Two truths and a lie

As the thread title suggests, this is a game for forum members to guess which of the other members statements are true, and which is the lie.

Keep it clean, keep it cuddly.

I'll go first:

1) I obsessively collect ring pulls from drinks cans, and currently have over 5,000.

2) I don't have any tattoos or piercings.

3) I was once headbutted by a drunk man while dressed as a giant spider.

    @BuggleBear I’ll say 1 and 3 are truths and 2 is a lie. 😀

  • I'm with @Tranquilescape: 2 seems most likely to be the lie to me. I look forward to finding out if I'm right. Fun! Hmm....

    1) I gave myself my own tattoo.

    2) My parents liked it when I shut myself in small closets with the lights off.

    3) I've smoked marijuana.

  • @DaringSprinter I'm guessing that 1 is the lie

    My answer:

    2 is actually true! I have had piercings before but they have all closed up, so I don't currently have any. I am getting my ears re-pierced soon though. 1 is also true, but 3 is false- I was actually punched in the face while dressed in a boilersuit and wearing a gasmask.

    @JoyfulHeart:

    It's a small black X on the web of my left thumb—I used a Sharpie and a pin sterilized with rubbing alcohol. It's the only tattoo I have, and it commemorates my battle with trypanophobia.

    The odds are 50/50 now!

    @BuggleBear:

    Ooh, sneaky. Accurate event, inaccurate details! I like it.

  • [Deleted User]DeadGirlWalking (deleted user)

    @DaringSprinter I think 2 is false. I think you did it, but they didn't like it

  • @BuggleBear:

    Nope! As my mother put it, "We know where the kid is, and he's not getting into any trouble."

    It probably helped that the rental we were in only had two small closets: one for coats, and one for the water heater. I favored the coat closet. Nice and dark and cosy and relatively safe.

    (My parents preferred me closeted in more ways than one, haha.)

    So now you know my dreadful secret! I've never been high on anything that wasn't a mountain or airplane.

    1. I won a Big Lebowski costume contest
    2. I won a dance competition
    3. I won a hula hoop competition
  • [Deleted User]DeadGirlWalking (deleted user)

    @SweetiSammi I don't know why, but I think 2 is the lie.

  • @SweetiSammi I heard you lost the dance battle, #2 = false.

    1. I have earned money while ice skating

    2. I have fallen out of a lemon tree

    3. I have served as crew on a racing yacht

  • @DaringSprinter - I spent a lot of time hiding in the closet, too.

  • @SweetiSammi - #1 is the lie.
    @JoyfulHeart - #3 is the lie.

    1. I've never been drunk.
    2. I've broken 1 bone.
    3. I've had 11 surgeries.
  • [Deleted User]DeadGirlWalking (deleted user)

    I'm saying #2 for both @JoyfulHeart and @Green_Eyes based on the semantics. I think it was a different type of tree and more than one bone.

  • I'm guessing number 2 for @Green_Eyes too, for the same reason.

  • The correct guess was made by

    @BuggleBear Your reason was correct too: I actually fell out of a grapefruit tree.

  • 1-I speak fluent Japanese

    2-I was a juror on a murder one trial for a gang member

    3-I once won over $10,000 playing blackjack online

    1) I own a box of Korean breakfast cereal that I got as a gift.

    2) I once had a ginger cat named Garfield.

    3) I drink at least 1 cup of tea every day.

    I'm going to guess #1 for @SweetiSammi #2 for @Green_Eyes and #3 for @Spud424 as being the lies. It was actually a Small Lebowski costume contest, she's broken hundreds of the bones of her enemies on the field of battle, and it was actually over ₾10,000 rather than dollars.

    @Green_Eyes and @Zundar got it ☺️ #1 was the lie… I actually placed third in the Lebowski contest

    I’m guessing @Green_Eyes has had more than 11 surgeries.
    @Spud424 #2
    @Zundar drinks coffee, not tea

  • [Deleted User]Gabriel2k (deleted user)

    I'm not good at lying but I guess I'll play too..

    1. Most half of my body is tattooed.

    2. A drone blew up a couple of yards away from my group while overseas.

    3. I enlisted and served in the army for 7 years.

  • [Deleted User]DeadGirlWalking (deleted user)

    @Gabriel2k I feel like #2 and #3 go nicely together so #1 must be the lie?

    @Spud424 I think #1 is the lie.

    @Zundar I think #3 is the lie.

  • [Deleted User]Gabriel2k (deleted user)

    @BuggleBear interesting choice.

    3 is the lie, I joined the Air Force, not the Army 😅

  • @Spud424 I’m guessing 1 is the lie.

    Here’s mine:

    1) I was a locally known rapper in Philly. Once performed on the same show as Run DMC.

    2) Had a small role in Rocky III

    3) Had a brain tumor removed, a fly landed on my brain during surgery.

  • [Deleted User]Zundar (deleted user)

    @SweetiSammi and @BuggleBear both correct, I mostly drink water or flavoured water. Got a kettle and am stereotypically English in many ways but not a tea drinker.

  • [Deleted User]ClubSamwiches (deleted user)

    @mc_quiettime #3 I don’t think a fly landed on your brain

  • The last statement is true.

    The previous statement is false.

    The previous statement is false.

  • @SweetiSammi a fly actually did land directly on my brain during surgery. And it was at a major Philadelphia hospital. Crazy at the time but makes for a funny story now.

    I was not in any Rocky movies, #2 is the lie.

    @Zundar - I've not broken anyone else's bones, LOL.

    @SweetiSammi - I've only had 11 surgeries (only 11, LOL).

    @BuggleBear - you're correct about it being #2, but incorrect that it was more than 1 bone. I've never broken any bones. 😊

    @JoyfulHeart and @Zundar - you also guessed correctly.

  • @mc_quiettime Maybe the fly was attracted to intelligence.
