Dealing with depression

Going through a bit of depression 11year marriage ended few weeks back. Some days I can get along fine joke and laugh and be my usual self. Other days I turn into a zombie and don't want to move or do anything like a concrete brick just sitting there. Im not crying I just feel empty like if my heart and mind was in a cup and someone just poured it out and all that is left is an empty shell..

the future I may discuss what happen but I ask one question..... what's the point of being a hotshot entrepreneur or pioneer who changes the world or a revolutionary for a new movement or a billionaire company who manages thousands of employees if at the end the day you lose your own wife? ...the pain is real 💔😪

  • I’m sorry to hear you’re going through all of this.

As for your question - only the individual can answer it for themselves. It depends on what is more important to the individual. Some will gladly sacrifice their personal relationships for other causes, it happens every day. Others realize - too late - that they made the wrong choice.

We all make mistakes. We don’t all learn from them. As long as we’re still alive we have the opportunity to learn and make better choices.

Hang in there. This, too, will pass.

  • Everything you've done or been done has up to this moment has shaped and molded who you are today... Change even the slightest thing and a huge ripple effect could have happened.
Experiences good and bad have led to any success or failures you've had but most importantly has given you knowledge, or at least the option to gain knowledge from. Still have to learn from it and apply it.
But guess trying to say is can't look at it like a waste of time or a complete failure...as still had that time in first place.
Now if looking for a point, in general...yeah, I think most of us still looking for that, if it actually even exists, which I don't think it does.

  • All of the Above because every day, every minute, carries its own hue and shading—why limit it to a box? Sometimes at the beginning of the journey there is great benefit in listening to yourself, your heart, your body and act on what you hear accordingly. • Very good information everyone I appreciate it. Some things are painful for the heart but healing to the soul

  • The pain is very real. But if you're writing a post like that you're well on the way through it.

  • 100% agree with CuddleDuncan. You cannot change the past so learn what you can from it and focus ahead. I am not saying it is easy (I can relate to your situation) but it is possible.

  • @Newlife2022 My bias is informed by being in D & A recovery for 35 years. Creative destruction is the process whereby new and better things are made possible only by the elimination of something occupying the space where the new things need to go. It's not painless but it may be the only way to move forward.
