is this:

    1) How recent or how old were the cuddle profiles of those three profiles?

    2) How much karma did their profiles have? Was it good karma? Was there any karma at all?

    And

    3) Were those cuddler’s Pros or enthusiasts?

  • Your poll itself only has the same two answers and therefore is rigged, which is a form of conspiracy.

  • @Mela_B very true and lol

  • 3 video chats and 3 no shows and then 3 deactivated profiles. That’s not coincidence or conspiracy. That’s unbelievable 👍 Seriously though , that’s a heck of a run of not good luck

  • The bogus profiles are totally obvious and its very clear anyone can make a fake profile, sign up and be "approved" to be a pro. I had a chick catfish me a few months ago, she was like 20 years older and totally different lol. Turns out had her daughter video chat me but she was really the cuddler. Then she threw something at me when i turned around real quick and bolted

  • Hopefully, you didn't pay them anything.

    My sympathies @Ipadman, that's rotten luck. The experience you describe is, sadly, not that rare. But to get three in a row is very unfortunate.

    It's not the website. What's happening is that unsuitable people hear about cuddling, usually from friends or relatives, and think, 'Aha! I'm a pretty girl, I can get lots of easy money from being a professional cuddler!' And they sign up.

    Cuddle Comfort is a social networking site, like twitter or Instagram. It does next to nothing on checking people out, but nonetheless the 'vast majority' of applications for professionals are rejected.

    Many of those who are accepted start out with good intentions. However, they quickly discover that It's not as easy as all that, and they leave abruptly.

    There is no hard and fast system for choosing your professional but good signs include lots of karma, karma over an extended period, well-written profile, long membership, unsalacious photos, and maturity.

    @newportsteve that's quite a story!

  • I think it's important to understand there are "Professional Cuddlers" and then there are "Paid Cuddlers". They are not the same.

    Like @CuddleDuncan says above, CC is a social networking site. Like any other social site that is "free" to be a member, you have to know there are many fakes and flakes. I am confident most women on here have to put up with many more fakes and flakes then we men do - but suffice to say - one should be very careful before meeting up.

    @newportsteve - Wow! Just wow!

    @Ipadman doesn't say whether or not the cuddlers he arranged to meet were enthusiasts or professionals. I can say the behaviour he describes is not unique to Cuddle Comfort. I've had a couple situations when connections initiate "interesting" conversations on okcupid before abruptly deleting their profiles.

    I believe some people come to Cuddle Comfort believing this experience is what they want, then get nervous as the critical moment approaches. In @Ipadman 's case, they got nervous before he wasted time on a journey or had a bad in person experience.

  • Im sorry you had this experience, man. You seem like a perfectly nice guy but I'm going to give you the real deal.

    Usually a virtual meeting is scheduled to see if the cuddlers are compatible/ comfortable enough to meet in person.

    The reason I say this is because there is the off chance that the cuddlers just didnt feel compatible or comfortable with you. And that's perfectly cool. Im not comfortable with every professional cuddler either and some may not be with me. I'm good with that. Just keep doing you and dont let it get to you.

    Most people would say I'm the nicest coolest guy they've met but those that dont know me get a different perception because for whatever reason they base their perception off of something else.

    Can you imagine cuddling with someone who's not completely comfortable? It would be a horrible experience. I prefer to go where I feel celebrated and not tolerated.

    It looks like you've gotten some cuddles in before so like I said., Keep doing you bro.

    That sounds very unfortunate and annoying.
    I’m sorry you went through that!

    I took the entire month of December off to refocus on my health and at the beginning of January, I booked two separate cuddle sessions in the same day and both flaked. One stood me up and the other didn’t communicate with me properly after verifying(they changed the day after I was there in town for our previous agreed upon session) & literally I wasted my time and energy driving an hour and a half away.
    It was very infuriating to feel anger & like my time was wasted.
    So I can empathize with you in that area of emotion.

    A lot of people who message me end up deleting their profile after they book a cuddle session with me-it’s definitely not anything I take personally since I have a full time job and health issues at the moment.
    But I know everyone has their own lives and plans. It’s just difficult to feel adequate sometimes when things keep happening back to back.

    I hope this thread supports you and helps you feel heard OP! 🤍✨

  • @Atlantapilotguy just putting this in here: when you say “paid cuddlers”, do you mean there are people who aren’t approved as pro cuddlers but are still charging? If that’s what you meant, they aren’t allowed to do that. If they aren’t approved by the site as a pro and have a pink P on their profile, they can’t charge you. You should report them.

  • @Sheena123 I think he meant there are pros who conduct themselves in a professional manner and there are those who don't.

  • There are people who collect personal information, phone numbers, and email addresses, and then sell it all as a package.

  • @Mr_Cuddle_Bear ah ok, that makes sense 👍🏻

  • To me it sounds like they got cold feet !!
    I had it happen 2 times, we even had a time and dates to meet out in public for ice cream and a day or 2 before they closed out there account.
    I know for me when I found this site, I was not sure how to approach others, I even had typed out a message several times but at the last minute I deleted it. Before finding this site I had never reached out and asked anyone to just cuddle.
    So I had real cold feet at first.?
    I would keep trying!!!!!

  • No shows and deactivated or deleted accounts definitely happen. For anyone who has experienced this please accept my virtual hugs and comfort because I get it. Our time and energy are valuable and the service a paid cuddler provides, that safe space, the recharge or just the exchange of energy that occurs when you are fully present and there for one another - it’s BIG. To expect that and then not get it - especially when you may have declined time with another important person or task is never ideal. To have been actionable in getting our inherent need for physical touch and connection met and then it not come to fruition — I get it.

    With that being expressed I also understand and respect that life happens. I am working on accepting things as they are rather than dwelling on the incongruence of an expectation ( premeditated disappointment ) and reality.
    So how does that apply with the cuddleverse for me ? I had a couple cancellations recently (3 actually and with repeat clients) and I allowed myself to observe that yes, quality time and cuddles with those amazing people would have most likely been wonderful ! I accepted that life happened and they needed to cancel and embraced the reality that was. I had more time to connect with other people, Friends, family, ect. *Should those amazing souls read this post, I fully understand cancelling can happen and for any reason and am not upset about it. I don’t even need an explanation.

    Beyond this, karma can speak volumes. Karma can be accurate in foreshadowing professionalism and what you could expect out of a session with someone.

    And as there are unprofessional paid cuddlers so aren’t there less than ideal cuddle clients. I encourage everyone seeking cuddles and connection on either side or even between enthusiasts to keep an open mind and hope you make the connections you need 💗😊

    I’m just here because I love the word bogus

  • @SweetiSammi You made me laugh out loud!

  • 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • That post with PeeWee’s pic is pretty Bogus! 🤣🤣 I’m not sure if I’m a bigger fan of PeeWee or the term Bogus! Although Jeff Spicoli’s use of the term Bogus is awesome, totally awesome! 🤣🤣

    @Cuddlenovice08 Hey Bud, let’s party! 🤙🏼

  • I agree that it's possible they felt uncomfortable or got cold feet after having the video session. A video session can become a seemingly easier space to "be yourself" because you are not in person but still interacting and conversing as if you were and so it can also make one feel more vulnerable at the same time. This can definitely cause someone to get cold feet after being so open on video and fearing how much more vulnerable and open they may be expected to be in person. If that makes sense lol.

  • Like anywhere else, you have some good and bad ones. Some cuddlers are good and do their job well. Others really don't. My feeling is that there are those who also decide to go pro and don't realize the work it takes to do a good job. They think that as long as you have a profile , guys will come to them, and they will get paid for cuddling. Good ones, do a bit more and show that they care about what they are doing.

  • @quietgiant98

    The reason I say this is because there is the off chance that the cuddlers just didnt feel compatible or comfortable with you.

    @cuddle4health

    it's possible they felt uncomfortable or got cold feet after having the video session

    Yeah, that is... not at all what is going on here. If a pro decides she's not compatible with one client, is she just going to suddenly deactivate her profile? That makes no sense.

    The fact is that while it sounds like @Ipadman has had a run of bad luck, it's not really particularly out of the ordinary. And it's definitely not a conspiracy by the web site. A lot of pros -- I would say most -- on this site aren't really committed to this profession or even particularly responsible people. They just hear about pro cuddling and make a profile hoping to make some easy money. If they get bored, or have a bad experience, or decide it's not for them, or are too scared to actually try it, they may deactivate their profile. That's it.

  • Were they professional cuddlers or enthusiasts (non professionals)?
